elyte89: That picture is too blurry to make a conclusion either way. And if we assume you are right that it was his account, it still does not show that he is older than 17 and there is no way to show that the information is accurate. At 15/16, many people enter the university these days. By 18/19, many are midway through university. My younger sister was finished by 19 and she studied a 5 year course. What i know is this, the boy has grown bigger and taller than he was 2 years ago, suggesting that he is still growing. And he passed MRI which means he is under or close to the age range. At this point, that is the best we can hope for. 2 Likes |

jihday: VAR WAS WRONG Manchester City vs Tottenham: Fernando Llorente goal was HANDBALL and should have been disallowed, says former referee Mark Halsey Ex-Premier League ref says the VAR official wasn't given all the camera angles to make the decision properly While the Tottenham team celebrated with their fans in their small corner of the ground – progressing to the last four of the European Cup for the first time since 1962 – the rest in the Etihad sat in stunned silence. And Halsey says Pep Guardiola’s side were hard done. “We all saw the angles the officials saw last night, but apparently, I’ve been informed there are TV angles that were never afforded to the officials last night,” the ex-referee told Thursday’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “I’ve seen an angle where, had the referee seen that angle, I’m almost certain he would have disallowed that goal last night. “If we’ve got VAR, we’ve got to give them all the afforded angles to look at that decision. “It’s such a massive call, but the consequence of what happened next – the ball ending up in the net – it had to be disallowed. “If the ball doesn’t hit his arm and it just goes into his body, it just goes back straight [away from goal]. But because it’s deflected by the forearm, it’s brushed his side and gone in. “It had to be disallowed. “We’ve seen some handballs given this season against defenders in the Champions League that were not deliberate, but we can’t have it both ways. “It’s not fair for defenders being penalised when attackers are getting away with it. You’ve got to have consistency. “Of course, next season they’ve changed the interpretation of handball, so that will automatically be ruled out.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/talksport.com/football/529579/manchester-city-tottenham-llorente-handball-var-mark-halsey/amp/ |

The fact is that the angles were hidden for a simple reason. The people in the VAR room did not want the referee to see the handball clearly to chalk off the goal. |

Those trying to defend this wrong is a reflection of who they really are. Never will stand with the truth when it does not support their bias agenda. As I said, it is your life and you are free to support the wrong. Finito. |

Even in the first leg, Son was offside before his goal and Vertoghen was in the box when Aguero missed his penalty which gave Vertoghen advantage to clear the ball. All these and VAR was blind. When it came for VAR to rule on Aguero, all of a sudden the VAR guys woke up and were so accurate. Please.

The slowed down footage clearly shows the ball deflected off Llorente’s arm before hitting his thigh and ended up in the net. AS’s resident referee Iturralde González commented: ”It hits his hand first then his hip and the UEFA instructions are clear: you can't score if it hits your hand, even if it’s involuntary. It doesn't matter if the elbow is tight to the body. If it happens to a defender it's not a penalty, but if it's an attacker it has to be disallowed. Rossetti has told the UEFA referees.” He added: "Irrati (the VAR) - the number one VAR official - advises Çakir because he's seen a hand. When Çakir comes back from seeing the images he tells the players 'I didn't see anything. It hit his thigh.' They didn't play him the view from behind where you can see it hits the elbow. The error from the VAR is not showing the two key images. Why? The question is getting it right, not how long it takes." AS’s resident ref's conclusion: "Manchester City are out because the VAR wasn't used properly". https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.givemesport.com/1469129-fernando-llorentes-handball-v-man-city-slowed-down-footage-emerges%3famp TheGoodJoe's conclusion: People in the VAR room had the luxury of having multiple angles and clearly saw that the ball hit the arm of Llorente but refused to show that screen because there was an agenda already. Finito. cc: forgiveness, jihday |

TheGoodJoe: The same reason why Nigeria didn't get a penalty (and rightly so) in the world cup against Argentina, just before Ighalo missed that chance. Llorente didn't commit a foul and hence his goal stood. |

andrew444: Onyekuru has played in Belguim and Turkey and has done EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. However, can he transfer that ability and dominance to the EPL, is open to question. He is very lightweight in my opinion. He reminds me of Nani excellent player but when he came to United was a bit lightweight too . In the end he was sent to the gym to beef up. His career was OK at United but for a player tipped to replace Ronaldo, he didn't live up to expectation. However, Onyekuru has a very big advantage there is no expectation on him. So he will not be under great pressure to perform. But the question can he perform. In all these clubs he has a chance, however, it's one thing to get in its another to perform and claim first choice position. However, I don't think he will fit into Newcastle, Cardiff, Burnley and Bournemouth. The other teams he may have an opportunity. But him being clearly better than the existing players is open to never ending debate IMO. I remember Atsu had a wonderful world cup for Ghana but couldn't do anything at Everton and has just been OK if l am to be generous at Newcastle. In conclusion it's not as simplistic as you make it, the EPL is a different type of intense physical football and some teams have a different ethos that may not fit his particular attributes. My advice to him is he should go to the Bundesliga and progress from there. 1 Like |

Earthquake3: I would DISAGREE with you. He Onyekuru has played in the lower level leagues of Europe and against faster, stronger and more technically astute defenders week in week out will not find it so easy. So he is not tested at a higher level to make such a conclusion. Better than Pedro certainly not IMO. 1 Like |

godspeed: I've been to Cairo and it was a nice experience...seeing the Nile at Night, the Pyramids etc I stayed in a 4 star hotel in the zamalek area which is expensive but I had the budget to deal with that. Hotels in Cairo I reckon are cheaper than their equivalents in Lagos. I never felt insecure or discriminated against at anytime. Of course you need to have your eyes open and let common sense lead you like you would anywhere else. I have never been pickpocketed or duped by locals in any Nigerian town but I have in London and Florence! The only negative I can say I experienced in Egypt is the local driving culture, but then if you live in Lagos you will be well versed in a similar culture. Having said all this your experience could be different in the chaos that a major sporting event will undoubtedly bring to the city. 1 Like |

wayodude: I haven't been to Egypt for a long time, my Father took me there as a child. However, I am prejudiced. I see and read about thier political system where the rule of law is taking a battering. The creating of a DICTATORSHIP and president for Life. The coptic Christians and the continous discrimination that face as well as blatant attacks by various groups. When you go to Egypt and you stay in a 4/5 star hotel. Not all of us can always afford that me included. You get a completely false view of Egypt, you are on the well insulated and protected tourist route. Where you are shown a very serene and compliant Egypt. That is the Egypt my Caucasian work colleagues and associates love to visit. Coming back with all kinds of wonderful stories. It's not for me. And l know l will not have the same welcome. My hope was for a Moroccan AFCON that didn't happen so l will not be going. 1 Like |
