I posted something about a particular scene in the episode in which you failed to explain but instead you are discussing about the length of the episode and praising the producers for interpreting a book well. ....The NK is strong, for him to have the strength equivalent to those huge cross bows used to pierce dragons shows he is quite strong. No human will throw a spear at a dragon with such velocity and strength to hurt it hence the use of such huge cross bows. So he didn't need to hold her off with two hands, one was enough and with two he should have crushed her windpipe easily and gone back to his business of killing Bran. He had avoided so many distractions to get to Bran including a one on one with Aegon. So quickly getting rid of Arya or tossing her to other walkers to finish her as he had an objective would have been the sensible thing. The NK had no reason to delay the manner he did, holding and staring at Arya doing nothing.

...That screaming was deliberate. Let the night king notice you, he holds your neck then do that trick of yours again. It's simple and effective, at least that's what the writers thought. But this isn't Brienne who God knows how she manage to survive, another discussion for another day but the Night king who is hundreds of years old. Surely, he could have gone out with something better than that after the hype, nothing extravagant perhaps but at least not that simple. Bro, from how she got into their midst without the walkers and his generals knowing of her to the scene she killed the NK has no rational explaination. So, the natural thing to say is enjoy the movie.

NK definitely is not super strong ... definitely not in the front of a Valerian steel.....

Watch the fight between Lady Mormont and the Giant ... The Giant first carried her up.... look at her very well.... before killing her.....

NK waited for a long time for Theon to finish all his paparazzi before Theon charged.....

NK killed Theon gently.... even had time to look at him face to face... knelt down before him and slump on the ground....

B/4 he went to Bran.....

Did you see how he waited gently and looked at Bran for a long time......

Same thing goes for Arya case....

This is the way you kill your enemies..... when you know your opponent cant defeat you... U enjoy the moments of killin and let them know there is nothing they can do .....

U dont expect them to show you every scene in a movie .....Haba

When he pulled the rope for that trench gate/trap, his men were still outside. That's why he came in distraught, removed his helmet and sighted Melisandre. And yes some of his men were already in so a few escorted Melisandre.
Anyways I'll go see it again just to confirm I'm not spreading virus.

.... Alright bro, I get you now. Personally, I don't have time for theories as most devoted fans do because I know that no one can tell what a producer can and can not do especially in shows. I know what to expect from shows like flash and all that but a show with complex speeches and beautiful writings like GOT from the very beginning, it's hard not to fell a bit distraught. It was disappointing to see such that's why I tagged it lazy writing and explained that both writers cannot and will never be quarter of GRRM. That's the best of their abilities. No one here will tell me with straight face than the writings in the show hasn't gone downhill since season 4. Arya'a scene was just the epitome to me. It's why I am sad.

It is simple, neither was Dany nor Jon were the Prince.
They both have roles to play in bringing the dawn.

Arya, killing the NK was expected. she was there in the war chamber planning when Bran said he will be at the Godswood waiting for him. don't forget the NK needed to lure to the open. at that meeting non of them talked about who will get close and do us the honours.
Arya left after the Redwoman said asked what do we say to the God of death.......not today. from that time, we didn't see Arya again till she did what she did.......

So I believed like someone said earlier, that she must have hid somewhere near Bran waiting for the moment to attack.

Next stop, Kings landing....
Can't wait for Monday morning to download.......

How did Arya know that the Night king would die from being stabbed right there? If she had stabbed him from the back, it would have at least be believable but honestly, that scene showed nothing but lazy writing that people have already posted on here. Just shows what some of us have known for a while that the standard of the show has fallen since season 4, season 7 being the worst of the lot and this season is closely following.

.... I don't blame the writers though, they can't tie the laces of GRRM, who has been unable to finish the book. Since it became those two, the writings has been sub standard but that's not what makes me mad, it's rather the people who defend such terrible writing even with insults. Completely ridiculous.

Solo, it's a movie o so nothing ridiculous about NK holding Arya with both hands. He caught her neck and the weapon-wielding hand(which is the natural thing to do). As he was still wondering,'Nne who you be na'?....assasin Arya pulled her trademark move..the switch and engage.

NOTE: Game of thrones has been one of the few series to be near perfection even for this long and that has spoilt us..so any little thing we find faults.

Arya moved swiftly like a thief in the night and Fiaamm!..everything happened. Finito.

Something tells me though, that this NK story is not FULLY over. There's still one more brief but big reveal coming. A shocking-interesting one, hopefully. Except I'm just being mad!!

Also, I think the NK is of Targaryen descent.

I also found it interesting that the blue-flame spitting viseron looked mellow all of a sudden & delayed his wrath when Johnny boy squared up to him face-face. Hmmn!!

