How do you prove that you are on low income?

Same way you prove you have income.... pay slips, tax return, bank statement etc

If this is Havard then there should be no issue. Harvard's financial aid programs pay 100 percent of tuition, fees, room, and board for students from families earning less than $65,000 a year. except if they changed their policy. . Did you fill your application accurately ?

Also to be admitted there means you have good enough SAT to get you full funding into a lot of less competitive school

Does it apply to international students? Cos 65,000$ is lots of money here.

In Havard University : International students receive exactly the same financial aid as Americans.

Once you are admitted to Harvard, we work closely with your family to ensure you can afford to come here. Because we seek the best students regardless of their ability to pay, we are committed to meeting 100 percent of demonstrated financial need for all four years.

How did he get his i20 without providing proof to show he has funds. I know they don't release i20 without seeing proof of available funds.

Falling out of status means you are no longer in school and illegal in the USA. Harvard school fees is very expensive and it's not what you can work and pay. Please search for schools that will give you scholarship if you can't get a sponsor to Harvard university.

Are you seriously asking him to dump Harvard admission for a lower ranked university because of funding? Rather, I think he should contact Harvard financial office for funding opportunities and I'm certain he will be considered, especially if the admission was based on merit. Harvard has the biggest endowment as compared to any university in United State.

Proof of funding is somewhat insignificant to big schools like Harvard. They are more concerned about admitting the best and suitable students. Harvard has the ability to guarantee financial aid for admitted students based on needs assessment, and remember most students at Harvard are from the top 1% family income size.

Someone has suggested he mail the school. But if there is no financial aid from the school for him, what's your advise? Kill himself on top bills or take up huge loan? Harvard isn't the only top school in USA. There are many others that will offer him full ride scholarship. He is brilliant and with his grade that got him into Harvard, he will definitely get full scholarship from other schools if nothing comes from Harvard. My advise is against attending the school without any form of assistance as he can't foot the bills alone by working and studying.

They can't release i20 without you having full scholarship that covers your tuition and living expenses or bank statement that covers it. So, I was wondering how he got his i20.

House I need your advice!

I applied to Kansas State University to study BSc in Milling Science and Management. I have been admitted and have got my I-20.
I finished my secondary school in 2007 and I have OND and BSc in Computer Science. Also married with 2 kids and i have applied for b1/b2 visa twice and was denied.
I currently work in grain milling industry in Ghana spanning 8 years working experience.
I passed all IOAM exams modules and I am certified in 2012. IAOM means International Association of Operative Millers.

Kansas State University is the only university in the that offers degree in Milling Science and Management hence the reason why I applied to the school in order to become expert and grow in the industry.

What is my chance of getting visa with the following:

Marriage status
Already have a BSc and still applying for another BSc
Already denied for B1/B2 visa twice

As the gurus will say why bsc to another Bsc? can you give a convincing answer to the VO as regards to that question? i would have advice that you apply for msc instead as your profile/age dont cut it for another bsc degree.... just my opinion tho

You have a bsc degree, 8 years experience and 2 kids...Common you can you better for yourself. You should be applying for a masters/PhD and not bsc. Even if you plan to still do another bsc, for the sake of getting visa, apply for a masters/PhD course. This path you are toiling with, will land you a visa refusal easily.

Kansas State University don't offer MSc in Milling Science and Management. Note that the uni is the only school in the world that offers full degree (BSc) programme in Milling Science.

Gurus in the house, make una advise me before Walter Carrighnton take my money do fine boy! grin

Use msc to enter. When you enter USA, you read the course. The main thing is to get visa and this path you are following won't be easy

I'm surprised he got admitted to Harvard and he doesn't know he doesn't need to pay a dime if his parents earn less than $65000.He would only need to cover books and supplies and that can even be taken care of with on campus job.

Hello everyone, i need your advice on this issue, i have bsc in computer science but i want to apply for BSC nursing in the US, what's my chance of getting a visa, thanks

Disregard those that say you have a relatively lower chance of getting a visa due to your degree in computer science. There is a sub-specialty called nursing informatics, which your degree in computer science will come in handy if you decide to focus on that.

He should NEVER throw away an ivy league admission because of full ride in another school when he can enjoy the same at Harvard.

Mr Adviser. Is he going for masters in nursing informatics or another bsc. Shey you don't know having a bsc and going for another bsc reduces your chances of getting a visa?

We are talking of if he doesn't have the scholarship, should he continue? No one will throw away full scholarship from an ivy league school. He is yet to respond how he got his i20 without providing proof of funding

Good evening my people. I have been following this thread since 6am today and at this point I am convinced that we have gurus here and God sent individuals who are ready to assist. Please I want to seek for admission in the US to further my education. I am a HND graduate in Accountancy with upper credit. I left school in 2004 and have been working in different Banks since 2006 till date. Can I get a school to do PGD and then masters or do they have a kind of direct entry program I can do for first degree. I will truly appreciate someone to put me through and advice me appropriately on how to go about it.
I have a friend who is a professor in a school in Boston. He is a Nigerian and currently the HOD. Is there anyway he can help me. ? He told me he wants to assist me leave Nigerian. Is there any other way he can help me with the school admission or any other way
Your swift responses will be appreciated.
Thank you

You do not need a PGD to do your Masters as HND is accepted for graduate studies in the US. I would suggest you search schools that has a Masters program in your field of interest and apply. You can start with www.usnews.com for your school search.
You necessarily need not evaluate your transcript, some schools have in-house evaluation team.

Wow!!! I am happy for you. I truly wouldn't know what to advice but I will suggest you call International Admissions asking them about scholarship possibilities for new coming students that could help you reduce your tuition. You never can tell how much information you can get. I believe if you do very well, subsequent years might earn you good scholarship to at least offset your tuition.

Send me a PM, I am willing to work with you on this by helping you vet your emails before you send them and possibly, help you make all necessary calls on your behalf to source information for you because I know they have plans to fund students to the best of their ability.
