Lol.

Then, stick to only Dividend paying stocks for now.

Fortunately for you the market is almost at the bottom and you cherry pick value stocks at will.

Hello my fellow investors and gurus in the house.

I just registered for a new account on morgan capital' website, hope they respond.

I presently run an account with CTB firm.
Will running two accounts with different firms affect my trading processes?

Pls advice?

Hahaha.

Honestly, why bother investing in individual stocks when less than 10% of investors actually beat the market?

I'd rather invest in an ETF tracking the NSE...then my return will be more or less on par with the market.

This your choice of selection is dope for the long term, my only reservation is just eterna (please what informed your choice of selecting it, I wouldn't mind looking into it in future). And dat portfolio looks like 60% banking (Nigeria my fatherland - crazy policies might shake this portfolio small o), however amount allocated to each stock would take care of that. Just for proper representation in each sector (this is personal - my own meaning of a well diversified portfolio , may not be applicable to all), I hope you wouldn't mind if I added the following to the list

Ucap (2.25 and below)
Upl (1.6)
Berger paints (6)
Dang sugar (if it ever comes below 11 again)
Uacn(6)
Nahco (2.8 and below)
Redstar express (5)
Cap plc (25)
This list is obviously not exclusive and is subject to change /review by the gurus in the house, however, one can keep enjoying the dividend (most would give close to 10% dividend yield when picked at the right price) until their potential is discovered by the investing public when one can now sell when it becomes overpriced.

It just occurred to me that all of you kept mute when we mentioned that Regains cancelled dividend pay out but when fidelity cut dividend from 22k to 11k, we know how many pages you wasted doing forth and back with Chibuking being the chairman then. undecided
Issorite. Another one will happen, let's see anyone drag it beyond one page and see if police will not arrest him/her. undecided

Unfortunately, Nigeria etf is not a guarantee for beating the index. Our ETFs are still in the teething stage. More or being run like mutual funds. With high running cost and underperformance.
NSE is just a unique bourse, most of the foreign based ETFs that tried to track NSE were badly burnt.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2019/05/28/nigeria-has-become-africas-money-losing-machine/#89191077ac36

Investors in Nigeria based ETFs have lost about 30%.
In other words, no etf has reported profit nor beat the exchange in the past two years.
Cherry picking, due diligence, prepared for the best and the opposite will see investors through. Hopefully the NIG economy will recover after the tenure of AL JUBRIL Momodu Buhari.
For now, dividend paying stocks is the way to go.
Accumulate all you could now. By 2028 as predicted by Fitch, Nigeria economy will bounce.
The low you are buying now will be high by then. Same for the ETFs.

Fitch was misquoted. According to them, it would take 10years for Nigerian economy to recover from Nextlevel. Open the link and see. By implication, 1years should start from 2023 - 2033.https://nairametrics.com/2019/06/21/fitch-claims-until-2028-before-nigeria-exits-damage-caused-by-buharinomics/

There is no controversy nor argument on dz. We can all see the contracting Nigeria economy.. Two consecutive quarter of contraction, preceeded by 2 annual contractions... Hmmmm
Dz is worst than a technical recession. We do not need the Fitch, the S&P, the moody of dz world to tell us that buharinomics has failed Nigerians.
Your N1, 000,000 in zenith and GTB in 2017 is worth less than 60%of your capital. Where is the growth
I think we can rate our nation better than Fitch and Co.
Majority of NSEMPA members can attest to this.
We are all opmistic dt tins will get better.
With EMEFIELE re-appointed, I doubt if the stagnancy in the Economy will not persists.
