So it even originated from Chicago? You see there is nothing original about south Africa. Even their so called house music was imported.
They are always trying to beat foreigners at their own music.
And that is not what the world is looking for.

That is why an average artist in Nigeria singing local afro beat will win MAMA, Channel O and BET awards with over 60 million views on YouTube in 3 months, while his south African counterpart rapping like 50cent is busy wondering why.

The only African artists that featured on the Black Panther soundtrack were South Africans and yet South Africans were cool about. The minute something happens to Nigerians they start throwing shade at everyone. It's very very childish

IKR! Even the Wakanda challenge that became a worldwide craze, people used South African songs but we didn't beat our chests like Congolese gorillas!

Omotola has featured on a US movie.
Even Stephen Nora has featured in a US movie.

Who the fucckk is this guy?
What's that movie? gringrin Dude they regularly take South Africans to potray other Africans in movies that's how good our actors are. Answer me, why do our movies get screenings in the best movie festivals like Cannes or Berlin movie festivals? That's cause the quality is good. No one wants to watch a glorified home video shot with a cam-coder coder with poor acting and sound

When Nigerian musicians go on tour in Europe, america or Africa, there is no comparable.
They shut it down.

Nasty C and Casper can never shut down the 02 arena in London.
WizKids and davido did it with ease.

Yemi alade recently went on tour in France. You need to see the love.

Nigerian music is global, mehn.

See talk.... You stated it herself that she needed the album to be authentic, that was why she drew the best artistes and producers in Africa. So what's all these rants about. She, herself knows who is the best and that was why she chose them. FYI, she made it clear that afro beat represented Africa and not afro house. The album is her love letter to Africa.

She knows we best dear...

I'm not mad at her choices. In fact, I don't care. We had our long moment in the spotlight during Black Panther. Now it's time for others to shine.

Miles ahead in what way?
Is it infrastructure, economy, or what?
How can they be miles ahead of a country with 25% of Africa's productivity.?

Aside from Nairobi which is not better than Lagos, let alone Abuja, what else is in Kenya?

Ordinary Kenya.

Bullshitt.
They don't have better infrastructure than Nigeria, sorry.

Standard of living is relative. Things are cheaper in Nigeria than most parts of Africa.

Though of course life can be a bit more peaceful in Kenya.
But it is.not necessarily because Kenya is better.
It is just that there is some level of chaos when you have 200 million people.

Have you been to India? Is Kenya better than India even though it is more peaceful and calm?

That's exactly why other Africans look at Nigerians like over-pompous freaks. You have no business calling other countries " ordinary" Nigeria is not all that

The genesis of this exchange was about which music is popular in South Africa. You said the craze is "Afrobeat" & I told you that no, it's house music. Now don't shift the goal posts. South Africa didn't invent house music, but as it stands today, it is a force to be reckoned with as far as house music goes. We're up there with the best of them. It's about taking something, adding personal touches to it & making it your own. South Africa has a distinct sound that is easily told apart from other house genres. This is well-known by house enthusiasts.

You mean Nigeria as popular as it is needs south Africa to be its gateway?
lol. Is that what they tell you in south Africa.

American celeb come to Nigeria often for shows and stuff.
Toni braxton is currently in the country.

American celebs visit Ghana, Kenya Tanzania and as well as other countries especially for wildlife.
So what exactly is so special about it?

And you say Nigerians are pompous.
