Senatorkolade:
Does anyone has an idea on how to convince lll Visa Officer on why he is not studying Environmental Science in Nigeria.

Senatorkolade.

Have you been admitted in a school in Canada. If yes, please state the school and also state if the program has a project or research option. This will guide how you will write your SOP.

Thank you very much @austacus. I find it really helpful and will do the best I can to strengthen my next application. As for the degree type, my cgpa is 2.84/5.0 which isn't enough to get me in for MSc so I'm opting for a Post Graduate Certificate in GIS. So no more Diploma. Not going down that route anymore.
Then the travel issue point, I have been to at least 5 states- Lived in Lagos for more than 20 yrs since 1992. Moved to Rivers state in 2013. I served as a corp member in Nasarawa state 2010/2011 which gave me the opportunity to visit FCT. Lastly, I schooled in UNN.
That's basically my local travel history grin
Austacus:

Lemme give you my itsy-bitsy advise...
Change to Pgd/c or MSC.

If the diploma is working 5 years ago, sorry the system is as hard as nails now.

To the VO, your career is retrogressing (Bsc-Diploma) nonetheless diploma is kinda common in Nigeria (very rampant) you don’t even need to attend university, poly or college of edu to get it here, there are so many small institutes in Nigeria that you can do diploma in less than 4-month self.

Now for the travel history, insofar as travel history cannot be the reason for the refusal, don’t ignore it in your next application try and tackle it by saying you love traveling but You haven’t got the opportunity to travel abroad, have traveled locally in Nigeria (mention 6-7 states in Nigeria and explain the purpose of your travel to each of the states).

They must-have slammed you with the purpose of Visit and travel history in your refusal letter.

Just to let you know if you tackle the purpose of visit even without tackling travel history, it will be waived.

PS: YOU DONT NEED TO TRAVEL TO TOPNOTCH COUNTRIES because of your ”travel history” but you stand a better chance if you do.

Where you have work to do is the ”purpose of visit” as highlighted in your Gcms.

Bless you

@raymondrain
Please kindly share your profile for further Help from peeps here. The reasons of the refusal is too much to me.
Kindly share your profile.

I hope you've ordered your Gcms note if you want to reapply

Sorry bro,

You can also think Australia (as a student you are eligible to apply for PR and there are good paying jobs in Aussie)

Hello everyone! My LGA is sponsoring me for a degree program. Please does anyone know the documents from the LGA to submit for TRV processing? I'd appreciate your reply.

IRCC doesn’t fancy NDDC scholarship anymore so what made you think they will fancy your LGA scholarship?

Think bout it!

Any May / June still in the house ?
I am June 21 Still

Those applications have been sent to secondary review.
Generally, if you check your Gcms note you will see review is required that’s when the primary VO is not very clear and let's his senior decide on the matter who is more experienced and knowledgeable than him.

So if you haven’t seen your Gcms note, omo you get mind oooo. By now May/june/july hopefuls should know what they are expecting from them or what they are trying to find out.

A secondary review doesn’t take more than 6 months.
Though there's no specific processing time for secondary review.

Need to be bombarding emails and webforms like every week to those people

It's not about bombarding emails to them or webforms.
It's about giving them what they want or help them to haste it up.

Sending those email in act of sentiments is a waste of time cause they will ignore you or you will get the generic response.

Give them what they want and reorder for your gcms to know the progress of the application, after that, they will adjust, then you give it to them again and reorder for gcms note.

I know it's maddening but think of the bigger picture here.. few days/weeks down the line , all this will fade away and you will get busy in a new country.. till then, enjoy what you have, spend time with your family, the ones who will be left behind....

I know someone with the NDDC scholarship who is currently trying to use it in a university in Canada. Are you trying to imply that it won't be honoured?

I have a serious challenge and hope I can get advised accordingly:
I currently have an admission by an agent (university of Regina -certificate course in Health Studies)but I am thinking is it possible to differ a certificate course upon landing in Canada..
Pls any advice from the gurus

Try and have some patience interpreting context. I was referring to the IRCC honouring the NDDC scholarship since you implied they wouldn't honour LGA sponsorship

Paying tuition does not guarantee ur Visa.. We have seen peeps here getting their Visa without paying chichi to the school they applied to.. And we have seen peeps paying full tuition and still got refused. You can go ahead to pay ur tuition tho, if thats what u want, but make sure u know the refund policy of the school.. Peace
thanks

Thank you, sir!

I hope you know some schools in Canada do require sponsorship?
They want to know your sponsors' capability (eg account statement, supporting documents, paying tuition fee etc) before they could approve the admission.
Anyways, bye!

It takes an average of 35 days to 40 days before you can start sending them an email.
But just hope on 1 month or less.

You asked a question yesterday concerning paying of tuition fee.

Inasmuch as paying of tuition fee is not prerequisite to visa approval.

Just to let you know all cases ain't the same.

If you check your refusal letter, it's clearly stated. the Visa officer that handled your application want you to pay your tuition fee.

So the choice is yours. (I would advise you to pay your tuition fee, then you have only two refusal ground to tackle in your next application cause travel history is not a problem).

For a better understanding, wait till you get your Gcms note.

Bless you

No sir!
You can't do that (you only have 20 hrs to work per week as a student)

Get your visa first.

Good luck

Hi, so, I have been requested to take a medical examination. How many weeks will it to facilitate next steps? Is there anyone that applied to NSCC? I haven't found anyone on this thread..... Thank you....oh, good afternoon.

I read it earlier on this thread that doing such violates your study permit and you will be deported. But Id advise you not to differ, because you get 20 hours of work time during school sessions and full time during holidays. You can read the study permit policy and interpret it yourself.

Was wondering because a student going for an undergraduate degree can differ but a certificate course can't.... Pls shed more light

Differing a programme, in my opinion, should be as a result of either not getting your permit on time to meet up with school resumption, or some other major event. Once you get your study permit, from what I've read so far, you can't travel and decide to differ it. This most likely goes for every educational institution.

This is my own thought, and is subject to scrutiny.
