Good evening everyone and thanks for keeping it real. Its so encouraging to read through genuine Nigerians' willingness to assistance.

This is my case.. I'm an Msc graduate from a Russian University. I reside presently in Russia.

I'll like to know my chances for student visa approval as I finished my Msc in 2017, but I'll like to go study Msc also in Canada (I got my Bsc in 2015 same from Russia),my wife finished her Bsc in Nigeria (2009).

My issue now is that, what are my chances of visa approval based on my study gap and that of my wife's.

Are my ties to Nigeria sufficient enough as I'm gonna be the major sponsor, I've got a registered business since 2017, I've got sufficient fund for living expenses. Statement of account is good for my wife and myself.

I understand my statement of purpose has to be on point. But I'll really appreciate from the experts what my chances are and what loop holes need to be tied.

Thanks in anticipation of your responses.

Sorry but I think you’re overthinking the application process
You said your parents have filled all the necessary checklist forms, so they’ve saved themselves considerable time and money they would otherwise have spent printing forms or getting assistance at the VAC.
The essential thing to know is to get to the VAC early, last time I went last year I think you needed an appointment but they can bypass that if they get there early.
They also need to have the money in cash for submission, biometrics and other miscellaneous things (photocopy, taking passport picture etc). Someone might be able to assist with the current rate but I would advise they take 5-10k extra for any additional cost.
I think that should be all.
They don’t need to worry about arranging the forms, the officers at the VAC would help you arrange and cross check the documents.

Good luck to your parents tomorrow.

Thank u for ur advice and he should pray a lot the application doesn't take a year for process. My visiting application via online route clock 9months on 22nd of this month. Each time I sent mail to them they replied me my application is on process that I wil be notify of additional document is require. Don't know how long I will continue this though, so pray very well..best of luck to ur parent

I’m so sorry for my late response, I’m only just seeing this.

To answer your question, yes I got a one way ticket and I got my ticket for 300k from Lagos to Toronto.

umulobi:

Did you buy a return ticket or one way ticket? And estimated airfare on ET from Lagos to Ontario?

Hello everyone,

I have applied since first week in January 2019(biometric done) but no response since then. Do I need to write and request for the status of my application? School is in September though.

Retirement savings Like his life savings to sponsor you in a money hugry country like Canada. The living expense yearly is almost 3mill/yearly. My advice get a co-sponsor. If you have an Impressive cgpa seek funding from a university.

It’s a 1 and half year course I’ll be going for, and school fees is 9100 can dollars, about 2.5m with the 10000 living expenses that’s like 2.7m... about 10m is in the RSA account, and he is still currently working, with salary of like 500k..if I wanna get a co-sponsor how much should he have in his account....
Thank you..
