Your strategy needs to really change if truly you are what you are o(you know what I'm referring to).

Do value investing. Target good stocks that pay good dividends that has high beta (preferably banks). Buy when people are selling(when Market I depressed). Then sell when there is a bullish market.

You are thinking of loss because you carry your big load dey jump with people with small load. You are like a fat man wanting to do what a thin man does. grin You can't scale a fence when gbege starts na.

So restrategize and keep your load where the size go fit enter. Stop listening to noise of gains from small firms with low beta.

Anyway many people dey on gain in case you didn't know.

WORDS ON MARBLE

Dat strategy i did last 2yrs barely return enuf profit compare to other strategies.. Half of my portfolio is value stock. while half is penny. the lost in value stock is worst dan d penny......I doubt many dey on gain dis year.. starting from JAN 2019.
Its not ideal to put huge fund in penny stocks. Its hard to take profit cos you might not find enough buyers to take all your holdings at once. See how that guy with 80million units of transcorp on offer totally killed our full bid of over 72million bids/0 offer. Full bid that was supposed to last for two weeks. Just because he wanted to bail out. I am not even sure he succeeded in bailing at his desired junction.

Sir probably you picked these stocks when they were not really depressed (at or very close to their 52 wk low), at this point the vulnerability of these stocks are very low.. That would have given you a very good margin of safety. Creating a scenario, For instance picking a stock like zenithbank at 19-20,would hardly bring in a loss by its year end, even if it goes lower to 15. and zenithbank eventually pays #2.00(very unlikely going by the dividend history), the stock will still climb up to a safe level. Same goes for other good dividend paying stocks. Nevertheless a trader's instinct while investing on a long term wouldn't be a bad idea (considering the kind of clime we find ourselves - Any stock misbehaving, should be shown the way out of your portfolio irrespective of the initial plan/purpose.

Am not too sure if there are any for now. But for now honestly this is the place to be (A lot of rich minds here). It used to be fun/enlightening those days comparing post from SMN and NSEMPA. However there are also good/very educative websites like easykobo, proshare, nairametrics, business post. Which may be of help

I would have done the same sha... the good thing here is those units were bought by different people with different levels of patience and different level of greed.. if only these people fit hold on and not let that oga/madam chop twice on their head by not making his/her kind of units available..

Good day house.

Please can I get introduced to a stockbroker? The last one I worked with was in Ibadan 12 - 13 years ago as a student investor. I don't have his contact number again.

Thank you.

There are several stockbrokers now offering online platforms to trade. Some are:

Morgan Capital
Meristem
Lead Capital
ARM Securities
Investment One

Just visit their websites and look through their services and choose. Morgan Capital has the lowest brokerage commission though.

I don't need analyst to know Jumia and Konga are not doing well, as much as I do so much online business I have never bought from them, the infrastructural situation in Nigeria has tied their hands down and they are forced to majorly focus on lagosians, but lagosians know are closer to where you can buy things cheapest...........

Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state, has appointed four new emirs in the state.

The appointment comes 48 hours after he assented to a bill to split Kano emirate into five.

The new emirs are Aminu Ado Bayero (Bichi), Ibrahim Abdulkadir (Gaya), Tafida Abubakar (Rano), and Ibrahim Abubakar (Karaye).
