I appreciate your input. I don't know if it's possible to raise that kind of fund from nairaland. I can prove my story anyways so long my identity is protected because of the stigma associated with the disease.

Thanks do you have info on how I can go about this
I plan to tell my story some day and also establish a Hepatitis awareness center.

Types and causes
Viral infections of the liver that are classified as hepatitis include hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E. A different virus is responsible for each type of virally transmitted hepatitis.

Hepatitis A is always an acute, short-term disease, while hepatitis B, C, and D are most likely to become ongoing and chronic. Hepatitis E is usually acute but can be particularly dangerous in pregnant women.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A is caused by an infection with the hepatitis A virus (HAV). This type of hepatitis is most commonly transmitted by consuming food or water contaminated by feces from a person infected with hepatitis A.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with infectious body fluids, such as blood, vaginal secretions, or semen, containing the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Injection drug use, having sex with an infected partner, or sharing razors with an infected person increase your risk of getting hepatitis B.

It’s estimated by the CDC that 1.2 million people in the United States and 350 million people worldwide live with this chronic disease.

Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C comes from the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Hepatitis C is transmitted through direct contact with infected body fluids, typically through injection drug use and sexual contact. HCV is among the most common bloodborne viral infections in the United States. Approximately 2.7 to 3.9 million Americans are currently living with a chronic form of this infection.

Hepatitis D

Also called delta hepatitis, hepatitis D is a serious liver disease caused by the hepatitis D virus (HDV). HDV is contracted through direct contact with infected blood. Hepatitis D is a rare form of hepatitis that only occurs in conjunction with hepatitis B infection. The hepatitis D virus can’t multiply without the presence of hepatitis B. It’s very uncommon in the United States.

Hepatitis E

Hepatitis E is a waterborne disease caused by the hepatitis E virus (HEV). Hepatitis E is mainly found in areas with poor sanitation and typically results from ingesting fecal matter that contaminates the water supply. This disease is uncommon in the United States. However, cases of hepatitis E have been reported in the Middle East, Asia, Central America, and Africa, according to the CDC.

Autoimmune Hepatitis

Autoimmune hepatitis is a rare form of chronic hepatitis. Like other autoimmune disorders, its exact cause is unknown. Autoimmune hepatitis may develop on its own or it may be associated with other autoimmune disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus. In autoimmune disorders, a misdirected immune system attacks the body’s own cells and organs (in this case the liver).

Symptoms
When symptoms occur, they can include:

Jaundice (a yellowing of the skin and eyes)
Abdominal pain
Loss of appetite
Nausea and vomiting
Diarrhea
Fever
Clay-colored bowel movements
Painful joints

Yellowing of skin and eye

Complications of hepatitis
Chronic hepatitis B or C can often lead to more serious health problems. Because the virus affects the liver, people with chronic hepatitis B or C are at risk for:

Chronic liver disease
Cirrhosis
Liver cancer
When your liver stops functioning normally, liver failure can occur. Complications of liver failure include:

Bleeding disorders
A buildup of fluid in your abdomen, known as ascites
Increased blood pressure in portal veins that enter your liver, known as portal hypertension
Kidney failure
Hepatic encephalopathy , which can involve fatigue, memory loss, and diminished mental abilities due to the buildup of toxins, like ammonia, that affect brain function
Hepatocellular carcinoma, which is a form of liver cancer
Death
People with chronic hepatitis B and C are encouraged to avoid alcohol because it can accelerate liver disease and failure. Certain supplements and medications can also affect liver function. If you have chronic hepatitis B or C, check with your doctor before taking any new medications.

High fever is actually one of the symptoms Hepatitis and not the cause. God be with us all

Good day fam.

Please help me with suggestions, I was having stomach discomfort, went for normal check up and I was told I tested positive to hepatitis C. (never heard of it before now) thought it was something I'd just take drugs but doctor said its a viral infection and explained to me after that I was shocked and felt very bad.

I went to 3 different labs again, 2 came out positive, I negative. Then I went back to my doctor, he said I should go for viral load test that it will cost about 30k for the test.

The doctor also said they have treatment but a month will cost me 170k and the treatment will last for 6months (that's over 1 million)

I can't afford that money and he also said that after treatment my test will always be positive but the viral load will be zero (meaning that I will be free of the virus but that the result will always be positive)

I have done some research and I noticed hepatitis c affects the liver, there are some people online that claim they have the drugs and that at the end of using their drug, I will never test positive to the virus again.

I am devastated and confused, depressed is an understatement. Please any experienced doctor or pharmacy or anyone that ever experienced such or know someone.

Please save my life....

Dont worry. U would be fine. Pls run to NIMR(Nigeria institute of medical research) yaba, , lagos. They are the best in dealing with Hepatitis B and C. Its also a research center so u would be getting up to date information and treatment. Pls take this advice. From there, they would refer u to a standard lab such as mecure for the tests, then u come back with the result and they would advice u appropriately whether u need treatment or not.

