modern afrobeat started with Nigeria. the old ones are dead.

So why were you making a big deal about house music when even your signature music is an adaptation?

English is clearly your secondary language.Like i have stated over and over again on this thread,no one in Nigeria or togo or mali regularly plays the music of black coffee or a korean band. They are virtually unknown entities. No one in Africa dances or sings to south african house music. Those artistes are local champions.Afrobeat is the king and queen in terms of music genre at this very moment in Africa. It is absolutely dominant.Admitting this fact will not lead to your death xhosa

Comprehension is clearly not your strongest point either. Who cares if you people don't know our music when it gets the recognition it deserves all over the world except of course for Togo & other insignificant countries?

This group are chart toppers globally & they know what South African house is. Let Togo dance to your tunes while we continue to make the universe dance grin Listen to that drum beat at the beginning of the song & they tied the whole thing up nicely with gwara gwara cheesy

Now you're just playing spin doctor. It says it right there that Nigeria picked it up in the 60s. Adding or removing an "S" doesn't make it a different thing, just a revamp.

Nah see the little recognition you recieve outside Africa is cause you are infastructurlly superior in Africa. nothing more. Afro beat reps Africa like it or not. you need to see the number of south Africans swooping on any Nigerian song on YouTube. see you can't hide truth. it's there. Beyonce is not a goddess but her worth in music is bigger than all your artists combined. so her say matters a lot

Twak! What does infrastructure have to do with the sound of music?

Speaking of people swooping in on another's song, check where the majority of comments come from for this particular SOUTH AFRICAN HOUSE SONG grin
Yet you claim you don't listen to our songs. Chai una well done, you sabi lie cheesy

Afrobeats is most identifiable by its signature driving drum beat rhythms, whether electronic or instrumental. These beats harken to the stylings of a variety of traditional African drumbeats across West Africa as well as the precursory genre of Afrobeat. Another distinction within Afrobeats is the notably west African, specifically Nigerian or Ghanaian, accented English [10] that is often blended with local slangs, pidgin English, as well as local Nigerian or Ghanaian languages depending on the backgrounds of the performers.
DJs and producers like DJ Black, Elom Adablah, and C-Real (Cyril-Alex Gockel) for example, have been a crucial part in spreading the popularity of this form of music. ok
has been suggested that this article be split into a new article titled Afrobeats . ( Discuss)
(April 2019)
The term was coined in the 1960s by Nigerian
multi-instrumentalist and bandleader Fela Kuti , who is responsible for pioneering and popularizing the style both within and outside
Nigeria .
Distinct from Afrobeat is Afrobeats - a sound originating in Nigeria in the 21st century, one which takes in diverse influences and is an eclectic combination of rap , dancehall , and even
R&B .

Is it infrastructure, economy, or what?
How can they be miles ahead of a country with 25% of Africa's productivity.?

Ordinary Kenya.

Kenya is ranked ahead of Nigeria in most basic development indices currently, this is a bitter pill for you to swallow.

Many countries are ranked ahead of Nigeria in HDI same as India.

Overpopulation plays a role here. A country with a $10 billion economy but with 15 million should have a higher HDI than a $100billion economy that has 130 million people.
It is simple. It doesn't mean Kenya is better.

We are both developing countries, with Nigeria having by far the bigger economy.
And when you factor in corruption and overpopulation, it is not surprising that Kenya has a higher HDI than Nigeria.

Many countries in west Africa have a higher hdi than Nigeria, yet Nigeria account for 70% of the economy in the subregion.
