There's a free online class which will be starting tomorrow for mbbs preclinical students (200L-300L) We'll be starting with anatomy for now and we'll be starting with upper limb so it's best if you're just starting preclinical work. Platform is whatsapp. Our videos, audios and texts are going to be received by whatsapp. It promises to be enlightening. You wouldn't want to miss out. It's totally free.
I can't paste the invite link here. If you're interested, send me your number so u can be added. My number is at my siggy.

ya microbiology is part of pathology but in my scul, it stands on its own as a course..you write seperate exams for it..
u mean u take 1st MBBS exams in 1st year(100level)??
Yes. 1st MBBS is taken in 1st year in my school. In fact, all the universities in the Eastern part of Nigeria take their 1st MBBS in 1st yr and 2nd MBBS in 3rd year. I know that you'll write separate exam for it, but it's still part of Pathology.

It's majorly one textbook example you can just use last for anatomy... Though there's reference and all that
Lol, not speaking from complete experience tho, rep mbbs 200l
it is not advisable to use Last anatomy, Keith Moore will give u all u need to know

No. I disagree. Keith Moore is too bulky and will consume your time. You might spend the whole of your preclinics reading while others are playing basketball and reading news. If you can't use last, your surebet is Gray's anatomy student version. Good book, good graphics and easy to understand.

This is just my opinion, I'm actually not a fan of big books. Moreover, I started using last in 2nd year. Never used anything else, save for few clinical notes on Richard Snell and rare occasion looked at pictures in Gray's. It worked for me. I got distinction in anatomy with ease, I'm serious when I say, with ease. Good luck.

u can only think Keith Moore is too bulky if u just want to pass anatomy and not know it deep..as for me I had time to read both my materials and Keith Moore, both upper, lower, thorax and abdomen and I did fine...I'm going to part 3 and I have started reading P&P before resumption. it's kinda easy if u plan to read it..where ur sch though?

Big book doesn't translate to big knowledge. Last might be smaller, but contains more information than Keith Moore.
Anyways we all follow the path that works for us. Good luck. Best wishes

I'm the kind of typical lazy medical student but I'd agree with you if you said Grays anatomy for students is the best out there. I think the book is very underrated TBVH. They start with some kind of summary to give you a broad view of the system and later go deep but not deeper than you need. first thing first though, you must be able to experiment and stick to what works for you. sadly, i discovered the book during the last system :Head and neck but it made the system so easy.
I read quite a number of Anatomy text though because I wasn't satisfied with them:
- Keith moore - absolute waste of time plus it's an overkill TBH
- Snells' - I love colours
- Vishram Singh - good but I couldn't trust an Indian text and I was forgetting so easily and terrible pictures too.
- Last- fantastic book, staight to the point but almost no pictures too so I had to juggle with netters which was time consuming and boring
-Tried the Huge Gray, was good at first and I loved their style of writting but no clinical correlates and It was MASSIVE. I was choking after some weeks until I found Grays anatomy for students
It was the game changer, my grades changed abit but i was studying with more ease and had more time to enjoy myself
- BRS + lecture materials + jottings = MB
Thank you very much.
You truly understand what it means to read and still enjoy your life. I loved the few pages of Gray's I flipped. Just that I discovered it late and I was already addicted to Last. But, truly it's highly underhyped

But Microbiology is part of Pathology. Why did you exclude it from the other 3? In my sch, 1st MBBS is taken in 1st yr, 2nd MBBS after 1st semester of 3rd yr, while Pathology and Pharmacology class starts from 2nd semester of 3rd yr.

I was just peeping...

as per your question on Gray's, I thought I was the only one loving that text despite last being all and all here in Uniport

the plan is to understand anatomy with Gray but prep for exams with last. So far you put it how last put it, they wouldn't know you read something else

That's the issue.
Reading one book, and reading another + lecture note again.. On only anatomy. Omoh.. Time is the issue. No time in college.

LMAO... I planned a timetable recently only to find out that I didn't allocate any time for sleep... Time is definitely an issue

but you can read Gray once or twice, last + notes + atlas for the rest

although, I have no idea what unn is throwing at you guys this semester, so maybe the above might not work for you.