I hope you are OK. Stop jumping into conclusion like puma. I work in a teaching hospital and I have direct link with the organization I mentioned . I already told him what he needs to know , I can attend to him , link him to the clinic or take is blood sample online but if I can direct him to where he can get the same subsidized care in case he is not in Lagos. If I ask or had intention of asking him for money let God judge me and God Judge you too if you are wrong in this your accusation. Your kind made it difficult for people to help others.e-diot

You are a scammer ...a bloody evil human being. Whatever you want to tell him in secret tell him here. Whatever hospital or link you want to give him, mention it in the open if your intentions are not evil. A lot of Nigerians are so cruel. It's just so annoying when I see people blame and curse out our leaders meanwhile majority of the masses are even more evil. Just look at the thread and see How they are all claiming to have solutions they can only mention in private. Tweh!!

Hepatitis C should only be managed by a sound health practitioner. Please, do not patronise all these online medicine men or practise self medication. Remember, hepatitis attacks the liver, so please do not stress or cause more harm by your actions. Stop alcohol intake and smoking if you currently indulged in them. Practise safe sex, and check your viral load. Hepatitis C has the normal strain and the fulminant strain. Reinfection usually makes it fulminant and that is very dangerous. Have lost 2 close friends to this disease and they both did self medication, indulge in alcohol and smoking. I still have people around me living healthily with it for decades. So, please go back to the hospital and follow through with treatment and counselling. You will be okay.

Re: I Tested Positive To Hepatitis C by Natpat: 9:29pm On Mar 11, 2019
There is no need for concern. Ensure you do the viral loading test before you take any further step. The result of the viral loading test may even dictate that you do not need to do anything. Another thing, if you're married or you live with relations, encourage them to undergo hepatitis vaccination. It is free in some public hospitals. This will ensure they are not infected through you or any other person. If you're are in Lagos, there is a Specialist in Egbeda area of Lagos that is an authority on hepatitis. You can google Dr. Onigbinde. He has written some books on that subject matter.

All the best!

SO SORRY MY DEAR. HOW EVER IS NOT AS BAD AS U THINK OKKK...

NOW LISTEN GOOD. FLEE FROM THAT DR WHO WAS MENTIONING MILLIONS FOR U OKKK. GO TO LASUTH IKEJA, LUTH IDIARABA, GBAGADA GENERAL HOSP. ETC IF U ARE IN LAGOS.

WHEN U GET A CARD, REQUEST TO BE REFEREED TO A GASTROENTEROLOGIST.
B4 GOING, ENSURE U GO WITH THE RESULT OF A VIRAL LOAD.

STARTING U ON TREATMENT DEPENDS ON THE VIRAL LOAD OKK..IF THE LOAD IS NOT UP TO A WHO DEFINED MARGIN, U DON'T NEED ANY DRUG YET IT MEANS UR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS STRONG ENOUGH TO FIGHT IT. UR IMMUNE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE CARE OF IT.
HOWEVER, IF IT IS ABOVE IT, U NEED TO START TREATMENT WITH ANTIVIRAL AGENTS. WHICH R QUIET REGULATED BY GOVERNMENT TO AVOID ABUSE AND RESISTANCE.

THEY ARE WAY WAY WAY LESSER THAN THE FIGURES U WERE TOLD PLEASE. MAKE NO MISTAKES ABOUT THAT OKK.
ALSO THAT PERSON TELLING THEY WILL TREAT U CHEAPER AND IT WILL GO AND U WONT TEST POSITIVE AGAIN IS A THIEF. FLEE FROM HIM HE IS A JOBER. HE DOESN'T KNOW WHATS HEPATITIS C VIRUS OKK.

SO U CAN GET VIRAL LOAD DONE AT AIR FORCE HOSPITAL IKEJA AT A CHEAPER RATE OK....THEN GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH A CONSULTANT GASTROENTEROLOGIST IN ANY OF THE GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS I MENTIONED ABOVE U HEAR.

THE COST OF THOSE DRUGS ARE WAY LESS THAN WHAT THE DUDE WANTS TO COLLECT FROM U PLEASE.

THE ESSENCE OF THIS POST IS TO TELL U THAT:

1. IS NOT SO MUCH A BIG DEAL AS HEPATITIS C VIRUS DOESN'T HAVE STIGMA LIKE HIV.
2. IS NOT QUICK TO SPOIL SOMETHING
3. U CAN LIVE AND DO AND ACHIEVE ALL U WANT ON EARTH WITH IT.

4. IF U EVENTUALLY START TREATMENT, U CAN GET VIRALY SUPPRESSED IN 6 MONTHS ALTHOUGH THE ANTIBODIES WILL STILL BE CIRCULATING IN UR BLOOD TO FIGHT FURTHER RISE OR REPLICATION OF THIS VIRUS IN UR BODY.

THESE ANTIBODIES ARE ACTUALLY WHAT THE TEST DETECTS AS POSITIVE OKKK. SO IS NOTHING TO WORRY SO MUCH ABOUT.

OP...These are the kind of people you should listen to. Very sincere and straight forward.

Get some leaves of cashew, and all ingredients of jundice, add a handful of cutton wool seed, unripe pieanaple. Add water and boil it, take 4 glass cup a day for a month. You will not hear of it again and when you go for test it will surely be negative. I am saying this from a live experience, tested, used and trusted.
