Stop lying Mr Man. I am a medical laboratory scientist. At my diagnostic center in Lagos, viral load is 36k.

Hepatitis B and C are highly prevalent in Lagos. Unfortunately, no one is talking about it. On average, 3 in 10 persons that comes for serology test are positive for either hepatitis B or C. Most commonly route for this viral infection is through sex. Though blood transfusion account for a small percentage (especially unscreened blood).

Guys!! Stay away from unprotected sex. Stop given your friends keys to your bedroom to have sex with call-girls. Vaginal or penile Secretions from positive individuals ( on the mattress or bedsheets) if in contact with broken skin may lead to Establishment of hepatitis C.

Unfortunately, Hepatitis C Virus has no cure but could be managed.

I only know that its mode of transmission is similar to that of hiv and its deadlier than hiv in terms of effect.

You dont have to have an open cut/wound before contacting it unlike hiv, but by touching the blood of an infected person.

Whenever any healthcare worker want to attend to you, observe the glove and make sure it hasnt been used before or check out for bloodstains on it.

My brother, the matter tire me o, even my liver is ok, viral quantity just 744. The thing just matter me. They did not even mention anything to me o. But i saw the test they did for me during confirmatory test, that was what prompt me to go for my personal test. Well, i have no plan to sue, God will give me a better offer

The doctor also said they have treatment but a month will cost me 170k and the treatment will last for 6months (that's over 1 million)

I can't afford that money and he also said that after treatment my test will always be positive but the viral load will be zero (meaning that I will be free of the virus but that the result will always be positive)

I have done some research and I noticed hepatitis c affects the liver, there are some people online that claim they have the drugs and that at the end of using their drug, I will never test positive to the virus again.

I am devastated and confused, depressed is an understatement. Please any experienced doctor or pharmacy or anyone that ever experienced such or know someone.

You are lucky you don't have hepatitis B, C has a cure but the drugs are expensive as you rightly said. I think the government should come in create more awareness about this virus and subsidise the drugs.

The 1m treatment is the correct one if it's actually viral hepatitis. There are other forms of hepatitis like alcohol induced or fatty liver. Make sure you confirm which one but if you have had sex without condom then it's viral hepatitis. To treat is expensive but it's curable.

Went for my personal test, liver is perfectly ok. Though, i immediately option for tradomedical sha, still on it o but God have been faithful. Sent you a pm, please reply

While you go to hospitals, also go to any market in Lag where the old women sell vegetables. Ask for efo Odu. Buy a lot. Wash, squeeze and extract into bottles and keep refrigerated. Just keep drinking this. Don't eat protein and oils...drink glucose D. Do this now before you start feeling weak. Two medical doctors in navy hospital said there is cure. They also told me the price for the drugs 170k each month for 6months.

My niece started her treatment two weeks ago, provided your leaver is not affected the scan will tell you. the test + scan was not more than 12k and the recommended drugs for one month is less than 5k. Visit any FMC near you

Google Eyin Elobe. Also, also approach alagbo, dem go charge you o. Still on my medication though my case is not a serious one. Also do LFT to make sure your liver has not be affected

When u come out of yaba tech and walk to that express where there are buses, dont cross.just ask any bus on the express way. Its a popular place. Google them up for land marks and all. Trust me Lasuth and the rest sometimes refer people there. Disregard most advice u have read here. Most are rumours and unfounded. Dont worry u would soon forget u have anything like that with the right medical counsel. Sleep easy tonight. U would be fine. Just know that next steps are as follows:

1. Go to NIMR or a teaching hospital but i atrongly recommend NimR.
2. U would be referred to a standard lab to take viral load tests and some other tests such as liver test and all.
3. U would return back to hospital so that based on the tests, the doctor would recommend treatment, appropriate drugs or maybe no treatment atall depending on the result. They may just counsel u and allay ur fears. Cheers

Had a Chinese friend with this illness , first go online Google on hep c alot of information are out there, you can live a normal life with it, just change your life eating and drinking habit get involve in yoga first, take alot of water, at least 3 to 4litre daily, try reading about the type of food u should eat, would advice u do that for 6months and go back for a test, think the whole idea is living a healthy life, no acohol,more water , lots of vegetable, exercise daily, just keep your liver working very well it can help to resist symptoms of the desease

Did you do sex without condom or blood transfusions ? Hepatitis C transmits like HIV, any of the two above, you got the virus. Though the virus could stay upto 20 yrs without harming you but after 20yrs it will be bad. The earlier you eliminate it the better. Start saving money.
