It could be difficult to take him to AFCON. Kalu Samuel, Onyekuru, Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa will be hard to be dropped for him.

That is one thing they fail to understand. Even if they manage to squeeze him in he will spend most of the AFCON on the bench.

I have kukuma said my own about Chukwueze and the U20 WC and AFCON. The major challenge is if Villa Real can release him for the U20WC because the La liga season will be at the critical tail end when the WYC will be commencing.

Today is friday, i wanna have a cool weekend please, odn't wanna have any e-fight today.
but still from my post/comment what was my offence Mr. Fighter?

if you are employed for the Job you will do better because that will be your means of livelihood.

you will put in so much commitment into it, many in the academics are still within the age of 18-19 years old. michael just called into the team was discovered in like manner, can't he do same ?

This man is a round peg in a square hole, it won't fit

Chairman make una no fight Abeg.

The U20 is not for academy players. It is mostly for young senior team professionals. However, highly talented academy players that can compete well at this age grade can be included.

U20 is for young professionals...Messi was already signed and playing for Barcelona yet beat us in the final....Chukwueze is playing for a smaller club compared to Barcelona...ARGENTINA s Correa,Aguero,Columbia s Rodriguez,Quintero, etc were already first team players sef yet played in u20...

We need to win this u20 willy nilly...

Chukwueze is not the first to be shifted like that...i remember Kanu Nwankwo...after 1993 u17 triumph..Westerhof invited him to Super Eagles...then he went sent to u20...at a time Ajax blocked him from going to Mauritius 93...i think so..another player sent to u20 was Celestine Babayaro but Anderlect blocked him..If Samu can help us win the cup...why not? It is not an insult...look at the current german u20...they are all first team players in their Bundesliga clubs...playing for two to three season now while Samu just started playing la Liga this season...Samu has just played one friendly match for us..not even competitive game...HE MUST WIN U20 FOR US BEFORE WE CAN CALL HIM GREAT...

Maradona played u20
Messi played u20
Raul played u20
Mbappe played u20
why not Samu?
Even Rodriguez of Columbia played u20...

Good one bro.

That list is endless, Pogba, Ronaldinho, Lacazzette, Kaka, Saviola, Kun Aguero, Fabregas, Iniesta, Xavi etc.

This is where Stars are made and not even the U17.
In as much as I would wish us to win the U20 but what I count as more important is the addition to the pool of players we can promote to the U23 and Super Eagles.

U17 is for wide chase of talents but for U20 u need to be specific with those that are already performing at club level.

To those that are preaching Aigbogun should go and discover his own new talents. So what do we do with the already discovered talents from the previous U17s? Discard them and be chasing nonentities who are already 20years olds?

And who says Aigbogun has not unearthed some new players? Who knew Oremade and Ozornwafor before the AYC?

There is a very good synergy between our national team coaches which has never happened before. And this should be commended.

The problem with you is that your mindset and reasoning when it comes to football is so parochial and limited
so sorry i said that... i mean no insults, you have said it severally that you watch mainly only the english football because you live in england then instead of you learn and be humble enough to let others who are more broad and holistic in the matters of football teach you with their vatse football knowledege you begin to act as if the little knowledge you have defines all....

how well do yo know of the spanish and other european countires leagues and football? obviously Andrew and many here know better than you but probably you know english football than them. Football is beyond the few english leagues you know, learn bro

Talking about individual players is one thing from a perspective of first hand knowledge, understanding and experience is one thing.

Talking about the collective quality and attributes of a league is completely another. You have got the two mixed up and as a consequence your befuddled with confusion. You need to separate the two contexts not converge them.

I will say therefore, on the contrary that you are extremely parochial because you appraise matters that are collective from a very limited personal perspective.

The issue is collective aggregate a comparison of the unique attributes of each individual league, not taken in lsolation.

With regards to European football l never claimed ignorance. I have spent time with Sporting Lisbon, Braga, and few others in Portugal knew the coaches there, albeit a few years ago. Infact I met a Nigerian players if l am right called Chidi there. And the last few months l have been to Holland and Germany on account of football. I have been to Spain as well.

