Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Eedric: 10:20am On Feb 25, 2019
My wife for a program in one of the college in Canada of which she has been giving admission to study construction management and I will be going with her as companion but we have been denied visa twice now and due to this denial we requested for gcms note as to details of what really went going with the application and to my greatest surprise what was stated wasn't even different from the points they initially stated.
The points are as follows
Travel history
Purpose of visit
Assets
However,my question is that how would I go about this issue before rasing another application and also I will be attaching a copy of the GCMS NOTE for proper interpretation cos is not really clear to me cos apart from the three points there are some points .
Furthermore, there is place inside the gcms note they said NOTE: The name on the application changed mean while both the old and new are the same. To this effect I couldn't understand what they really mean with this statement .
2 I will try to send gcms note for proper interpretation and clear understanding

It all depends on what he wants to study in his second degree, the connection it has with the first , how superior it is to the first and how hes able to convince the Vo in his Sop.
I know for instance if you did Bsc in Physiology or Anatomy you can go for another Bsc in Nursing Or Medicine. There are all medically related and you can easily convince the Vo probably by saying u wana secure a better place in the health sector. So u still have a chance... If you studied Physics , you can go for another degree in Electrical Engineering...

University of British Columbia (UBC) waives application fee for Nigerian citizens.

Frankrobbn1:

Yes majority of schools in Canada require application fees. Only on a rare occurrence will schools like university of Saskatchewan and some others waive application fees on behalf of the applicant.

Hello guys...pls are there applicants from may/june/july who haven't heard from the embassy...and those that have been observing the trend what can you tell from the approvals or denials you have seen...
I applied in june, i know i can't get 100%answers from here (as this is not the embassy...lol) but the little i can, i would appreciate. Thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Mudicua: 1:00pm On Feb 25, 2019
Likewise here. I applied July 30th and did biometrics August 1st. Still on background check... like nothing is happening. I sent an email when it was on the 16th week and got the generic response. Upfront medicals was done in December. Application updated to medicals passed about a week plus later. Till date nothing. Last week I eventually applied for GCMS notes to find out exactly what's going on. Hopefully in a month's time it will give an insight if my application is not yet attended to by then.
As for the trend, hmmm I do not know if there is any pattern, but most of the applicants in that period May/June/July got positive responses. I have only seen a couple of denials and it is not like their applications were not properly done. So we cannot really tell.
Hopefully everything will end in praise for us all still waiting.

Thanks for your response. can we talk pls

How do u mean recall? You can only withdraw ur application with convincing reasons sent to the embassy why you wanna withdraw ur application, and they will either grant or not grant ur request.. But in ur case, I will advise you write them asap concerning the errors made in ur application, so it wont have a negative outcome in ur application. If I may ask, whats errors are you talking about?

Hi Amahjosh,

In respect to your questions, please find the following answers below:

1-) You have to draw a family tree that will encapsulate how your father and his cousin (uncle) is related. First, you have to start by demonstrating the relationship between your grandfather and your (sponsor's) grandfather with the rest of the family members down to your generation. See attached at the last page of this post a copy of a family tree you can use it as guide when constructing yours. While doing this, try as much as you can to establish a strong proof of relationship between you and your sponsor, by including your father's age declaration, int'l passport bio data page and sponsor int'l passport bio data page.

2-) Having your sponsor to pay for your tuition fees from his account isn't a red flag to your visa application rather it gives a practical exhibition that funds will be accessible and available to you the principal applicant. It further goes a long way to show your sponsor (uncle) financial commitment, genuineness and eagerness to finance your study in Canada.

3-) These are the list of DOCUMENTS you need from your sponsor (uncle).

4-) BREAK DOWN BETWEEN ONLINE ROUTE AND PAPER ROUTE

i)The online route no one will correct your mistakes like it is done on paper route where VFS workers will make sure your papers are complete and arranged accordingly before submission.

ii) If you have access to a scanner and a desktop/system, online route is okay. Bear in mind, you will need to compress and merge your documents to 4MB before you can be able to upload them on your MyCIC account and also have your Naira debit card handy in order to complete payment. On the other hand, the paper route you are to pay at the counter in the VFS office.

III) The online route, upon successful submission of your application, you will receive a notification a day or 2 days as the case maybe at times might stay up to a week to proceed for your biometrics. Whilst, the paper route, you will complete everything that very day at the VFS office, then wait for the outcome of your application.

IV) Finally, Online route is cost (65-66k) for first timers. Whereas, paper route cost (68-69k) for first time applicant.

So it's left for you to decide which best suit you. Be properly guided that none of the above routes (paper and online) have any added advantage to your TRV application.

5-) You will have enormous explanation to give should you opt for a second degree instead of a PGD reasons being that you will have to cover up for your study gaps. What were you up to/doing since you last left highschool until now?. I believe your sole purpose of coming here is to seek for advice. Hence, I will advice you from the wisdom of my experiences which I enjoyed for over the years that you should go ahead and apply for your visa with the PGD acceptance letter from George Brown College(GBC) and explain in your SOP how the program will be beneficial to your career and how it will be translated to your home country for the benefit of others.

I drop my pen!

Best of luck!

Please will I have to pay the cost of transmitting my passport to the embassy at VFS Global, if I applied via the online route?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Pinky16: 6:52pm On Feb 25, 2019
Please, do I need to write another SOP for the visa application or same that I submitted to my school before gaining admission.
Secondly, my total funding is about 18.780 CAD per annum...do I still need to provide account statement. Can it cover for me and my spouse? If not, like how much should we have in our accounts to qualify.

Also, my spouse is a lawyer, will his/her stamp/seal or call certificate substitute for all those company documents. Then, the visa application fee will it be paid double(husband and wife) or as a single applicant for couple. Then what are the picture size to print, and what background colour shoul the digital passport be?

Finally, what is pay stubs for four months. (Stubs of what precisely) and what are the CIC documents?
