Good day ladies and Gent.
You people are really doing a good job here.
My cousin brother who is very active in the US thread directed me to this thread to seek for urgent help. I applied for a study visa on March 26th with an upfront medicals. My upfront medicals was updated to pass on May 15th. I received passport request on May 21st. I submitted my passport on a Friday being May24th.

Ever since then I haven’t heard from cic why the delay not until June 21st they contacted me about a fraudulent bank statement I used for my application. I have been given 10days to respond. Please what can I do, this is my 4th day and the time is fast ticking, I need help. I don’t want to be banned, I have even broadcasted about my traveling. This shame is gonna be too much on me. Has anyone ever excaped this issue before? Please gurus and non gurus your advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks @Frankrobbn1 @Qudom @Justmellow etc

Hello CharlesRay1990,

Sorry to hear about your situation. Did you apply through an agent? Clearly, this shows IRCC do conduct further verification process even after PPR or in the process of meeting eligibility requirements when PPR was sent, further verification conducted was still in process.

Who was your sponsor?

What you have to do is approach the bank that issued the bank statement to issue an authenticated letter stating the genuineness of the BS which a copy would be sent directly from the banks cooperate email with an attached reprinted BS if possible while a copy of the letter will be given to you to respond to the procedural faireness letter. If your application was processed by an agent, attached a written explanation letter to this effect of the agent's activities the BS. If the bank have an account ticket ID and password available to their clients, request for it and send along the letter from the bank.

To be fair, when sent a procedural fairness letter, it takes grace to overturn it, but I do hope your case is different. If also possible, print out a 1yr BS and indicate the reflection of 6 months in it, which you applied with, attach it to your written letter.

I wish you the best of luck!

Yes and that is quite sad. Not just for canada but the fact he might get flagged in terms of visiting connecting countries like USA, Uk and the likes.

Yeah I've got enough time. My BRP expires in October and the processing time for study permit in the UK is 3 weeks.

Boss, forget about the 3 weeks processing time. The processing time will take minimum of 5 weeks. Passport request, submission and return will take at least another 1 week.

For both online and paper applications in London, UK, you will not submit your passport.

Make sure you apply on time.

Hello house,

I have a little issue here; How do I resolve the issue of employment? I started working with my uncle who’s my sponsor around March, but then I have to show Statement of Account and pay slip in my new application. But he hasn’t paid money stating salary payment. What can I do? Can I change the date of employment to like a May? So he can pay in some money in my account, showing salary payment?

Pls advice

ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST!!! (May applicant)

Experience is truly the best teacher, and my Canadian Sucess story made me believe the saying “EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING”!!! I know very well my story will motivate or strengthen some people never to give up in whatever that interests them, pursue it desperately like your life depends on it!! Yes I mean it.
Before I proceed, below is my timeline.

Online Application (2nd Application)
Submitted May 9th (10:57pm)
Upfront medicals passed on 11th June
Correspondence letter (today by 10:12am)
Original passport request (today by 10:32am)

This experience is my most difficult experience in life so far, I have always thought I can have anything I want in life but this Canada journey taught me that “Human beings can make any plans they want, but it’s God that decides their Sucess or failure”. I don’t even know where to begin from, but only God, Myself and @frankrobbn1 can tell my tragedy-comedy story.

So exactly a year today 20th June 2018, I submitted a paper route application and It was refused within 4weeks based on family ties, purpose of visit , personal assets and financial assets. Meanwhile, I have a Bsc in Biochemistry with overall CGPA 4.15 and last two year CGPA 4.71 , going for 2year diploma, paid tution fee $8,880cad.
when I received my refusal letter, I cried that very day like never before and till date my first refusal date 18th July,2018 still remains the worst day of my life, and the agent my parents used was just after money. After crying, knowing how bad i needed to leave this country I woke from my comfort zone and began my personal research, this was how I came across this wonderful forum and started reading up!

Through this wonderful platform I met an angel in human form, a motivator, my soulmate and my support system @frankrobbn1, may God bless you richly for me. Frank took his time to explain the errors in my application starting from advising me to secure a masters admission and that is nearly impossible to convince a VO on why diploma and not masters considering my high Gp, and secondly that my application is as empty as anything, I didn’t even submit my family’s information, no assets declared, no employment evidence and so on.

So I began my admission hunt and the devil started his work. Almost all the schools offering my course/ or related course requires a supervisor , and you know how difficult securing a supervisor can be. Some schools I contacted will tell me pump and play that I must identify a supervisor before applying while some will tell me to apply that they will assign me a supervisor once am admitted! I fell to their tricks and lost my application fee, I also tried contacting supervisors all kept turning me down. I kept sending countless mails to different supervisors in different universities all to no avail, some would always come up late with their negative mails of not having space in their lab while some will totally ignore me. I got feed up and I decided to stop sending mails but to call them on phone at least to get a straight forward response rather than waiting for their response that takes weeks and at the end must be negative. I made it as one of my daily activities to call at least 10 supervisors daily, and I did this for months!!! Even the ones that later accepted to supervise me though without funding just all of a sudden will deny even knowing me after I have submitted my application hoping I have secured a supervisor.