Probably going to France later this month, all things being equal.

So l know the club staff, coaches and players who give me thier view and experiences. so l have fairly decent understanding maybe not in- depth.

Not just what l watch on TV.

Great submission you have there Sir...So many big names today played u20 as YOUNG PROFESSIONALS...Not as academy players. On Aigbogun,we are stuck with him...he cannot be sacked now..he needs help...Which is coming through this synergy that is existing between our coaches...we see that in u23....Ozorwnafor of u20 even played for u23....thats the help i mean...Hopefully.Osimhen,Orji,Samu,et al will join them...later join up u23...there is nothing wrong in shifting them...Nigeria is reaping from her pool of players...Manu has kept the production line working...right now Manu Garba has sixty players in his pool...

Aigbogun's problem is Aigbogun and not lack of support. He choose his U-20 by himself filled with age cheats. I'm sure he knew what he was doing then. I wonder why he hasn't been relieved of his job since.

there's a small window of him joining the U-20s the la liga season will finish days before the commencement of the world cup but i think he will be more useful with the U-23 dream team.

as for AFCON i will just trust rohr's judgment on if chukwueze should go. let's however take it easy with putting to much expectations on the lad remember this is his first full season of top flight league football

You are missing the point. Was the Argetinian senior team having a tournament that summer when Messi played for the under 20s?

If there was no AFCON, fine, playing with the under 20s is no big deal but at AFCON, you need the best Nigerian players. No other player in the Nigerian set up offers what Samu offers.

Spanish La Liga side Villarreal has told rave of the moment Samuel Chukwueze to pick between representing Nigeria at the U20 World Youth Championship or the Africa Cup of Nations ‎as they will only allow him play in one of the two tournaments, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

Chukwueze has played for the Nigeria senior national team and also the U23s but also submitted his credentials to be registered by Nigeria U20 ahead of their campaign at the World Youth Championship.

As expected Villarreal have categorically communicated to the representatives of the 19 year old that he can only play in one of the tournaments because of the closeness of the dates between both tournaments.

This same year he will likely be pushing to represent the Nigeria U23 team in November if they are able to scale through Sudan in the final round of qualifiers for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations.

The likelihood of all of this happening plus the fact that he is expected to resume early for pre season training has made Villarreal to stand their ground leaving the decision in the hands of the Nigerian coaches to determine the team that need him most.

He is needed in AFCON. We need to use the U20 as platform to launch and discover unknown, hidden talents. Samuels success at Villarreal is enough to propel him to greater heights. Playing in U20 would be redundant.

well i don't think going to the U20 world cup is redundant. personally i would want him at the AFCON but playing at the world cup would afford him less pressurized surroundings to probably flourish. realistically how many games would he get at AFCON at best bench role coming on as an impact sub. like i said before let's see what rohr decides

Well, not surprised cos such is the sensitivity of that MRI. When u see obvious kids failing this test and someone will say men in their 20s can scale through it.

The bone structure of those boys have obviously developed more from then to now. Some of them will still fail again after the CAF U17, before the FIFA U17 WC. That is why Manu has a large pool of players to chose from.

I really feel for those boys that failed the test. Anyways, they will have another opportunity of teaming up with the other players at the U20 level.

When France took a teenager to the world cup ahead of already established players who raised brows? Because they have seen the potential of Mbappe and guess what the teenagers contribution helped France become world champions.
We should be playing players based on current form not based on what they have done. Rsshford today starts ahead of Callum Wilson.
To me oo Chukwueze will be our joker going to the AFCON any player who isn't in form should be dropped. Dude play both as RWB and a RW with a left foot. Very scarce entity with Messi and Robben with a better left foot.

Villarreal on Europa has defeated Zenith St Petersburg, Sporting Lisbon, topped their table with teams like Rangers, Spartak Moscow and Rapid Vienna and you tell me they won't beat Everton. Baba no make me vex

My humble opinion: He should be taken to the AFCON
