Muhammed Ali should be on this list

obentenyson:
it's one thing to be popular, it's another to be influencial.. Ali is influencial but not as most thinks.. He is the most influential person in the world of boxing. ..

I agree. Ali is a colossus in human rights movements worldwide.

He was a professional boxer and made just as much, if not more, success as a political activist.

You mean your forefathers were busy selling themselves into slavery? Because the biggest traders of slaves were black people who were selling their fellow black people as slaves to the Europeans.

It doesn't change the fact that there was a buyer. The whites you so much want to please, planted the idea of slavery into people's minds, when they began their colonization agenda. Even if my grandpa sold me, someone was eagerly willing to buy.

Just like selling & buying of coke, you both will be held liable.

Had they been a plain level ground, blacks would have wrought wonders in the world too.

Well, the struggles of the black man is different from that of the white man. White privilege is a reality

Leave "other people" out of it. The problem of a black man is the black man himself. Too much greed, selfishness & a whole lot of dumbassery.. Every other race help each other out & excel, except our own. Plus, most of us lack insight & rarely self-introspect. We don't take responsibility for anything. We'd rather blame everything else but ourselves for our own failures. Rather than admit to mistakes & wrongdoing, a "black man" will blame something else for "his" own shortcomings . The culprit is usually an unseen force, ranging from "white privilege", the devil, witches, the past (even though they've never experienced the brunt of it all) & so on.
Sometimes black people make me sick with their eternal victim mentality. Try to make the right choices & "the struggles" will miraculously lessen. It's not rocket science, really.
It's amazing to see people who do absolutely nothing to lessen the burden on themselves, try to shift the blame on people who had nothing to do with the bad choices each individual has made in the course of a lifetime. Own ya crap!

[s]Just the composition of this list alone shows what low achievers black people are.

If an ALL TIME list includes the likes of Tupac in it then one can only surmise that black people are desperately short of real role models.

Where are the black Einsteins? Where are the black Isaac Newtons, Shakespeares, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerbergs, Steve Jobs, Alan Turings, Carl Sagans,Louis Pasteurs, Wright Brothers, Thomas Edison, Tessla, Elon Musk, etc etc?

If a list of most influential White men were to be compiled or influential Asians, it would be far more impressive and make a lot more sense than this joke of a list[/s].

And who ended slavery?

Samuel Ajayi Crowther was sold by Fulani Slave traders and rescued by the British.

Go and read some history books and stop making excuses for black complicity in the Slave Trade.

Even to this day, who is selling black women into sexual slavery on the streets of Europe?

I should add living in denial to the black man's list of negative attributes.

I wouldnt want the thread to be turned into a history lesson, however, your ignorance cannot go unchallenged.

Go and research and get back to us with your findings and we can continue discussion on a brand new thread.

If falsly claim the incorrect notion of who actually own the "abolition" process then you need to realise your compounding ignorance.

Stop and Think!

All the information is available in the public domain. And cease these nonsensical claims on history.

And i am not refereing to the fabricated history that supports false claims that Britain abolished slavery.

That is a false claim.

Blacks and their well connected friends fought to abolish slavery in their given regions.

Ultimately, Britain abolished slavery only in its jurisdiction by making use of the Slavery Abolition Act 1833, other nation that took part in the evil of those days followed suit in the later years. i.e France abolished slavery in 1848 and the U.S.A in 1865, all have in common a hard fought campaign by African individuals and groups with the well appreciated help from friendly white folks.

Furthermore, to support the above, African academics have found enough evidence to suggest that black communities exist in Britain and other parts of Europe prior to 1400 B.C.E. These communities are said to have been part of the pioneering force behind the "Abolition" process. Yet the discourse is later high-jacked by much of Europe's "political class"

That is the truth. All the falsity you peddle you need to drop and consider these truths

Question: Who are the Abolitionist?

Question: Who are "Black Lives Matter" ?

If you cannot answer correctly to either of these then you are devoid of the truth surrounding these matters.

According to African studies, the overwheming force behind either of these related campaignes are Africans. Any other effort can really only be seen as part of what professional athletes would call "supporters club".

But due to the fact that the post- modern world of today is currently dominated by the so called "Western World", its easy for them to sell to you those LIES.

Latimer's achievements while impressive for the time, were not unique. Other inventors were doing similar or better things in the 19th century.

There are many black inventors from the likes of Philip Emeagwali who invented the fastest computer to Lewis Latimer who invented the filament of the light bulb. It is sad you don't get to hear about these people because the truth has been denied from you, schools won't teach you about these people rather they will teach you of non-black inventors, making them look like your lord and saviours.

all these white meh you listed are inventors they’re not necessarily influential... let’s be properly guided
Inventors are amongst the most influential besides religious founders(Jesus, Muhammed,Buddha)and Philosophers(Socrates, Confucius).
l would even argue that inventors are the most influential, and their inventions primarily demarcate the modern world from the stone age.

'Influential': influence on people (not necessarily in a pious way), going by the definition, it's between Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela, with Obama coming in at a close third.

The trio's influence goes beyond race, culture, nationality, age, sex, religion, political affiliation, genre, etc.

BTW, Michael Jackson is arguably the most famous man who ever lived, bar Adam, Jesus, and Mohammed.

I'm honestly at a loss as to what you need more, a history lesson or a reality check.

Thank goodness you admitted that it was a joint effort between blacks in the New World (The Americas and the Carribean) and whites that ended slavery.

But kindly tell me, out of the depth of your wisdom, who the indigenous African abolitionists were.

Your African forefathers sold their fellow Africans into slavery in exchange for whiskey and gin. It NEVER occurred to them that what they were doing was wrong because slavery is part and parcel of African culture and traditions.

Unlike you, I've visited a few palaces of traditional rulers and seen descendants of palace slaves.

The British actually had to fight a war to stop African Kings like Kosoko from continuing with the Slave Trade after the British had made it illegal.

Really, we have a problem with self imposed ignorance on this continent.

I understand quite well where you are coming from, yet your argument is still incorrect.

I am not here to defend the traitors and defectors of those days, however, the majority of the blame of the trans Atlantic horrors lay squarely at the feet of the Arabs, Europeans and the Jews of those days.

The three of these business partners, combined with traitors and defectors all combined to cause a distruption in the African story.

But be in NO doubt the blame lies squarely at the feet of the Arabs, Europeans and Jews.

They are the reason that most of us present day Africans do not know the history of our own continent, instead they teach us LIES.

Even to this day the majority of trafficked human beings in the world are Blacks and the traffickers who are their fellow blacks use African voodoo to keep their victims under control and stop them from escaping.
