Hello house, i finally got my passport request Mail today. Meanwhile, i would like to inquire if there's gonna be any charges incurred when submitting passport 4visa in Abuja. Thanks
Congrats dear, if it's the same place you did your biometrics, then there won't be any charges, just go with the ppr letter. All the best.

I had a TRV (visit) before I applied for studies and @omonoba1981 had the same experience.
Did you applied for the study permit within Canada or outside?

Hello .pls I sent u a message..pls I would like to find out how and what docs u submitted while applying for the swop for ur wife from inside Canada...thank you
Jephehe:
A friend of my here in Canada invited his Mom for his graduation ceremony, The mum was in Uk for a short visit because of that she did her biometric in Uk, Visa was approved and passport request, submitted and Stamped in Uk.

If you are in Canada on Visitor Status and you have applied for Study Permit if passport request showed while in Canada you can submit it in Canada.

Another option is when the Visa is Approved you can pick the study permit up in the Land borders.

My wife has change from visitor to Open work permit in Canada land border, I changed my study permit to PGWP in the land border without SOP much documents to convince the Land Border Officers.

Na my case i dey talk oh.

Hello everyone
Some weeks ago i got an update on my application of over a year but i had issues linking my application, and trying to login was fruitless as i couldn't remember my password

I mailed CIC and thanks to God they replied me today with the update i got saying it was a medical request and they attached the medical form to my mail

Please how do i go about booking an appointment and getting my medicals done asap. I have just 2 weeks left. I'm in Lagos. Thank you for your prompt response

Did you applied for the study permit within Canada or outside?

Outside Canada.

But if you have a valid TRV (visit or tourist) and you are reapplying with a valid medical result made in Nigeria and Biometrics valid for 10years and it’s an online application, then you have nothing to worry about.

You can apply from anywhere in the world provided you have access to your documents and even bank statements can now be downloaded and signed online by your bank.

Even background checks will be conducted and everything will be fine.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Mudicua: 8:07pm On Jun 26, 2019
Please bros...

The following bolded is on the CIC website which provides the conditions that can allow someone apply for a study visa/permit while inside of Canada.
See link below:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/apply.html

Only some people can apply for a study permit from inside Canada. Do any of the situations below describe you or the person you’re applying for? (required)
You’re currently in Canada and one of these applies:
• you have a valid study or work permit
• your spouse, common-law partner or parent has a valid study or work permit
• you’re a minor child in primary or secondary school
• you’re an exchange student or visiting student
• you completed a short-term course or study program required to be accepted at a DLI
• you or your spouse, common-law partner or dependent child has a temporary resident permit (TRP) valid for 6 months or more
• you’re being sponsored to immigrate and you already applied for permanent residence (if you’re eligible)
• you or your spouse, common-law partner or dependent child are subject to an unenforceable removal order
• you’re the spouse, common-law partner or dependent child of:
o an athlete on a team based in Canada
o a member of the media
o a member of the clergy
o military personnel on duty in Canada or
o an accredited foreign representative

Moreover if that even happens, they still have to go get their biometrics taken in a country outside of Canada (so why even bother to start).

See below from their website again:
If you’re already in Canada and need to leave the country to give biometrics
If you’re in Canada and you apply for an initial study or work permit, and you received a biometrics instruction letter from us, you may need to leave Canada to give biometrics.
Do NOT travel to the United States (U.S.) to give your biometrics. You must already be legally in the U.S. or an overseas territory of the U.S. to go to an Application Support Center.
Instead, go to a visa application centre (VAC) in any other country that you can legally enter, such as your home country, to give your biometrics.

While I agree your experience is your reality, it still does not cut it here for someone who has a valid visitor visa applying for a study permit in Canada. It will not work. The conditions are up there. Again the part of your statement italicised and bolded is not clear... someone can apply for a study permit in Nigeria and travel to Canada or any other country and receive passport request. @omonoba received hers in US and submitted in US. Same applies for your friends mom... and i believe same can apply to someone who applied outside of Canada and is in Canada when the request shows up.
That is totally different from when you are inside Canada already and now want to start an application for study permit.

Like I said earlier my 2 cents. (I do not know it all, i also stand corrected, but it is clear on the website link posted)

OK, thanks a lot. Back to Nigeria now, spent just 3 weeks there.

The application was submitted online from Nigeria.

guzenaira:

@Mudicua is very correct.

Although you can apply from Nigeria inside Canada ‘if’ you have a valid medical result done in Nigeria, Biometrics running for 10years and haven’t stayed or currently staying in Canada for Less than 6months. So everything will be fine but bear in mind that background check will be done.

I understand how you feel, the best is for you to go back to Nigeria.

OK. Thanks but You can actually apply from within Canada so long you have a TRV, I inquired about that already.

I have my biometric done already and they confirmed that immediately I put in the application.

I just wanted to know if the processing time is shorter since there is already a TRV

My case was a hectic one mehnnnn. I applied June 11, 2018 via online, did my biometrics on June 13, 2018 (in Lagos), waited 13 whole months b4 any update came up on my CIC acct.(while waiting i kept sending mails n applied for GCMS notes twice). Finally got a medical request mail on June 11, 2019.
Was able to schedule a medical appointment in Abuja and successfully carried it out June 19, 2019. On June 22, 2019 (last Saturday) my CIC account was updated to "medicals passed". And today which is 26th of June, i received my passport submission request.
That's d time line of how long my Study visa application took.

For you to come and go back, that’s a very good plus for you.

My record with them,

2015, studies - refused
2016, studies - refused
2017, visit - approved
2018, studies - approved

What did I do?

That’s the power of SOP, I made sure I submitted all they requested for and explain myself as regards what I achieved during the visit, the school I went to and the professors I spoke with. What will Nigeria gain in it and what will bu company benefit from the academic experience.

The whole application took 6weeks.
