if you have read as u claim you would have seen the answer make una they read IELTS/ TOEFL or proficiency letter is course dependent and not even school dependent . eg a school.might accept only recognised English cert like IELTS or TOEFL for course A and accept proficiency letter for course B so read and read at least the part from page 1 u will be OK finally . also check the school u want to apply to atop talking about two years ago its to far Germany is not static like naija they are dynamic a course in mitweda @heybaby12 school.last winter was a direct admission but this winter its tru uniassist so 2years is enough for things to change in Germany all d best enjoy read back and check daad.De for information
My dear I am just realizing now that both The Bsc and MSC courses are now under uni assit.
In less than a year the process don change

Nice. 34 Nigerians applied for your course alone? I guess you should be happier now that your wish for more Nigerians in your school is coming to pass. Let's hope you get a few more babes this time. smiley

Thanks for finding the time to reply considering this is your exam period. Best of luck in your exams.
No be to apply oh na to show up.
Last year 166 Nigerians applied to my course both the Bsc and Msc(Applied mathematics), 44 were admitted only 7 showered up.

Anyone applying to FAU ERLANGEN-NURNBERG? Just a heads up they will find any reason to frustrate your application process. Save your money for another school

What!!!!!!!!!!

I just applied for msc integrated life sciences yesterday.

I thought was applying for winter not knowing that it was a summer application.

I mailed them to see if the application can be converted to winter because I'll not be able able to submit the documents before the deadline....

Why you talk so ?

My colleague and I encountered so many issues during the application process. They will keep finding errors in any application despite it being accepted in other schools or even following their own instruction. You cerftify with embassy wahala, certify your transcript/degree with your school wahala. You cant win.
Their grad office support is very condescending and will turn you in round circles after wasting your time/money etc. I told them via email that if they want Germans only to apply to their school only, they should state it on their website.
A word is enough for the wise.

I really have to thank those who stayed back to help even after getting their visas and despite their busy study and work programs in Germany.

I also have to thank those who shared their experiences right from visa journey to life in Germany as foreign students.

For newbies your German school search starts here https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/en/

The following steps will help newbies (Thanks to CassieV for the tips)

Most of the schools in Germany are tuition free even for international students, you only get to pay a certain amount as semester fees say between 100-400 euros and most times the semester fee comes with a semester ticket to aid in transportation in your city or town.
However, before you're granted a student visa, you have to prove that you can take care of your living expenses with one of the following means ;
1. Block account: The estimated living expenses for a student in a month is 720euros, when you multiply that by 12 months, you get 8640euros. This is the amount you're required to block in an already opened account with either Deutsch bank, Fintiba or Xpatrio. It is called a block account because you will not be able to withdraw everything at once, only 720euros will be released to you every month.
2. Sponsorship letter: If you have a relative living and working legally in Germany, they can get you this letter. They'll have to visit the alien office in their city and will be required to provide some documents and pay a certain fee. The letter will be sent to you when they receive it so that you can go with it for your visa interview.
3. Scholarship: This is usually the best if you have the scholarship, your visa will be granted in under 2 weeks after interview. So try and look for scholarships you can apply to.

Now that you understand the financial situation, let's go into the application process.
To search for schools, click on this link
https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/?p=l&q=&fos=0&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list
filter your search to make it easier, there are English taught courses there.
Generally, the very important documents needed to apply to schools in Germany are;
1. Transcript
2. English Proficiency
3. School Certificates (Degree, Waec, etc)
However, depending on the school, some other documents needed are as follows.
4. Curriculum Vitae
5. Motivation letter
6. Reference letters
7. GRE test
8. Etcetera.. Visit your prospective school website and find out the documents they need from you.
Note: You don't apply with your original documents, you have to make photocopies of them and Certify them in High court or a Notary public. If you stay in Lagos, you can certify at the German Embassy too. You'll have to book appointment for that.
For those planning to go for a Bachelors course, you need a 100level transcript from a university to apply for a BSc program in germany. WAEC alone will not be enough and No, OND will not do, you need a HND.

For the application proper, it is always important to go through the website of the schools you want to apply to, you'll get a lot of information form there concerning how to apply. Some schools do only online applications, some requires that you send your application documents to them by post after applying online, some you send your documents as pdf to their email address and then you get the uni assist crew.
Like I said earlier, it is important to go visit and read the websites.

When you get your admission letter, open a block account immediately(that is if you don't already have a sponsorship letter) and as soon as you get your account details, send an email to the embassy requesting for a visa interview date.
You need these to get an interview date:
1. Admission letter
2. Block account/sponsorship letter/scholarship letter
3. International passport data page(scanned)
Then your Full name and Resident address.

Prepare for your interview
Go for your interview

Hmmm. Na true o. Many of those people would have applied to other schools too and that course might not be their first choice so they go for another course instead.

They don't accept German embassy certification??

I can see how unruly they can be through the replies I got from the course coordinator of the program I applied for.

So uncomplimentary

They accept. Their admissions person still complained about it. I have moved towards winter application and considered it as lost money already. Just wanted to warn others ahead

I have just followed your link, no available date. Did u check it before u posted?

I wish I took a screenshot before posting the link. There were many available dates then but not any more. Meaning it has closed up for the day.
Maybe they should check by 12:05am and 8:00am

There's no need to stress yourself searching

When you open daad, you can choose the degree level you want and the language.
Just pick Bachelor's, and English language

Next line, you can choose the field of study.

Daad will filter everything for you.
