You jumped in without looking at the context in which l looked at his goal tally. Which is only goals scored in the league competition not play offs or cup games.

In that respect Osimhen scored 11 goals in the Belguim league 2018 /19.

The winner of the Belgian league is not determined by only the regular season, the playoffs determines who finally wins the Belgian league

Super Eagles Players Unhappy With Rohr Over Team Selection And Formation

As many as five players of the senior national team of Nigeria have voiced out their unhappiness with the team selection of coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr at the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 0-2 defeat suffered against Madagascar saw them finish second in their group with coach Gernot Rohr for the third game running making as many as five changes to his starting lineup for the game.

Players of the team are not bothered by the tactics of the team but most of them feel he has not been fair to some players base‎ on how he has instructed them to play while he hasn’t given the chance to others to play, notably Victor Osimhen and Henry Onyekuru.

Rohr according to the players is too defensive in his approach and keeps on insisting that the players play close to the defence and even the attack minded players are usually asked to track back with just one striker playing upfront.

Already the players have decided that they will hold showdown talks with the coach over tactics for the knock out round game on Saturday as they want a formation that will help them express themselves on the pitch of play.

Ighalo, Balogun tear Eagles’ camp apart

 July 4, 2019

There is palpable unrest in the camp of the Super Eagles ahead of their round of 16 clash with Cameroon after two keys players clashed with Manager Gernot Rohr.

Our correspondent learnt that striker Odion Ighalo and defender Leon Balogun clashed with Rohr after the coach openly criticised them for the loss to Madagascar on their last group game.

Sources in the squad confirmed that the two players had heated altercations with the coach at their Helnan Palestine Hotel camp when he used harsh words in castigating them for the loss.

“Ighalo felt terribly bad when he heard about what the coach told the media that the team didn’t have strikers who were good enough. It infuriated him even the more when the gaffer mentioned similar thing during team’s meeting.

“Balogun too clashed with the coach, insisting the manager should not have singled him out for blames because of the mistake he made.
“I don’t think these players will play a part in the competition anymore but some officials of the Nigeria Football Federation have come in to resolve the problem, ” the source explained.

The players are aware of the situation and are also supporting their colleagues against the handler who was recently warned by the NFF to talk less.

When did Rohr say "we don't have striker good enough" to the media?

he did that for Ebuehi to aid his recovery
same for Uzoho and who else...

but I am talking of bringing in this lads abilities they're lacking to bring to the table...

you can help bring out this qualities in the team like a good F. taker, Make Iwobi grow confidence and abilities to shot and score from afar...

and also help chuks develop a good end products for his display in the long run...

and even help Etebo improve with his passing etc...

you can let this players know this politely, encourage them and also help them to outshine these weakness
you don't have a point, if a player doesn't have it there's nothing anybody can do, Iwobi worked with wenger for about 3yrs we no see the qualities you are talking about, do you know in a normal non-tournament year, the total number of matches an African team will play may not even be up to 5? so what improvement do you want the coach to give? if your club no fit help you no be for national team you go get am, once there's somebody that can do it better than you you go shift go one side, you can check Bryan Idowu, Iheanacho, Ogude etc as examples

Osimhen scored 12 league goals. And 7 league playoff goals. His other one goal came in a cup game. Your ESPN source is wrong.

And Osimhen had 4 match winners to finish among the best decisive players in the Belgian league. Also he finished top 4 in terms of goal ratio with respect to how much % of his team's goals he was directly responsible for. Next time you wanna stylishly down play.... Ajax almost gets to champions league final

Netherlands male team finishes as Euro Nations league runner-up

Netherlands female team gets to the FIFA WC final.

Is Netherlands becoming the hub of football

What can naija learn from them?
Spot on.

I said similar thing last year when I noticed a sort of pattern in the Europeans approach to raising formidable team that can go on to dominate for 5 years at the international level.

Anytime you see these European national teams miss out in any major competition, I tell you, they are cooking something up. Their team is undergoing a sort of rebuilding process.

Look @ the French, Italians, Dutch, they've all followed similar pattern. Presently, Netherlands and Italy are pulling all strings together and I won't be surprised if come 2022 one of them stroll to the World Cup Finals. They both missed out at the previous edition but have been improving since then. They are mixing youthfulness with experience. Retiring the previous generation of super stars like Robben, Persie, Kuyt, Pirlo, Machisio, etc. The French did it with Ribery, Benzema, Valbuena, Nasri, after crashing out at the early stage in two successive world cups and guess what? They lifted the trophy.

