Hello House, sorry I haven’t being activity .. the weather here makes it tough as 24 hours will zap in your yes..
I am in a location where it’s still snowing..

If you are coming to Canada, please make sure your study permit says you can work full time for 40 hour during breaks and 20 hour during sections especially those coming through Toronto.. NaijaForeigner said this

I came in through Montreal and can say the PoE was smooth was done under 15min( took that long cos the officer that was attending to me was lost, so another officer had to put him through)

I wish all TrV hopeful success from the likes of Austacus, 042viber and the names I can’t remember..Studies here ain’t beans especially if you not funded... cos me I can’t do 6 semester straight

Greeting from Corner Brook, Newfoundland

Honestly International students are rich ... I am just here wondering how people do it. People pay about 16,000CAD (in colleges) x 2 = 32,000CAD (8 months program back to back).

There is a Nairalander here who attends UWO and pays 30,000CAD for just 12 months taught masters (about 8.5M). This is without accommodation and feeding money. Honestly, international students dey try. How many people can afford this?

An Indian friend told me most of them get student loans with interest. I wish Nigerian banks can do that as well for students. God help us

Please feel free, we've all been there. Yes it's a long process, but start first. Everything might take 3days or 3weeks. It depends on how much preparation you put in. But START so you know the documents you need. There are 4 stages.
The first is the questionnaire stage. They ask all sort of questions. This determines whether you are eligible for what you are applying for. If you're eligible youre moved to the 2nd stage.
2nd stage present you with about 4-6 different application forms.
3rd stage is preparation of all the documents you're attaching to the forms in your 2nd stage. You need passport photo according to their specification. Acceptance letter from school, Bio data page of International passport, Proof of finance i.e Statement of account of yourself or your sponsor, CLIENT INFORMATION statement of purpose (SOP) or LETTER OF EXPLANATION (LOE) and so on.
The 4th stage is payment. YOU CAN NOT GET TO THIS STAGE IF YOU DO NOT PROPERLY FILL THE FORMS. IT WILL NOT SHOW THE PAYMENT LINK.
AND IT IS WHEN YOU START YOU WILL GET TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I'VE STATED SO FAR.
Cheers.

Its valid for 10 years from July 2018.. That was the reaosn you were asked to do it again..
Gunit87:
please I submitted my application online 2 days after that I was requested to pay $85 for biometrics before they could proceed with my application despite the fact that I did biometrics 2 years ago for a study permit which was refused. I think biometrics is valid for 10 years, why the request to pay again?? Kindly advise please....

Good evening,

I am a silent reader on on this platform, I can see the frustration of May/June/July applicant awaiting decision, I applied June and had same issue, I had to send a new LOA few days ago and surprisingly my medical Request pulped up. I advise you send a new LOA if your former letter has expired. Best of luck to us all.

sorry for that you would have printed the page showing your medicals is still valid and added. it is not too late you can still do that but I am afraid it would delay your application a bit

Sorry its not medicals, its Biometrics. Meanwhile, I paid the $85 now but my concern is why requesting again when validity is 10 years.

I applied thrice and did biometrics thrice; twice in 2017 and one in 2018. Please do the biometrics, I don't think they want to scam you. The longer this waits, the longer the start of your application processing is delayed.
Good luck.

Gunit87:
Congrats Tobiloba, please did you pay another $85 for biometrics? This is my second application and they sent me a message today to pay $85 and attach the receipt before they can proceed with my application. first application was May 2017 and second application was March 31 2019. Please advise... thanks..

Hello fam

Please the gurus in the house should throw more light on this.

I want to ask a question,

I am self sponsored own a tech business which has been running for some time now, the inflow and outflow in my company's account and my personal account is good but the balance after paying my 1st semester tuition fee is not encouraging. I applied for a 1 year PGD in GB College

My estimated cost of studies is 23,940 CAD for 1 year PGD program. I have paid 8476 CAD as 1st semester fees and the balance tuition fee is 15464 CAD plus living expenses 10,000 CAD which makes it 25464 CAD approximately 7M naira

How much am I to get in my account I currently have roughly 6.5M in both my personal and my business account

As the owner of the business and sole signatory to the business account I am transferring most funds to my personal account for my studies. Is it advisable to apply for my study permit with an SOA that has 6.5M

Please I need your advice, am abit confused my program is starting by September 3rd 2019.

Please is it advisable to do medical after submission of application before you are requested to do so.
Please any one in the house with such experience.
Help me

Hi! From personal experience, I advise you either do an upfront medical and submit together with your application at once or wait until you’re requested to do so, in order to avoid delay in your application.

Thanks alot for your kind response I'm very grateful

JustMellow:

The pages holding the travel stamps is very essential to your application: include it, likewise the bio-data page of the renewed PP.

BTW there would be no need including the old bio-data page as you would be filling in the old PP number likewise the new PP number in one of the IMM forms BUT including the old PP bio-data page doesn't exercise any ruins.

Good morning. Before paying the 85 dolls, I think it’s best you check the validity of your biometric on cic website. I didn’t pay additional money for my application because I’d applied in 2016. It shows valid

Omonoba1981:
As you all know, my application is almost heading for a year now. I had my brother called IRCC office in Canada. The person he spoke with say nothing they can do as they cant see application handled outside of Canada and said only Government office that can contact immigration office outside of Canada.

So we gave a MP office a call who promise to check what is happening. This was yesterday, and he responded to my mail the next day. Below
is his response

Any update yet? Do you know any one who can suggest what next to do. My GCMS notes didn't make any sense either.
