Silent follower here. Visa approved this morning.
Transcript of visa interview below:
VO: Good morning. Please pass your passport and i-20
ME: Good morning. Hands over passport and i-20
VO: What will you be doing in the US.
Me: I’ll be pursuing an MBA from Penn State University.
VO: How did you hear about the school?
Me: Research. It’s no. 1 in supply chain management, which is what I would like to transition to from assurance. I also got feedback about the program from a former colleague who’s there now.
VO: What will the MBA do for you?
Me: It will enable me transition from easily from being an auditor to a supply chain management professional.
VO: What’s the duration of your MBA?
Me: Two years
VO: How do you intend to fund your MBA?
Me: I have a fellowship that waives tuition for the two years of the program and provides a monthly stipend for living expenses. The little balance will be covered from personal savings.
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: Four.
VO: Name them
Me: University of Maryland, Notredame, Rochester
VO: How many did you get accepted into?
Me: All but Notredame. I got waitlisted by Notredame
VO: Did you write any standardized tests?
Me: Yes
VO: Which?
Me: GRE and TOEFL
VO: You had applied last year to a different school. What school was that?
Me: Arizona State – WP Carey
VO: You were denied a visa, know why?
Me: Not given a reason. I suspect the VO had issues with the loan letter from MPower. She said there was meant to be an address on the loan letter, which I escalated to MPower, but was informed that the letter was a standard letter issued to all applicants.
VO: Hands over white paper and explains that it will take some time to process the visa.

I only share this dream with a few students who are close to me. But let me tell those of you going for your interview soon. I dreamt 9 days ago that the US embassy issued a lot of student visa this year, and in the dream, I was very happy. This should relieve tension and boost your confidence as you prepare for this crucial moment. Congrats to all of you in advance.

The transcript and approvals we are seeing yet are those with one form of funding from the school or some good scholarship grin grin grin let's see if they are now lenient for those without any scholarship. Until then, I am still peeping from the window cheesy cheesy

Milkshakes01:
Negotiation and Columbia Resolution

Okay

To be completely honest, that degree is not very lucrative in the job market. I mostly advise people who go for such degrees to do a Ph.D. where you won't have to pay lots of money for tuition. If you can get into Columbia for a master's, you can as well get into their Ph.D. program. All you have to do is to network more with current and ex-Ph.Ds students to introduce you to some professors that will take you. Once they make that introduction, your test scores and your GPA won't matter. What will matter is whether the professor likes you or not.

Except you are financially capable of handling the bills, I won't advice you spend that much on the degree. You can relax and network for a PhD next year. Check other strong brands like Yale, UChicago, Berkeley and UCLA. Network your ass out and I'm sure you will get a solid PhD offer by this time next year.

Don't be in a hurry. No be by how fast. Yankee no dey run.

Any of those aforementioned schools (or one of the DC powerhouses - Georgetown and George Washington University) will place you in an international organization (UNICEF, UN) after PhD graduation.

Always check the official website for guidance

Source: https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/students-and-the-form-i-20
Before you pay the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee, you must receive the Form I-20 from a DSO at the school you plan to attend. You will need information from the Form I-20 to pay the fee.
