Pls what's the advantage of visa 489 over visa 190 I mean the benefits like health insurance etc
Nicoletheo:
Hello Fam,

Greetings to all.

Please what is positive skills assessment? I am 31 years old and single.

Going by the first page on this thread, see my status below.

Please feel free to advice me on any pitfalls to avoid. Kindly advice on the next steps

1. Check if your occupation is on the occupation list
ICT Business Analysts(Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) ANZSCO codes assessed by the ACS)

2. Go to the website of the assessing body for your occupation for information about the assessment process
Assessing body = ACS. Fee costs $500 Current Stage

3. Write English test. This step can come before skills assessment, it depends on the requirements of the assessing body for your occupation. Some do not require English test for assessment while others do.
Proficient English(You have achieved a score of at least 7 in each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing) in an International English )
Score: L7, R6, W7.5, S8. Would rewrite IELTS

4. Once you get positive skills assessment, submit an expression of interest (EOI) here if you have minimum of 60 points for 189, 55 for 190 and 50 for 489.
What is positive skills assessment??
Age = 30points
Skilled employment in the last 10 years – outside Australia - 10points
A Bachelor degree from an Australian educational institution or a Bachelor qualification, from another educational institution that is of a recognised standard. 15
To rewrite IELTS

5. If applying for 190 or 489, ensure a state is sponsoring your occupation before going ahead with the process.

6. After submitting EOI, wait for invitation to apply for the visa

7. Invitation received, apply for the visa and sit back till DHA finalises your application.

8. Grant received, pack your belongings and move.

Tnx for your response I'm actually new...pls I need infor on visa 489 I know it state sponsored with 10points but what's the limitations...
stifo2012:
First and foremost, you need to read up the page 1 of the previous thread to better understand the whole process.

Find out the occupation from https://www.anzscosearch.com/mltssl/ which best descries and corresponds with what you do.

For the 190 visa, you can apply to multiple states as long as they are sponsoring it

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Wesrene: 1:28pm On Mar 21, 2019
Pls what is pro-rata occupation?
meelife:
Thanks for the clarification.
So it means such job code can't apply for PR under the 189,190 and 489 subclass.
Should someone complete a Masters programme in Australia for this job code can the person apply for PR or same conditions apply?

You can write your CDR either using your experience or school project. A positive assessment is dependent on the quality of the CDR you write.

I'm currently self employed (fashion designing). I've been doing this for almost 3years now, after I left the Ministry of Health.

I do hope you are aware Food Technologist has been added to the MTSSL list.

You said you studied FST. Qualification assessment should be positive, not sure about work experience.

I think they want to abolish visa. Class 489 and replace with another regional visa that will require holders to stay in regional areas for 3 years as against 2 years.Though this is supposed to take effect from November 2019.I suspect regional authorities might slow down visa Nomination for 489 .

Not really sure it will affect 489 visa that much, rather it will affect 189 visa the most..Don't know if this screen shot is authentic though..
@Bellong what's your take on this?

Please, I studied FST and i am a production manager of one organisation. I was planning on assessing as a Production manager(manufacturing)..

What do you think? Which occupation is better? Food technologist or Production manager?
Which one will be more favorable?

Production manager is on STSOL, while FST is on MTSSL, I'll suggest you assess on the latter.
Check the anzco code for FST,https://www.anzscosearch.com/221111#no-access
if the roles and duties relates to what you did in production you can assess towards it. Not sure if job title will be must even if roles are same or related.
Ask @bellong, he may have more info as regards your quest.

Hello great minds, please i need help. AACA has asked that i provide an address in Australia where they can send my assessment outcome letter to since i can't receive the one they sent to Nigeria for like a month now. Please i need someone who can receive this letter for me and then scan it to me. Please note that AACA does not post assessment outcome by email hence, the reason for the whole stress. Thanks in anticipation.

@dikachi12

There is no possibility of such ban...
You are only banned by EA from assessing with EA.
If you decide to go with VETASSES, you should be fine and well within your right to do.
