Oh Baba Owen
The surviving resistance or whatever is left of the Nigerian Army won't ask for your opinion as to whether you don't want to fight for Nigeria
They will simply conscript/ draft your ass.
The Democratic ideas you have now to express yourself will be gone.
Pray Nigeria is never invaded because the aftermath will be extremely bloody for the Countries who allowed themselves to be used as staging grounds for invasion into Nigeria.
And you are blissfully ignorant of the harsh realities.

Mmm is nationalism in nigeria that low ? Maybe you need conscription, military service ?

its a really power added to a country that will be taken into count by any invader . specially for a country with large population like nigeria . after the military service, you remain mobilizable 3 to 6 years. ( a reserve army)

For an invader he will take into his strategy , in case i attack this country , that's millions of reserve soldiers that will join quickely there posts in nigerian army and many others with basic military training that could join guerilla even if i succed to invade them .

Of course you will lose one year or more of your life for the country .

Nationalism indeed. Before any citizen can think of wielding arms for his country and proudly fight for her, the country must give him/her something to believe in. Don't also forget that joining the military in Nigeria, entails having political or top military connections. When you take a lot of things into consideration, you'll agree that Nigeria isn't an entity worth fighting or dying for. Many military personnel today, are in the military because they don't have other options. The situation is pathetic.

Exactly what I've been trying to make people understand. Even the US with their standards messed up big time. Assuming a third world country like "ALMIGHTY ALGERIA" invades and occupies you think you will be safe even If you don't raise a finger?
LTGEN:

If a Country invades you.
You won't be safe..
Your family won't be safe.
This is the likely scenario:
They will take liberties with your Mother.
Your Sister your Aunties.
They will then throw you , your dad and your brothers in Prisons like Abu Ghraib
And young little girls like the American Corporal will pose while you are naked and being tortured..Before you go on your usual anti Nigeria rant think very careful about the Horrors of War.
You haven't survived an occupation, nor have you been in one .
Iraq is a mess because of the US.
Same with Ukraine..
Yemen has gone back to the Stone Ages.
The South Sudan is a careful analysis of everything that could go wrong.
Now you can continue your rant.
Mind you We know who would be the first to run to the other side once the real shooting starts.

BabaOwen:
no west/central African country can invade Nigeria. If any part of Nigeria decide to secede and there is a civil war in Nigeria like it happened during the uncivil war during Gowon regime, I will never fight for Nigeria.

I think I might be in the same boat with you,as there are a thousand and one people like you likewise there a thousand and one people that will pick up arms.

To those talking about picking up arms, you need an inspirational leadership for this, this is sorely lacking in Nigeria, who's gonna rally the people to fight for Nigeria? Those thieves with mansions overseas? Because i can assure you that most of them will be out of the country before the first bomb drops.
A neglected population have no incentive to fight for a country with a broken system and Government, won't happen. That's not to same some won't, but most will not.
Nigeria is a fractured country, we aren't Japan, ours is a country full of different ethnic groups, different languages.
And when we talk about wars, someone is talking about someone's mother being raped etc, with what manpower is the invading force gonna do that? They do not have the manpower to takeover all of Nigeria, In fact the rapes and civilian deaths will probably come from fellow Nigerians, not foreign troops.
Same thing with someone saying troops will force civilians to fight, funny, with what manpower are those troops going to round up tens of thousands of civilians, while those same troops are needed on the front lines. Won't happen, in a country where the Govt have no real record of the people within it's borders, or where they even live. Good luck with that.
Not saying war is rosy or there won't be deaths etc, let's just hope it doesn't come to all that, and yes, like we've all said over and over, Nigeria is under-prepared for war with a more powerful adversary

When I hear about spies/defectors during wartime being given huge incentives to sell secret info about their countries or defect and compare the situation to Nigeria. Fear they catch me, because many people will sabotage this country without any incentives sef. Take IPOB for example, Nigerians might even be the one giving incentives to enemy nation to scatter the country. No sense of patriotism whatsoever save for few, you won't blame them sha because they've being short-changed by the leaders for decades.
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by LTGEN: 9:47pm On May 18, 2019
This is an unlikely scenario.
However let me say this .Nationalisim does not win wars.
Some of the same people spouting of here would be mandated to fight.
It is easy to spout of and over analyze every problem Nigeria has.
It is not the same as invading Nigeria.
The US has struggled mightily in Afghanistan in fact they have given up and are secretly trying to make peace with the Taliban.
No the harsh reality of war and the difficulties that it entails would not make Nigeria an easy target.
Conscription does not make one and all a better Soldier .
Either you born a good Soldier or you are not.
The Saudis are an obvious example.
The Qataris on the other hand are known for being very tough .
If Nigeria were invaded for all the wrong reasons
I like millions of would definitely defend Nigeria.
Those who will, will. those who won't won't
In any Country there are traitors
That is a fact
Be it the US, UK " China , Russia or Algeria.
Nigeria is no exception.

I’d fight for Nigeria, no idle boast here. Nigeria has done nothing for me save host my parents that gave birth to me. Nigeria will do nothing for me, but I’d fight for Nigeria. Some would say, are you Nigerian not Isoko? and I’d say until Isoko becomes its own Nation, I’m Nigerian Isoko. I would fight for Nigeria because I’ve never been selfish, couldn’t live with myself seeing others that share that Nation with my parents being inflicted with death, suffering and humiliation by foreign forces. Call me names all you want but I’ve come to terms with finite nature of life, there’s only so much one can achieve, fighting and dying for ones homeland whatever the flaws in that homeland is no real waste all are dirth after death, from ironstein to Ojo, remembering or forgetting their names does nothing for them.

