Thanks jare, I've read it too. There's no such thing as easy money anywhere. You have to work hard for it! Anyone lavishing money anyhow most likely got it through suspicious means. Besides Ghana is fast becoming the hub of ritual money. Most of their money ritualists even have Facebook pages where they advertise. I won't be surprised if our people have gotten involved in it.
Don't talk about a country you know nothing about

I am not sure what someone with an above-average-level command of written english in nigeria today would end up in a ghetto in Accra. Good story, just does not add up.

I had to definitely cut the whole story short because I can't explain it all here on NL so maybe that's the reason you won't understand. Come to think about it, who English help for naija

I based in Ghana and the op is telling you exactly the true story of life here in the country, I experienced it though but not like he did. Going to Abidjan would've been his worst nightmare ever in life. Nothing is fiction in all he's saying here, guys are really passing through hell in the jungle.
Thank God you're doing well now.

well

Ivorians are laid back tho

that gives we as igbo men the space to make some bucks here and there

But then we have the Lebanese to contend with

But that aside

NiggerArea dey fall hand big time
it pains me evryday

Look at Senegal, Look at Rwanda, look at even Accra....

they are crawling ahead while that nigger country chose to be stagnant.

the only countries I have been to that are worse and more Niggerly than NiggerArea are Liberia, Guinea Conakty and Sierra Leone

Liberia should be the worst country on this continent undecided
Even Burkina dey try in their own way

as for what you are suggesting, i like how you are looking at positives

But hey, like my uncle will say in igbo "one does not take pride in suffering"
why do you guys use the word "even","ordinary" or "common" before Ghana or say Accra.Trust me,we feel offended when we see it.Especially we the modern generation Ghanaians.I have read and followed the comments of this thread and I sense people tryna get a go against Ghana, again! by acting sentimental about the op's unfortunate incident.Nobody can blame Ghana or the system here for his unplanned arrival besides Cote D'Ivoire was his goal.Imagine he stranded in a low developing French country. He couldn't have survive so early to tell his story so cut Ghana some slack. This is not to you buh through you to all those Nigerians tryna discredit our humble society.

he wasn't going to Ghana.Cote D'Ivoire was his destination and he didn't even have a phone contact of the people he was meeting in cote D'Ivoire and they weren't even friends. He crash landed into Accra cos he didn't even have a one week source of livelihood in a foreign country not to talk of a return bus ticket only to rely on a friend he claims to have chatted and called in Accra saying, "it was pre arranged for him to host him in Ghana"only to be refused cold heartedly. And don't insult Ghana because we care less about your so called "above-average-level command of written english".They are never any better than Ghanaians on the streets working hard to make ends meet.

God will not make you stranded in a strange land. Both of them has been communicating even before he left the shore of this country.

DonFebzyBlog's story is so true...

NIGERIANS SHOULD NOT THINK LIFE IS BETTER OUTSIDE OUTSIDE ALWAYS!!!

Experienced similar things over ten years ago, but I used my intellect and even taught in school there (John kufuor to Mills time) and with help from my wonderful brother overseas, I was able to return home!

Life is HARD in Ghana, especially for Nigerians, but I made use of their facilities well, library, school common rooms, reading parks, agbogbloshie, etc.

Went to that winners church sometimes too North Kaneshie side. It was in Accra that I saw the most number of mad people on the streets-there are always in multitudes. Saw one Camerounian woman once there in 2008,saw an oyinbo or which fellow mad near the central biz district, near the/overseeing the Atlantic ocean area= I guess he had ran outter money!!! But I had a rented apartment with my brother's kind assistance...

THANK GOD FOR THE PEOPLE CHRIST JESUS USED TO HELP YOU, especially those that gave you directions to the Embassy and the GENTLEMAN GOD USED TO BRING SANITY AND SALVATION TO YOU AT THE EMBASSY!!!

My brother always says:: If you want to travel overseas/abroad, USE PLANE!

lol, better than who?I don't know about Nigeria buh you dare not compare Cote D'Ivoire to Ghana. They're beneath us.Do you know the number of Ivorian refugees in Ghana. We all have almost the same population buh we beat them in every index in development and progress. Our GDP,per capita income, electricity, water, education health eveeything is better than them, far less poor people than them, they are our neighbors and we know more about them so I know what am talking about.Their people are all over Ghana together with all those French nations. We share the largest ethnic group with them.

Charlie, thank God for your life. And next time prepare yourself very well both financially and otherwise.Let me tells you this,Nigeria is still the cheapest country to stay when you compare her to these two countries you planned to shuffled as plan A and B.Lastly,to those intending travelling out of naija please save and have plenty money before you embark on your sojourn.

you see the problem witg Ghanaians like you...

travel you will not travel..

Do you know the number of Ghanaian refugees in Treichville/Abobo?

You know how many Ghana girls are roaming the streets of Carrefou koweit and other corners of Youpougon as hookers?

Côte d'ivore has a bigger economy than Ghana (they are the second biggest after Nigeria) and they have better infrastructures than Ghana (no dumsor tongue)

they attract more fdi too don't forget that...

Ghana can compare with Senegal sha
But not Ivory Coast

Even in Nigeria here, the Nigerians here can attest that there are so msny refugees from Ghana in Nigeria too

so that is not a metric

Ivorians I know who go to Ghana is mostly to learn English and all (knew a couple studying English courses in Accra)

So guy, quit that arrogance

Ghana ain't $hit as you are portraying it

Travek around and you will see

that's all I'll tell you

malians and togolese people live in Ghana in their numbers too, and I can say Ghana is ahead of these two because I have been there

But Ghana vs Ivory Coast?

forget it!

The infrastructures and planning in Abidjan and yamousoukro

Accra, Kumasi and Lagos cannot measure up in 20 years

like I said, Come and see for yourself

Ghana is good
But infrastructures wise, CIV is better

refugee do not have to be political

Economic refugees are what many Ghanaians, Nigerians and indeed most Africans are ......

denying that is living in delusion

And Dumsor did not die in 2015..
I experienced lights out in East legon for 8 to 12 hours last week (the day after the heavy rains grin).
you think I don't come to Ghana enough to know all these?

CIV has better infrastructure than Ghana
And that is a fact...

come over and see for yourself

I respect Ghana for one thing tho

Not fighting a civil war

That means you guys are somewhat reasonable
that's good

But you guys better take care of that unrest in the north, before it snowballed into something else

You are not getting my point

and I will not explain further

Quality of life in NiggerArea is amongst the worst
So mitigate against that, you need a whole lot...

And yea, i run a business in CIV, but get to travel to other destinations to spend some time....

the country has a unique charm that's why I planted some roots there.....

That's just it....

And yes, I'll say it anytime, They have a better standard of living than NiggerArea

And it's a functioning country cheesy

Ease of doing business A1

etc

Eventually I will need to settle properly to raise kids and all, cos nomad life has expiry date

But even if I don't raise kids in CIV, that country has a special place in my heart for being so good to me.
