Hello guys, thank you for all the information on visa so far.

1. Please can someone explain what is a SOA?
2. Also, i have interview in July and I have my I-20 and admission letter, however....I don't really have any bank statement to use. Please can you advice.

If I know someone I can ask about bank Statement but it contradicts the name I put on the application form...wouldn't it affect my chances?

It is always good to sought out yourself entirely before submitting the DS 160. Even the consulate said it recently on Facebook that misrepresentation on the DS160 can lead to denial.

Putting A as your sponsor and going with B's statement of account would be the most silly thing to do and you'll be susceptible to all forms of nagative impression.

Hello everyone,

Please can I use a Bank of America account statement for the visa interview.

Do you think the VO might have issues verifying it.

Thank you in anticipation of your responses.

God has always retained His position as the almighty... He has been the almighty before you and I were ever conceived... regardless of whether you get a visa or not. If i never read a bible, one would think God existed solely to grant Nigerians everything they ask for - especially visas to escape the hell on earth they created with their own hands. Good luck.
Nice response baba. God is God in himself

You can use it. The VO can verify BoA statement easier than naija bank sef. Best of luck

This is a public forum. What of If the Visa officers are ready this post? What impression do you want to give him/her about us. They will all think we bring any statement of account for the purpose of interview and it will make the VOs more strict on statement of account. Please be cautioned on what you post here

My sincere apologies

Yes, he didn't seem to like the idea. He said family friend, but I don't think that establishes a strong relationship

Make sure you have all the basic and required document with you. Sevis Fee confirmation receipt, GTB visa fee receipt, I-20 (signed and dated), appointment confirmation, DS160 confirmation, 2 passport photograph of the same you uploaded online, scholarship letter (if any), test score result printout (in case the consular wish to see, which is rare), sponsor official bank statement. That is all.

Wish you the best!

Oga, all you scribbled here is wrong.

If your Indian, Lebanese or Nigerian boss in Corporate Nigeria used words like "shut up", the same does not apply everywhere. The corporate culture differs across different countries. In Corporate America, you don't use words carelessly to address people. Many CEOs and Senior Managers have resigned because they used harsh words to address people and were prosecuted for it. So, don't sit in your bedroom and write things you know nothing about. By the way, it is "corporate" and not "corperate"

I have always said that if you believe every word on every transcript you see here, you are fooling yourself. A lot of transcripts here are padded, adulterated or fitted with words to make them sound interesting. In some cases, it is very easy to spot such transcripts and in other cases, it may be difficult. A few days ago, someone mentioned that she paused the VO to tell the VO how she fell into the gutter to gather her visa documents that were not asked during the interview. A VO that has no time to listen to more than three reasons why you chose a school suddenly had time to pause her interviews to listen to the ordeal of a visa applicant and how she fell into a gutter and prayed and fasted before arriving for the interview.

That transcript (and this one) are some of the many padded transcripts here on NL. Take it or leave it.

You are correct a corporate America citizen in an official environment will never use such words on you.

People are bee sue for that, I undergo a training for something like this before I started working as a graduate teaching assistant in my school.

You're 100% correct.
And the VOs are well trained professionals to say the least.
Saying 'shut up' is as bad as saying 'f**k you' in the corporate system.

So i have noticed that the VOs almost always ask how many universities an interviewee applied to.
Unfortunately i only applied to one in the US and i got in, the other schools i applied to are in the UK.

Is this a disadvantage for me? Also I wouldn't want to lie but i'm worried how badly this can impact my chances.

Can the experienced seniors here in the house please help out?

There is no harm in saying you applied to schools in other countries. Just be ready to why USA and not other countries.

Thanks Time2win for your response. But any advice on the part where i only applied to one university in the US. Should i apply to more to make up for numbers or will i be fine if i just mention that i applied to this one that offered me the admission?