21st century war isn't against the people, even previous ones, my guess at least, No invading Nation is gonna go home to home slaughtering unarmed civilians, that's gross exaggeration, unless its some rogue nation doing the invasion, there are still rules of engagements, like it or not.
In fact once the military of such country is defeated, it's done. The idea that a Country will invade another and commit mass slaughter , I''m not buying that, unless they have some unstable govt and troops don't care about the rules of war, think Sudan / south sudan kind of thing grin, but a legit country, won't happen

Rules of engagement?,a very naive notion,in war, there are no pretty rules or textbook theories, only chaos and blood. Everyone does whatever it takes to achieve victory. I haven't experienced one before but I am a disciple of history, and I know that all wars are the same, either 16th century or 21st century.

An invading country will slaughter any section of the populace they percieve as a threat, both military and civilian. Especially if the intent is to occupy. Local resistance will be met with heavy kinetic force, and at the end of the day over half of the casualty will be the innocent civilians; half of which will die of starvation, disease and anti-resistance purges.

In the 1970s Syria was a model Country.
After its disastrous war with Israel.
Hafez Assad cooled his. ass down.
Then the spring revolution began.
According to Baba Owen
The US gave a gentleman's warning before they started testing their weapons and capability of their SFs
In fact. the Russians also asked nicely so the Syrians could relocate their Mothers.
The Turkish Army at the Border paused to say their prayers as they got out of their Leopard Tanks that were overheating.
Each of them have had their fair share of Collateral damage on the poor wretched Syrians.
I didn't even mention the Israeli Airforce who
conduct target practice on the Iranian Quds.
There this is what an Invasion / War will bring.
I won't even respond to Baba Owen .He just rants into the wind about his pathological. hatred for Nigeria.
Nash .I like millions of other Nigerians will fight for Nigeria.
Not running to Benin Republic
Each man has a choice to face if their Country is invaded .
Some will be cowards
Some will go to war
In Yoruba I will be a Balogun.
One who goes to War.

Yes sir, perhaps you can enlighten us about Nigeria's rules of engagement during an invasion, let me guess, more brutality against the already brutalized masses? Tell me more.
Your ass will be drafted forcefully, really? Using what personnel? Nigeria simply don't have the resources to forcefully draft anybody, do you even know how many cities, towns and villages there are in Nigeria? Both remote and not, yea, good luck with that draft, i hope they stock up on gas, they're gonna need it, and lots of spares for their vehicles, it's gonna be a long drive.
This is a highly disorganized country, where the police probably don't even have database of the people within each state, give a Nigerian police a fake ID and he won't know the difference, how you gonna find them?. smh

Thanks you wrote some will pick up arms and majority won't, atleast that's a starting point. In the second world War not everybody picked up arms against the invading force, some that viewed them as a liberating force later had to fight for survival. Some of the Jews in conquered territories where neutral until they later got to know the Germans where a real threat to their existence.

Afropessimistic sentiments among Nigerians is very disturbing. I don't know how someone that:

1. Probably attended a government owned school(primary, secondary or/and tertiary)
2. Uses tarred roads built with public funds and untolled(Nigeria has only two tolled roads, and they are tolled by the Lagos state government)
3. Uses electricity (which is so heavily subsidized and regulated by the government that the distribution companies are barely making profit)
4. Uses fuel(which is again heavily subsidized)
5. Buys agricultural products that we're grown with subsidized fertilizers
6. Uses the naira (which the government has spent over half of our foreign reserves within the last 3 years trying to defend from collapse and hyperinflation)
7. Sleeps and wakes in peace(thanks to billions of dollars in security budget)
8. Uses Nigerian banks, which happen to be some of the best banks in Africa and the world. Again, thanks to government intervention that prevented a total decay of the banking industry etc

Then say he/she haven't benefitted anything from the government??.

mtcheww grin

How about buhari that is telling us to accommodate killer Fulani herdsmen killing Nigerians all over the country? Is he also a traitor or not?

Or military officers that are stealing funds meant for buying equipment, are they also traitors or not?

Or ministers, commissioners and contractors that do steal monies that are supposed to be use for constructing roads, are they traitors too?

Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world, yet our political office holders are earning millions of naira as salary and allowance. Why can't they be a patriot by slashing their salary to the national minimum wage of #30,000 and there allowance should not be up to 250k.

El-rufai paid killer Fulani herdsmen to stop killing people in Kaduna, he said foreign election observers will end up in body bags, but his third wife and her children are living a good life in Indonesia.

Why should I be the one that provides power supply for myself, drive on terrible roads, endured police brutality that should die for Nigeria

A friend of mine wasiu was shot dead by thugs in fadeyi. till today the thugs still walk around freely in fadeyi, we reported to the police. Dey did nothing, we were told they are tinubu boys shocked till today whenever those thugs fight on ikorodu road along fadeyi axis with guns, machete, bottles and other dangerous weapons OP MASA,RRS and other security agencies will do nothing about it.
I have never enjoyed anything as a Nigeria.

Before I know it, after 2-3 days e was released and he kept on terrorising people cry if no be say opponent kill am, this guy will still be terrorising people up and down.

Is my right to fight for Nigeria or not, millions of people are ready to fight for Nigeria, while millions like me see no reason to fight for Nigeria.

Everybody with him own choice.
Nah me know wetin my eyes don see for this country, no justice at all.

So I own my life, no idiot have the right to call me a traitor or not.
