Loco! why messing around with good thing. Not all stocks are for dividend. More so you have been around to know this of transcorp.

Is within his right to say anything that can make him buy at his target price but I doubt this stock will listen to him. Anybody that bought transcorp should have known it not a dividend paying company.

If u want to buy a company cos of dividend you go for zenith.

Transcorp fair price was below N1 for several years when mkt price was selling well above N1, it even cross N2 last year at 80k fair price. Now transcorp is selling at N1.71 below it fair price. Let wait and see Mr mkt reaction .

My gut feeling is that we are going to have a bull in the post presidential election period. If Atiku wins, bull would be a massive one compared to that which may occur if Buhari wins. Prices might be seen at levels were they were during the last general bull period. Selah.

Transcorp?

PE of over 7, profit margin over 5 years ranges between -2 to 10%. Current debt to assets of 34%, has a price to Book of 1.04, So what is undervalued about this stock currently?

lol! To the newbies, there are better companies fundamentally out there that have better stats than this stock, but didn't even move up in price like it. Except you know for certain that we will be having a Bull market, you have no business in this stock as at now. You are basically speculating, if you expect someone to buy it from you at a higher price.

That's my 1 kobo. Loco has said it all.

This was announced by the chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu around 2.45 am on Saturday, February 16, after he held an emergency meeting with security officials, election observers and other stakeholders.

He said proceeding with the election as scheduled is no longer feasible and as result of this, the election was postponed by a week. cool

Hmmm I bought then and sold off as my instincts does not just go with the stock. I like good dividend paying stocks if good dividend are declared, the price will rally and atleat GTb and Zenith have never disappointed me in this regard

oh, election postponed till next Saturday?
How I wish zenith will come back to 22 naira btw Monday and Wednesday so I can channel my latest proceeds to that side.

some stocks will receive beatings for failing to pay better dividend within this one week.

Zenith is good (dividend hunting) but as for Transcorp (capital appreciation) corporate hands waiting impatiently to grab any piece that drops from anyone. Closing (1.30pm - 2.30pm) drama yesterday speaks volume.

Your question should be why did I sell the stock when it was on bid.......

It is because I am sure of good result but not sure of good dividend due to huge os.I know the stock very well for some years now.
Loco Loco. Is this a strategy to create fear so you can jump back into transcorp?
That you have known a stock for some years does not mean the trend cant change or it can't do something differently again. Some have predicted wrongly these days as well.
We know the behaviour of your so called Zenith too; once they declare dividend people starts dumping it, so what do you say about that? grin
Transcorp is on its way to the top and anyone who rushes to sell (at loss) will be doing Loco a favour cos he'll be waiting somewhere to accumulate it cheaply. grin

Dividend is one side, price appreciation is another.
In terms of performance, transcorp did exceptionally well even if we look at the operating environment alone.
FBNH comes to mind in their 2017 FY result. Couldn't pay more than 10k which was understandable then cos there was the need to reinvest the profit. Did it appreciate in price afterwards? Yes sir! It's just a matter of time that it will move back to where it rightly belongs ...the Zenith category.
Make Una no mind my analogy o, I no too know book. grin

Nobody is saying transcorp is not a good stock, infact with the present results/great prospects surrounding the stock, it's a beautiful stock to have in one's portfolio (if gotten at a bargain), what we are saying is that judging by its year low(1.05),present dividend declared, a lot of uncertainties surrounding the market during this period, the current price (1.71) is still highly vulnerable (downside),.
Obviously FOMO, will come into play at first and possibly push the price up a little, but if we think big investors will not react to the declared dividend that would be untrue, with a ROE of 14%,compared to other stocks like nascon (42%),gtb(34%),caverton (96%),zenithbank (25%) and so on.
Picking it at a discount of 20% would not be a bad idea (at least that would be a reasonable margin of safety), Anyway lets watch how things unfold, NEVER SAY NEVER in Stock Market, who knows the price might even reach #5 with the present results ;DNobody is saying transcorp is not a good stock, infact with the present results/great prospects surrounding the stock, it's a beautiful stock to have in one's portfolio (if gotten at a bargain), what we are saying is that judging by its year low(1.05),present dividend declared, a lot of uncertainties surrounding the market during this period, the current price (1.71) is still highly vulnerable (downside),.

What you are saying is that you still want it at a bargain (20% down), Too late buyers have stepped in, the market has moved. Fair stocks are doing 10 - 30 % in a week now not to talk of Transcorp. It is better to buy when the market is going up. Bulls have defiled the current environment. Meaning that they see stability.

After discovering that almost 65% of Igbos who were decived by Nnamdi kanu has no pvc

Even this morning,I saw group of people saying Atiku will win.I moved closer and asked how many of you have pvc to vote,lo and behold only two of them.

How can we vote Atiku in when we are not eligible to vote.

Since morning,I have this strong feeling that Buhari is winning unless God says no.

Why is there no foreign interest in Transcorp? Only 0.18% shareholding by foreigners.

Foreign investors usually buy solid stocks with good track record of dividend payment (that's the way they hedge in case of eventualities), they wait and key into good stocks at low prices like nestle, GTB, NB, Stanbic, total, Mobil, zenithbank.
It is believed that no matter how high these stocks go, they will surely come down and that is when to buy.
These foreign investors don't aim too high, their funds making an average of 25% is a good enough for the year, so they don't buy and sell all the time. Capital preservation is the key word for them. These are my personal views, there may be other important factors than the one outlined
