Thanks for this. The ish is that I might not include I am enrolled in a university here due to the reasons you cited. I can explain the gaps, but I do not have any certifications To go with what I might say.

Bracha:
Here is my opinion on this:

I believe you could get the visa, BUT you'd need to explain the 6 years gap convincingly, if you don't include in your SOP that you're currently in your second year at a university here. If you do include the info about being already enrolled in Nigeria, you'd have to explain why you're choosing Canada which is much more expensive, and believe me a strong excuse would have to be used here, one very convincing to sway the VO.

Either way it's up to you to decide to finish here or not. If you do decide to go for the undergraduate, you'll need to send your WAEC transcripts/certificate.

There need to be a change of direction and a heart of tolerance. We are already in page 31 and more than half of it is filled with avoidable arguments that someone could simply ignore or let it slide for peace sake. Pls let the gurus show some level of maturity so we can all learn better in a peaceful environment.

@Frankrobbn1...I know you have partly answered my questions in the last thread, but I will like to know,if paying tuition has any effect on study permit application?Does it makes any sense if you choose not to pay tuition but have the money in your bank account? Can I use a co-sponsor in my application,my sibling and also a cousin with business account? Is there any express application for study permit?...Thanks in advance for your response.I will be waiting on your swift response, because it will propel, if I need to apply or defer admission.

95seun:

Paying school fees has no effect on granting of TRV. There’s more to the TRV application than paying of fees. However, you need to satisfy the VO that you can afford both fees, upkeep and any other miscellaneous expenses for a year.
Options available to you include but are not limited to paying of fees but be knowledgeable on the schools refund policy, or having the funds in your account / sponsors account.
You can use a sponsor, co sponsor .. answer to this has already been hashed and rehashed on previous threads.
And nope there’s no express application option for TRV applications made by Nigerians.

Sorry for the late reply.... I hope 95seun's response answered your questions.

It's sad to have noticed that there were series of arguments and lots of uncomplimentary statements in the last few pages of the thread, which was far away from the purpose this reputable platform was originally created. Inquirer's should learn to appreciate the time, advices given to them by the honourable members of this forum and I implore the gurus to always learn to carry the new bies along with patience, joy and humility through the process while we progress to achieveing our goals for the betterment of ourselves and to this platform.

Justwise, It's very important you take drastic measures to eradicate irrelevant topics and post pasted on this thread as the forum is fast derailing with superfluous moral principles.

Good evening gurus I'm to reapply this week pls how can I tackle or write a letter of explanation on these problems below. Pls help me"I have reviewed the application. Based on the *financial documents submitted*, the Applicant appears to have a *moderate level of establishment* in their country of residence, and as a consequence, this visit does not appear to be a reasonable expense. in addition, *I have therefore accorded less weight to the applicant's economic ties*. The applicant's *purpose of visit appears vague* and poorly documented. The applicant's prior travel history is insufficient to count as a positive factor in my assessment. Weighing the factors in this application, I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. For the reasons above, I have refused this application."

Good Day everyone, I just discovered this thread and found it to be amazing.

I was denied study visa few months ago based on purpose of visit only. I just received my GCMS from IRCC. The VO final comment on the last page stated that " The applicant study plan appears vague and poorly documented. The applicant does not sufficiently established that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expenses"

I planned to study child and youth care (two years diploma). I stated in my SOP that i would setup youth care center in Nigeria after my study.

Please i need insight on how to tackle the VO concern in my next application.

Your gcms was pretty much straightforward.

1. You need a comprehensive study plan explaining why you need the program to establish your organisation in Nigeria.

2. Also getting supporting documents to back up your claim is essential.

3. You also need a letter of explanation to explain the newly introduced supporting documents and how they help clarify your previous refusal clauses.

The VO raised 6 different reasons to why your application was refused. You need more tham just a letter of explanation to deal with your refusal. You have to reevaluate your application starting from proving your economic ties to Nigeria(I have a detailed post where I spoke about documents you can use to this effect).

The VO stated a poorly written study plan, which means you have to reconstruct a new sop.

P.s: I don't see why you need to rush another application. Economic ties alone is something to take your time on. You can always defer your admission and take your time to get the relevant informations you need.

An extract from my previous posts to prove your economic ties.

1. TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE: When last did you pay company tax. You write about how passionate you are about your country in your sop but can't provide a tax certificate. This single most important document proves to a vo you have a company that is well ingrained in Nigeria.

2. TIN registration: It is important to get a tax identification number and scan the letter confirming your TIN number in your application.
3. Car ownership certificate: yes scan the certificate showing you ownership of your vehicle. Most especially if you have a nice ride. This shows a VO that you are doing ok in Nigeria.

4. Work assets & Machineries: Perhaps you purchased an asset from china a few years back for your company and still have the receipt you can scan snd present it in a coherent way. You don't want to confuse a vo because the next thing is some generic refusal hence order gcms note.

5. Proof of past/future contracts: Have you executed some contracts in the past (1-5yrs) you can include this. If you also have some contracts coming up you can include proof.

6. Reference letters: You can have certified and verified companies you've worked with in the past write you reference letters to show your prudence.

7. Regulatory bodies Certificates : Every industry in Nigeria is regulated by a designated party. It is important to be certified by these bodies. Presenting proof of this certification will strengthen your application.

Let me share something i learnt from here concerning study gaps, hope it helps.
''Simply outline Month/Year of all work experience
-Trainings, personal development, attending job career fairs,
Account for every single month unemployed, since after graduating.
For example: If you graduated Sept 2013
Then
Nov 2013-Nov 2014 - Nysc(state job description in brief)
Jan2014- March 2014-Computer ict training (make sure there's a backup certificate ooo)
April 2014 September 2014-ICTt instructor at so so place
October 2014-Janu-Workshop etc.. .. .. ... ...

Also, regarding your proposed course, analyze to the VO areas in your proposed course that are not included in the similar program available in Nigeria. You can do this by visiting the school's website.

Lastly, dear you cannot be your sponsor, nit with your work history. look for a direct family member(preferably with same surname will really save you stress) with account up to 10 mill or more, (may or may not be up to, d gurus will correct me if i m wrong) then back up with yours, browse extensively limiting your search to '' Nairaland '' even with google, it will take you to threads that has your questions answered.
God bless.. .
Thank you

Yes it does,I appreciatecthe contribution, but I will appreciate if you can laid more emphasis more on the tuition,do I have to keep it in my bank account or the sponsor must have it inside his own account? The truth is that I'm getting so much advise outside of this platform that it's more advisable to pay or I defer my admission. Please enlighten me more on this issue.

Hello house, just a quick question for our very helpful gurus here: what is the minimum amount needed in one's sponsor' statement of account. Someone who claims to know says #5 million for a one year program but I personally think it's not enough. Am I wrong? Please kindly answer only if you are very sure.

*fees is about 18500 CAD

Even after tuition payment, the said amount is still low. I will personally recommend 8m or 10m above, though certain citcumstances might also be involved.

Good luck!

Hi everyone good evening, I’ve been following this thread for quite a while now and only decided to post now because I’m in a dilemma.
So I got admitted to U OF M for a masters in human rights, I’m an International Relations graduate by the way, attached to this admission I got $10,000 scholarship and I’m about to submit my visa application since I’m suppose to resume this September, just found out yesterday. I’m confused on what method of application to do, whether online or paper cos I feel like the online application might take time. I’ve worked on all the things I need
SOP
POLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATE
BANK STATEMENT (getting it on Tuesday)
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
MY MOMS LANDED DOCUMENTS (she’s also my sponsor)
BIRTH CERTIFICATE SHOWING I AND MY MOMS RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE SHE CHANGED HER NAME AFTER MY DAD DIED
I really need y’alls advice on which way to go because if I miss this opportunity (hopefully not) I would be hurt beyond words
Can’t defer cos the program is a September intake only and scholarship is only valid for fall 2019 so I have to leave in September and I also forgot to mention it’s a new program and department we are the first ones.
Thank you

To the experienced people here, pls I'm on the verge of submitting my study permit application. I have a close tie sponsor(my brother) with sufficient fund for my masters application. My questions are:
(1) If it makes any difference that he transfers the money into my account or it may remain in his account while I only present his bank statement.
(2) since I am being sponsored, is it necessary that I provide my bank account statement too?

Pls your authoritative replies are highly appreciated.
