MTNN is a GAME CHANGER

For those comparing MTNN dividend yield with other stocks,

MTN GROUP is a global BRAND that don't cook their financials like most public quoted coys do in NSE. So its like camparing APPLE with ORANGES.

like I said earlier FOREIGN INVESTORS will comfortably buy MTNN at $1 than leave their fund in other poo called stocks.

Their parent coy MTN GROUP currently trades at 10000 Rands per share which is equivalent of N250000 Naira per share.

Above all (most 90%) fund leaving other stock to take position in MTNN are for LONG TERM so they AIN'T coming back anytime soon..

And its already happening at our very own eyes .Ask yourself how many coys in NSE will be able to pay fine of N330bllion and still stand FIRM.

That's why I said if coy CEO don't sit up and make their shareholders happy. We will wake one day to discover NIGERIA STOCK MARKET (NSE) renamed MTN STOCK MARKET (MSE)

"THINGS will NEVER remain the SAME "

Lol cheesy I haven't entered, I was busy, so didn't do much in trading today. But come to think of it. Assuming that NSE has 4 trillion before mtn listing, and now they have listed at #99. Then the same people that has stake in 4 trillion now have interest in newly listed mtn which they started buying at #99 with over 100 billion bid everyday and about 5/10 billion naira sales daily, and they chased it upto 144.85, still on bid. Naturally 4 trillion has been reduced, meaning that many companies financial strength has reduce by sharing it with mtn, with no new foreign money seem coming in or going towards other stock.

This ordinary suppose to force all the stocks to shade shape before rebalancing, things will not remain same with the listing of mtn, MM/ other stock participant can't move out their money and expect to have same financial capacities, even if they return back later not 100% will return back with them, some will stay back in mtn and be struggling to hold reasonable amount of share in mtn.

We may likely not witness massive bull as we assuming before, upon massive loss in many fundamental stock ASI still climb to 31,000+, Dancem make a move to maintain number one lead, but nothing last forever, if care is not taking mtn sooner will take over from Dancem as number one leader in NSE, unless he technically fight them.

Problem here is when will one see the bottomless bottom of the current market 52 weeks low, the bottom might not be insight this week. As some still view mtn from negative side of view, I see it as stock to grab when one see the opportunity, and to leave before q2 result if need be, because since they are looking at IPO the stock might still go higher.

Bro, how do you mean @ the bolded?
If you mean the market capitalization of the companies, remember they dont need that to run their business. It only measures the size of the company compared to others generally.
Otherwise, financial strength of a company basically refers to the working capital and every other cash accessible to the company (including retained earnings) for operating the business profitably.
So no company "shared money" with MTN please. Rather, na shareholders dey "share money" (buy and sell). grin

The truth is no one exactly knows when that "bottomless bottom" of a stock will show

And even when it gets to the so called bottom, quite a number of people will still not buy out of FEAR hoping it will get cheaper tomorrow.

If you must take foreign loan, don't play the NSE with it.
Two options:
1. Play the NYSE
OR
2. Play Eurobond @ 9-10% coupon rates.

Baba in addition, i wld say if u a going to play NSE look at the possibility of buying FX forwards (dont know if it is open to individuals) to hedge the risk of currency volatility that u a wary of

the number 2 though is quite preferable because at cost of 4% your transaction wld only become a carry trade (of 5% net) in same currency so no currency risk

Number 2 is the best option because you end up doing what banks do at a very low risk and without stress. One can even turn it to business/hustle depending on how much funds you can get access to.

I don't mean company working capital, but individual investors capital. For instance before recession and before election when foreign investors were pulling out their fund from NSE, they didn't pullout the companies working capital but their individuals capital, and that really affected the market.

First and foremost MTNN has made BILLIONS of DOLLARS in profit from Nigerians since Aug 2001 when they launched their STARTER PACK. and they areant willing to share their PROFITS with local investors.

Now that they were made to list under duress they will definitely device means to push the share price far away from the reach of local investors and their GAME PLAN is WORKING perfectly.

DAILY STOCK MARKET GUIDE FOR 23 MAY 2019

MSCI fired some selling shorts, bought Dangote Cement while selling some other equities.

Market likely to be shaky today.

Government should stop playing politics with MTN listing, let the shareholders decide what quantities to sell. If there is IPO other interests will get their own share.