We've missed out of 2 consecutive AFCONs I was expecting us to have raised a formidable team in our 4years of absence but what will have today is an eyesore... A team who has been together for 3 years under 1manager and still can't play a purposeful football is of no use. it's either something is wrong with the players or the coach.

I don't know when will get it right.

Unfortunately this is where Rohr fails the most. The man gets his tactics wrong. With wrong tactics even the best team will falter. Conversely with a good tactical set up even the worse team can post good results.

I am complete loss to make any rational of your comments and the use of the term EVOLVED.

But let me indulge you, first of all the term EVOLVED is intrinsic to PROGRESSION not REGRESSION.

But it's not that important the use of diction here.

Now let's look at what Brazil has evolved too in comparison to our golden age.

In 2009 we hosted the U17 football tournament we almost won it. Brazil didn't go far, however in thier team.

But let's look at where a good number of those players are now from that 2009 squad . Alison is the current Liverpool goalkeeper, arguably the best in the world. I will name 5 players from that set that are household names, Coutinho, Giovani, Casemiras, Neymar, Willen, all played for the Brazilian national team and or the best top teams in Europe.

Compare our 2009 set where have they progressed to Turkey and obscure teams or even retired or playing local football in Nigeria. That's REGRESSION there is no Evolving component here.

Fast forward and you can add to that list Gabriel, Firminho, Thiago, Felipe, Gustavo, Marcelo, Alves, Luiz, etc, etc.

There are a bunch of Brazilian teenagers that the top clubs are fighting over with crazy money, I will not mention them that would be overkill.

The correct reference is that Brazil had evolved to with even better players and Nigeria has REGRESSED COMPLETELY.

So consider what you want to say before making it public and opening yourself to ridicule.

Kayode Olanrewaju is the only one in a big club now.

Omeruo and Ramon Azeez will be playing in the La Liga next season but we can't compare their progress with that of the Brazilian players.

You really don't understand football.

U23 football and senior team football are miles apart. To bring context l can assure you the entire Libyan U23 team will struggle against Fulham U23. It's very easy to look good when the opposition is mediocre.

Even the Nigerian Uncles sorry U23 team bar a few players was not that outstanding.

IMO Osimhen is very lightweight for the kind of physically intensive high impact fast game thay Cameroon will bring.

The only two forward players that can make an impact first is Ighalo, then Onuachu although his lack of pace is a big handicap.

Osimhen could come in for the last 15 minutes so that his feet will touch Egyptian grass. Because I have my doubts if we can win this game, if we do it will be close. Cameroon will be seeking revenge from the last whipping we gave them.

Forget, Osimhen is very rugged. You should have watched him play in the Belgium Pro League

How many goals did he score in the Belguim league a total of 11. He wasn't the best on that league and he is not in the top 5. He is not the best young striker in that league, he is still a very goo top player. But keep matters in context.

Cup games against mediocre opposition give the impression that you are a lot better than you are. So I take cognisance of league games not cup games.

This was a guy that was completely dead in the Bundesliga and now in his first competitive season in football you have turned him to Drogba.

He is not physically imposing he does not have anywhere near the strength of Ighalo or Onuachu. You are over exaggerating and taking players on is not his main strength. But his finishing is good. positioning and he has a good eye for goal.

Finally you can not rely on past youthful glories to decide a player is good enough for the SE.

He was among the top 3 goalscorers.

Playoff is part of the league because it decides the champions so how does that not count? Are you now saying that a normal league is 28 games? And then if a striker has a goal ratio of one every other match how is that not good?

I am concerned with the super eagles if he was doing this prior now we would had a good free kick taker by now and also iwobi would have been more productive as an AM.

also he won't have to bench chuks against Madagascar rather he would have seen those runs, dribbling and ability to beat defenders as an asset...
we can get creative end balls from that....but he does not see all this.

Right now we have two game advantage over Cameroon.

1- we will get 6 days of rest while Cameroon have 4. obviously our players would be more fresh.

2- We are playing in Alexandria again.. Our player should have become familiar with the stadium already so that should help...

Now, why Rohr still has some apologist here is because of his man management skills but when you're not getting the required results, sooner than letter, mam management skills becomes inadequate. If this news is true, then I wonder what. Rohr has going for him
