The problem with these stories is, you never see someone online saying "I was working 20 hours per week & making X amount". What you hear is , a friend of mine bla bla bla. This isn't the first time people are coming up with stories please.

Lol. Na you know. I don't owe you diddly squat so at the end of the day, take it or leave it. Just stop the fear mongering biko.

Uncle what are you saying? Did you read what I wrote at all? I said he earns €16/hr, and so even if he works 20 hrs/week he can save up to 1k depending on what his expenses look like.

Also, KVR won't come knocking on your door if you earn more than 9k so calm down abeg. What may happen is that you may be asked to pay back the extra money the next year by the Finanzamt and NOT the KVR.

And I've even heard that this can be defended if you can prove that you were in a werkstudent position and not doing menial jobs. So calm down with the "he must be collecting the money by hand" story.

Bro, do u mind shedding a little light on the emboldened?

What are KVR and Finanzamt?
Why did you use 9k as a benchmark
Why would one be asked to pay back the extra money if s/he earns more than 9k?

Maybe Pfarrkirchen cause of its close proximity to Munich, where the possibility of finding jobs is way higher than in other smaller cities.

When I worked at Primark, a lot of the students there came from Pfarrkichen.

No worries! smiley

Well as students you're not supposed to earn more than 9k or 9,5k per year, I guess it's because of all of the benefits you get a student but I'm not too sure. Usually at the beginning of next year, you can/should declare your income to the tax office (Finanzamt). They normally pay you back the taxes you paid the previous working year as a student.

But if you end up working more than 9k and THEN filling your taxes, then they may tell you to pay the difference since you earned more than what you're allowed to. But like I said in my previous post, you may be able to get away with it if you can prove that you spent that year doing internships or werkstudent positions.

The safest way to avoid their wahala is to not file for taxes if you're sure you've earned more than 9k or exceeded your allowed working days for a years (120 full day and 240 half days).

KVR is the office that deals with all things relating to your stay in Germany. So that includes things like Address Registration, Resident Permit, Work Permit and the likes.

Hope I answered all your questions.

P.S: I'm a sisi oh. Lol

It's not fear mongering, I don't people spreading fake news/fake hopes. On this same thread, people claiming they can save 10k Euros per year which is very Impossible. Too many fake facts spreading. After semesters people have the time to work as long as they want, I know about that & 16Euros per hour is high & probably on a very high skilled work.

You can also be earning money via your Dorm account & the government cannot know about it as long as the organization agrees to transfer to it, I'm asking because people do things secretly without saying the true picture.

That's why I said it's UNCOMMON but not IMPOSSIBLE.
So it's exception but not the rule and I know I stressed that out many many times.

Yes, it's a highly skilled Werkstudent position at Panasonic, but then again his knowledge of German is at the B1/B2 level.

Exactly so why plan your future based on an Exception?, you are suppose to go with worse possible case.
So when things go bad, you have shock absorber already because you had a Plan B.

Some people get great Jobs without learning German at all, I know them personally. But that is an exception, so why would I plan my future based on those & not Learn German to set myself in a good place incase things go wrong.

Well, you might call it Paranoid, but life can never surprise you this way.

They say a good man learns from his mistakes but a wise man learns from the mistakes of others. I wanted to apply for winter 2019 but after reading this thread and the student visa thread thoroughly I understood that if you want to succeed in DE, you have to plan thoroughly. So now I've pushed back my application to summer 2020 so I can write at least A2 here in Naija. It seems so far away but I know it'll surely be worth it.
My advice to my fellow aspirants: Patience is a virtue and knowledge is power.

Pls where and how can we write this exams from Nigeria A1 or A2

Building construction and architecture is a very lucrative specialty here, the only clause is that you take your german language serious if you want job offers to be chasing you.

All my guys in this field are working now though their german language isn't that great but at least they can communicate (B1 level).

So pursue it!
sir how about banking and finance

I don't school there so I really don't know how much they charge. Go to the Germany student visa thread and ask. Someone will definitely give you an answer.
