DAILY STOCK GUIDE - NIGERIA STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT 23 JANUARY 2019

Bull and bear were nearly of equal strength yesterday, on the breadth bulls were better with the ratio 26:10 (bull:bear). Looking at the last hours of trading, the bulls have something to prove. Only the appearance of heavy sellers can give bears the chance to continue. Thus we are likely to see a see/saw kind of activity for the week.

MSCI Nigeria is back with selling as at yesterday, but it was not significant.

For Wednesday 23 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30870.27 Low at 30544.42.

We have identify our first merger/going private candidate and our subscribers are now monitoring and buying little by little.

From this year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. Especially when they are trading at a very low point that our maximum loss is within 15% to 20% range. For this I will be posting more in our twitter handle.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).
N:B

1. Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero, unless the fund is exiting from the particular Country involved. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market. The date displayed may not be the actual date of purchase/sale of equity (this is legal and allowable under the regulations guiding funds operations in general).

3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding.

4. If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI Nigeria for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts), you will see the various sources where the data can be verified. Get us at twitter https://twitter.com/AnalysisTarget

This kind of new year resolution that has turned our active forum members to guests is not encouraging.

What is really happening since the new year? Are they offended or what? Pls we need our active NSEMPA thread back and need the contributions of our gurus and all old members in the house because I am missing everyone of you. Thank you.

Lol! this one you paired me with these gurus! I think we shouldn't be too carried away by it's mini-bull. It should be monitored closely because the upcoming election fever may resist it's movement. Let's enjoy the ride while it last.

Of course the impact from dilution after inculcating existing DIAMOND bank shareholders should naturally impact ACCESS' EPS, ROE and EM. However, the degree or extent of that impact would largely depend on how well the management of the bank can drive for a better PRIFIT MARGIN going forward.
There'll be a sense of urgency to be far more effective and efficient in driving that line, otherwise ur guess will be as good as mine !!

On the issue of dividend, am of the view that ACCESS may not pay any dividend for FY 2018. But even if they will, I believe that the amount declared will likely come in lower than that of FY 2017. This should be the right thing to do. ...especially when u consider the fact that the bank is also looking to raise 2 trench of funds via rights.

It is however important to note that their FY 2018 dividend declaration will most likely exclude the current DIAMOND bank stakeholders who make it to the sealing of the merger deal. This is because the financial print for FY 2018 will likely be released before the merger deal is sealed.(I expect the managers of access to smartly tour that line)
So if I were a dividend drive investor, I'd look the way of other members of the 'fugaz family' particularly UBA and ZENITH.
I however believe that the possibility of a better ROI drive(via capital appreciation) is more with some of the banks in the tier 2 space. ...I have since highlighted a few of them here.

But then again, this should NOT be infered as any sought of recommendation. ...pls do well to read through my signature below.

Regards.

Mr FIDELITY is now at a TECHNICALLY great spot.
I think its finally made the long awaited GOLDEN CROSS !!
It's a strong hold for me.
...the N3 boulevard isn't impossible.
Folks will remember the part in bold of my post above.(a revert to @ chibuking81) ...so watch out for the other tier 2 banks(FCMB, WEMA and STERLING), and a few in the 1st tier space.(particularly UBA and ZENITH )
But then again, due diligence should still remain ur 1st priority.

Not at all! It's just to observe the journey and enjoy the ride as it gains profit but know when to come out when it reaches a good bus stop. Don't get carried away by the sweet journey(profit), so that it doesn't take you back to the carpark you've left.

In other words, observe the mini-bull and know when to take profit based on the market i.e, if you're a trader/short-term investors.
