Illnesses can affect any human. And they are not always physical injuries or biological parasites. Disease of the mind exist too and they have little to nothing to do with spiritual attacks.
In the Bible verse I quoted,Jesus didn't display this erroneous correlation many of us humans make between sickness and demons/sins. He rather loved the man and gave him his healing. Yet many modern day Christians who have no single healing anointing arrogantly pontificate that no Christian can run mad. I'm a doctor and I see people of all faiths, works and class come down with diseases of all sorts everyday.
Let me briefly ask you a question......if your pastor's wife was diagnosed with Cancer tomorrow, would you say she's no longer a Christian? Ever heard of Nabeel Qureshi, an ex Muslim who labored heavily in the vineyard of Christ to reach many Muslims with the gospel message. Do you know how he died?
This is why Nigerian Christianity is dead and has little to no social impact cos we act based on our African superstition seeking miracles and acting superhuman when we are just still actually humans. We don't react based on love but based on judgement.

God is merciful, for one to be mad is not the end of life, God has many ways of passing a message, those mad people could be healed for a second chance for repentance while some will not, if one dies as a sinner in his or her madness you know where he or she will eventually end up, but if someone has been healed of madness and repent you know where he or she will end up, being mad is not the end of life, he or she could still be healed and life continues, you remember the story of those families who were mad, God use people to assist them and now they are doing fine in that case once they repent they will eventually make it to heaven.

When one get saved it is only the spirit than is regenerated if flesh is not dealt with is can be obsess or oppressed by demons but that won't make the person unbeliever . if i may ask,have you suffered from headache before? Don't you know that by his strip we are healed (Isaiah 53:5) does suffering from headache make you an unbeliever? Mental people will be judged based on their last state of health. If they were unbelievers before they ran mad, then hell fire is truly theirs. As for if they were believers, I strongly believe a Christian cannot run mad. Madness has to do with a demon or demons possessing someone. But Christians have been bought by God and his spirit lives inside them. A demon cannot enter the house where the Holy Spirit resides. Any person who claims to be a Christian but ran mad was never a Christian. Such a person was rejecting Jesus while holding on to the idea that he could save himself by believing in works based salvation.

I just have to disconcur with you that a demon cannot enter the house where the Holy Spirit resides. Demons can enter anywhere, but it doesnt mean, they'll be comfortable and feel being at home wherever they enter, so demons doing visitation(s) shouldnt be mistook as demons taking up residence.

slogozer, you are a believer, that much I have gathered about you and so makes this response an easier task to do. Now if you know God that much and well enough, you will be the first to admit and acknowledge that God is a just and fair God, who is strictly honourable honest and without no injustice and unrighteousness in Him. Now if there is no wickedness or evil in God and because of this fact and truth, then there is no way God is going to permit anyone to be undeservedly destroyed.

Not all madness is demon programmed. Talking of conciousness, mad peopl still retain some degree of conciousness. A whole lot of them communicate effectively. They seems to favor peopl who show them kindness and avoid peopl who harrass them; implying ability to show discretion. I believe there wud be judgement for all. However standard may vary. What matters is what anyone does when they have the ability to do it. The fact that they may have chosen to repent or apostatize if they recovered from their insanity makes no difference for us as creatures. What the Bible teaches is just that while anyone is able to make a choice for or against Christ, they are better off making the choice for Him. If they don't, going insane after and dying without ever having another chance to repent will not save them. The converse is true too.