Best scenes:

How Mellisandre illuminated the Dothraki's confidence with fire and they charged towards the NK, but his wights quenched both the dothrakis & Lord of light in an instant like " <<pufff... pufff... abeg our oga no dey like smoke".

Ser Jorah defending his Khalessi to the very last. Maybe Love is all about what you can give, not what you can receive. I was expecting a touching dialogue here or something. Even in his death, Khalessi couldn't give that man even if na small kiss or peck, haba!!! For this, you'll never sit on that Iron throne!!

Lady Mormont levelling that giant to the ground. My second best scene hands down. Brave little thing.

Theon!! Theon!! Theon!! My best scene hands down. The moddafuckin bravest. In an episode where even men who had balls shrunk, a man with no balls had the balls. *Continues clapping*

Worst scenes:
The uselessness of Tyrion throughout. Not even one single contribution. So the discussion he had with Bran was entirely useless? Kept saying maybe if he goes out he'll see what everyone is missing but never did. For a short man, Tyrion is beginning to look like the height of deceit. Thank you producers & writers.

The uselessness of Bran. He contributed nothing for someone we all thought had a big role to play. He warged into those birds to do what exactly? In search of food? He warged into three black Ravens -- confirming he's the three eyed raven.... Ok... Ehen.. ehen?

The uselessness of Jon. It's shocking that Jon, who at a time was the pivotal aspect of this show, has become this.. thissssssss *spits** . This was the greatest Battle of humanity, bigger than whatever foolish battle they have with Cersei, yet Jon had no part to play in it. He was just all over the place. When he quipped during the season premiere that riding a dragon has spoilt horses for him, I didn't know he was referring part of his sense that will spoil eventually. Thank you producers & writers.

The uselessness of the Night King. This one is the most useless of them all. This horn-headed, blue-eyed, dustin- powder rubbing ojuju calaba ended up so useless that his uselessness fried something in my brain, because for the first time in my life, I wished for the ressurection of an evil villian just so he could wake up and die again BUT with sense.

For seven seasons, 7 freaking seasons, this ojuju calaba made me believe he was the ish!! So much so that Johnny Walker had to create a special brand of alcohol called "Johnny Walker the white Walker" only for him to die like a native fowl...

I might be prosecuted for this.... BUT the Night King should have killed Arya in the process too. It would have reduced this anti-climax feel & given his useless war a meaning.

Except of course, like the little suspicion I habor, this Night king story isn't over yet.

Is it just me or there's someone else here that thinks the Night King was killed by Arya alone, I mean the Arya we know... Not as a many faced god but just Arya Stark killing the Night King. Is it much more impossible of a task? Considering what she has been through ever since watching her father beheaded.. If truly she had switched face, someone here mentioned that the WW that turned after Therion was killed is Arya, but in the follow up scenes where the night king was killed, the same WW that turned was showned to have exploded along with others.

Lets say that was a hint for us to know something is coming, the same way the NK turned when Jon was trailing him, that's exactly the same way the WW turned, only for us to see Arya mid air towards the NK.

It's also worthy to note that there's no tree or other elevated height close to where Bran sat except the tree, and from camera view. It's very obvious that Arya didn't jump down from d tree(so that's a twist we have got to battle on)

If truly Arya "turned" to be able to kill the Night King, then the producers would have at least pictured her having a blue eyes before driving the dagger thro' NK..

If you're a lover of good TVseries, you would understand how the suspense works, funny enough GOT won't do a back scene for us to know how it really happened(unlike other series). But with all these prophecies gradually comin' to past, One can only imagine how the end of this series will be.

But make i find trouble small...i love Arya o right from time and forever...happy she killed the NK. My issue is, so the NK can just die like that via Valyrian steel only no alloys (mixture) of Valyrian steel, Dragonglass and other charms. Afterall the Children of the Forest made him with Dragon glass not Valyrian steel.

So Jon could of killed him that time he was chasing him by throwing/aiming his Long Claw at him and he would have died juslaidat?

Moving forward, i swear i thought i'll trumpet of Cersei's army attacking Winterfell immediately the NK died.

I think with the blue eyes the redwitch was referring to the wights.

I guess She transform to a Wight which grant her the access to the garden and take out the nk, when other are busy fighting for their life.

But if truly she transform into a Wight, the best scene would've been her using the Wight face to carry out the killing before taking off the mask (wight face.) I guess episode 4 or 5 will share more light on that or before the end of this season.

I believe the writers want us the viewers to contemplate on how it all went down before giving us the answer.

None of them thought about that. If you noticed, they told everyone to hide there as that is the best and safest place to be. Furthermore there is this belief that the crypt has some magic and maybe the dead may not be able to enter.
Most of the viewers expected the dead to rise up in the crypt.
