Share your profile here so other guys can contribute to it, giving you my contact won't favour others that might have same case as you. Let's discuss everything here then when it's time to reapply you can send me your SOP (if I am chanced then) to review as well. But feel free to share your profile here let's see. Hope you understand?
I will share when the strength cones. But thanks for contributions

I can only say thank you. Let me see if I can get strength to type and share my profile because am just down and confused.

Don't be discouraged, keep pushing. The joy of your approval in future will make you forget the disappointment of the past.

Cheer up, dust yourself and fire again.

You are one step closer.

Please get your passport before you leave Nigeria as it is stipulated that you can only renew 6months to export of your passport. Get a new passport, and travel with it, Infact from Nigeria, start tendering the new passport and make sure all stamps are stamped in the new passport. Or else, your study permit won't be beyond your passport expiry. My candid advice, apply for the new 10years passport so that before it expires, you should have a Canadian passport. Peace (in Makano voice)

Thanks for the response.
I applied via paper route so most likely my stamp would be on my current passport.
Is there a way to get the stamp on the new passport.

I guess it’s phd in eng. you are going for. In previous post, I saw that you had bsc and masters in petroleum engineering but your PhD is in environmental eng...I think that might be the reason for refusal. Perhaps the VO didn’t see the connection between the two courses or the explanation you gave was insufficient. I think those two are really different and since you were previously rejected on that ground, I think you should try getting admission in your field-phd in petroleum engineering.

It depends on you. If you are traveling this fall then you can apply for a new passport before traveling. Also if you decide not to get a new passport in Nigeria, don't worry as it is easy to get in Canada as well as your study permit extension. So the choice is yours, do whichever you feel comfortable with

Your profile is very okay, but like I said before you applied (I just remembered) your intended course (civil/environmental) and previous course (petroleum) are not directly related, so you have to really work on your SOP to show the vo how they are both related. I know there's a link between both but like I said most of these VOs don't have idea about all these so it is your duty to explain to them in detail(like a you are talking to a layman). I bet you with a good SOP you will scale through. I don't think you need to change any other thing on your profile, just work on your SOP and explain how related both courses are.
Another option (easiest) will be getting a PhD admission on petroleum engineering.
NB: If you decide to go with the first option, work on your SOP and send to me and other guys let's see how we can try to put one or two together to assist. Good luck

Hello 95seun. I appreciate all your assistance irrespective of your busy schedule.
I am glad you are interested in his case. It will gladden my heart if you can hold his hand, walk him through this phase. Merci
95seun:

Honestly I don’t know why I’m interested in your case. But if you broaden your horizon outside of NL, you’ll know judicial review are mainly lost, based on the sole fact that it’s purely to determine if the VO followed procedural standards when coming to a decision.
And you contacted an immigration lawyer, did you verify their licence ? And frankly speaking what did you expect the lawyer to say ? ‘You don’t have a case, keep your money’
If the lawyer is experienced and in good standing, you can negotiate a 70$/hr fee, keep the lawyer on retainer to review your SOP and supporting docs, people on NL can help you with the rest of your application. You would probably get charged for 5-10 hours depending on how well the initial consultation goes.
Alternatively, go on the IRCC site to get a list of approved agents, there a lots of Nigerian ones, do the same as above but they’re cheaper $25-$40/hr.
Main reason I’m trying to steer you away from JR is the process of reapplication is faster, you spend less and if it’s still unsuccessful it makes more sense to spend the initial ~350$ and be sure about the quality of your application going into JR review, than spending $4k for a decision you’re not sure of, and something that could possibly be solved by just spending $350.

You mentioned your SOP getting reviewed by NL’ers .. I’ve had an SOP reviewed here, sought out about 10, was able to get help from 4. All 4 had vastly different comments, 1 was really hands on providing constructive criticisms, amending / rewriting paragraphs etc. Point of me saying that is to stress that only you can truly review your SOP, the best anyone would give you is advice gained from experience and most times it’s just structural nothing to vastly change your SOP, the onus is on you to pick and choose which advice best suits your situation. Even after getting help from NL, I reviewed my SOP with a CIC certified agent from the international centre in my school, and my final SOP after the adjustment was vastly different from my post NL review SOP. So man .. idk what else to say

Whatever you are going to study doesn't matter if you can follow rules below
✅Have financial Resources in your home country
✅Have solid home ties
✅Have a good Letter of Explanation (Very important).
LOE is one of the most important document among other documents. Your LOE must be convincing to the extent that devil himself will know that you carry special anointing.
30millions naira in your personal account as POF may not save you if your LOE is poor.(VO's gcms note word: Vague).
Sally in Part 15 wrote something interesting about a good LOE. She talked about how she wrote her LOE, wow that was the best LOE pattern i will recommend for SP newbies.
If you have a good LOE and all the CIC needed documents and they still refuse ur SP? Bro go beg your Village people and go baff
If your application is refused based on Travel history! Please seek JR because there is no law in IRPA that says application should be refused based on travel history

Personally I think you can go for something related to previous study or a strong SOP to link current job experience to this course. The VO may not see career progression here.

I hope this will help.

Based on what is stated on the site, you're right, but based on practical facts, countless numbers of applicants have successfully without any restraint of somewhat have sent additional documents prior after submission via email or webform. It was always acknowleded by the VAC.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Mudicua: 11:49am On Jul 13, 2019
Exactly.
This was my experience. I updated my application with new information, such as death certificate of my father and mom's decalration of age.

I think you can always update with new info which you did not submit before as well as update old info previously submitted.

I requested GCMS notes after my application was taking too long, and when it came and I did not really find much info, but i followed Austacus advice, and I did another LOE based on the first GCMS note and the new one, and tried to explain as much as i could, and i sent it via webform and email.

It was acknowledged, and even acted on.
Soon I will share my experience here.