In general, I applied to 6 different universities in a space of 8months and all turned me down. I kept asking myself who did I offend? who is after my progress? Through this same wonderful forum I met a very nice fellow @agronat. Immediately he posted about him securing a masters admission with funding, i pm him to put me through, and that was how I realized the vital points/information missing out in my application and the reasons behind my refusals regardless of my high scores. And today am glad that my finally attempt landed me a full fulled scholarship worth $38,076CAD at BROCK UNIVERSITY ONTARIO , 2 years MSc in Biotechnology. Big thanks to @frankrobbn1 for recommending Brock University to me. I nearly craze that day (April 18th, 2019)!!! NB: the scholarship covers my tution and living expenses with extra left, I was also guaranteed a graduate assistantship position. Isn’t God great? This was when I realized that God was preparing something greater for me.

Fast forward to my visa application, guru @frankrobbn1 finished work.. I personally wrote my SOP and LOE, but when frank was done reviewing it I couldn’t recognize my LOE and SOP .. lol, he reconstructed it and was even using the VO’s terms to address every issue. He sold me well and also left the Change for the Visa officer to keep. I can’t thank you enough.., even after I submitted my visa application he took me to a church where I was given 4 days dry fasting and prayers (something I have never done in my life). I’m not the churchious type but this journey brought me closer to God and will forever remain grateful. I will be traveling to lagos next week to submit my passport and at the same time celebrate this wonderful journey that ended well. Seriously my sleep tonight will be very special after one year of dreaming of CANADA Lol, and to @justwise thanks for making this platform possible.

Below are the list of documents I submitted with my application:

Even though I know my application is a little bit tight, I still handed it over to God because I have seen better applications refused, or the acceptance quota being reached as rumored on the forum,I said to God that they will bang the door when it’s my time to enter, I prayed against errors which can come from the VO leading to common refusals, lol, I prayed against bad mood on the head of the VO handling my application. Prayer is the Key.

I wish all TRV hopefuls SUCCESS!!!

Hello guys, I'm in a state of dismay. My application got Refused and My school resumes by Sept this year.

Documents submitted:

All CIC forms
Admission letter
SOP
School transcript
Passport data page
Sponsor’s letter (My sponsor is my Dad, 7m bal)
Sponsors CAC document
Sponsors letter of sponsorship
Parent’s landed document and survey plan (Lagos)

Reason for Refusal:

Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.

Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.

Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada

My undergraduate course was Information Technology (studied in Ghana) and I'm currently serving.

My proposed course of study is Project Management (Post Degree Diploma) at UNIVERSITY OF WINNIPEG

I was introduced to the forum after my application and since then I've been scared of a refusal, well here is it. Is there anything left behind? What didn’t I do right? Please, I need suggestions guys.

All gurus I honestly crave your indulgence. should I reapply by tackling the above reasons or I request for a GCMS note while I defer my admission?

Thank you

I used an agent for my application. I didn’t give him any bank statement, infact he didn’t even request for it. He only asked me to get my personal documents and leave the rest of the work for him. I don’t know what to do..
Should I tell CIC I wasn’t the one?

Sorry for the delay. First and foremost, I will advise you order your gcms note and defer your admission. Secondly, I feel there's no clear relationship between your bachelor's degree and intended PGD(except if have a very good and convincing reason for it). Try to get a master's admission in related field but if you can't then go for PGD course that's related to your Bsc then try to explain why you are going for PGD and not master's (there are so many reasons for that, shouldn't have to be because of low bsc grades ).
NB: while trying to fix all these , make sure you order for your gcms note as you won't regret doing it.

This is really sad..I just feel you should explain everything to them and then whatever decision they take, you just have to live with it. I initially wanted to use an agent who told me that he would borrow someone’s Statement of account as a sponsor. I opened my mouth in disbelief. That made me do away with him. That’s fraud and you should get his ass arrested. He just put you in a really big mess. Remember that ignorance is not an excuse. It’s your application and you’re equally liable should anything go wrong.

There’s a strong correlation between his undergrad (IT) and the course he is applying for. He just needs to articulate it in his SOP. IT Project Management is a big thing - the question is whether or not he explained how that would help him when he returns to Nigeria or what he plans to do on his return. I packaged my cousin’s application (I’m his sponsor) same undergrad course, same course at Winnipeg and he just got his passport request. Also, as someone else said here, all the reasons for denial point to finance. Let’s not be quick to jump to conclusions.

I get where you are coming from. Project management is very very broad and he needs to explain that to the vo and how it relates to IT(most vos don't really know these things and when talking to them you have to break it down like you are talking to a novice). Also, I suggested while he is waiting for his gcms note he should work on how to convince the vo(in his sop) or go with the other options. His gcms note will give us more info about his refusal, but before then let him work on his SOP and other aspect of his app.
NB: About what the other guy said, we all know that message is just a generic one. Only the gcms note will say what the reason for denial is. Let's wait for it
