Hello @hotstepper i am new here i want to go have my baby in Canada i have a friendwho stays there but I plan on staying alone pls what kind of visa can I apply for? I have a valid us visa and I want to apply before it expires to boost my chances. Should I go for the medical visa and state my reason or go for the visiting visa. Hope to hear from you thanks

Why should it be difficult? abi she came as a refugee? If she came with PR, she just needs to write an IV stating she is inviting you to Canada and attach a copy of her PR card

I'm beginning to sense a lot of desperation and this always equals negative outcomes in the long run. The poster who is adamant that declaring childbirth on your application equals automatic denial these days, I find your stance somewhat worrisome. That you have been privy to some people being denied visa approvals or sent back at Canada POE on account of declaring their true intentions ad childbirth doesn't make it a standard that holds true in all cases. I applied for a TRV and boldly declared childbirth as my major purpose for travelling and was given. POE received the same story from me when I got in. Hubby and kids came in a month later and same childbirth story was what he told them at POE. While it's true that Canada is receiving a lot more applications for birth tourism these days brought on by the situation in the US embassy, honesty is still the best policy. This is what was preached on the US giving birth thread and birthed many successes in visa applications and even though recent events on that side seem to suggest otherwise, we can all agree that the tougher stance that they have adopted on immigration issues are more a function of the administration in power's policy than a rise in the increase of medical visas malpractices from Nigerians. I suggest that we do not feed into people's desperation and begin to promote dishonest submissions either subtly or outrightly. Rather let's encourage people to be honest and put in more efforts into proving their cases and applications. The major key to getting a TRV for whatever reason still remains the ability to show strong ties to your home country and the strength of your finances. More than ever before, we need to begin to change the narrative about us Nigerians and 'how they see us' yes it does start with you and I. [sub][/sub]

I think I agree with @ Hotstepper on this one, I used the same hospital and I definitely paid higher than what you shared above. I was also told by the hospital about the OHIP thing which I respectfully declined..instead I had to pay extra 450 USD When I took my baby back to the hospital for checkup. I also paid for postpartum visits and I have all my receipts.

Yes, the nurses might have done that for you but it is left for you to say Yes or No as this is the reason alot of people are being denied US visa now even though it is not their fault as they did not even know discount will be a problem.nd that these hospitals will go bk to take get their money bk from the govt.

I need you to know that this has absolutely nothing to do with you.Im Hotstepper mentioned it for future reference cos of mamas that read comments not to accept anything from kind Canadians and also for your visa renewal purposes..cis like she said these nurses are being paid by the government which is very true even though they tell you otherwise...For mamas that know,This is also similar to what is being done in the US and that’s why they don’t want us in their country anymore.

I had my baby a while back and had m sure we used the same doctor (cos it’s the same amount), however some other fees are different.( maybe it’s been reduce, who knows�‍♀️)

Please did you apply alone or with your spouse and kids. Cos I'm having difficulty in uploading one of the forms for my spouse due to data mismatch.

You are the actual reason for my deleted post. Am glad you have the screenshots. I hope you have also of when you came at me for reasons best known to you. We are to help each other here not tear each other down. I willingly came back to the thread to share my experience last year but you came at me like you know me from somewhere. My post for advise on this occasion was for the house. It’s okay to give one if you wish and it’s okay not to, either ways, we will all be alright. Just watch your tone as you’re not talking to kids here.
PS: Am more than willing to share advise to whoever desires. Am not hoarding information like you and justwise seem to think. Anyways that’s it.

What I expect from you first is to ask why those posts were deleted. Just so you know, this is one of the few occasions am asking here on this thread for advise. My previous contributions have been advise and my POE experience from the past and I deleted my posts because people came at me for reasons best known to them. How would I be encouraged to leave my post when am being accused. If it helps the accusers to sleep better at night, I mean it’s not that serious. Am not going to divulge further. Please don’t disappoint and make sure you use your veto power to delete this too as usual. Am sure you get the gist.

I put it to you that you are only here for yourself on this, and not for other people please. You and your likes are the ones that soil the road you pass through not minding the effect it will have on those coming from behind and even for yourself on your way back, your mindset is that of “I won’t worry for now, once I get to that bridge, I will cross it”, and that is why you are here again right now. But you can see the Canada birthing route too is getting tighter now, abi? You deleted those posts because of the traceable details you put out in the open before. I at least know the hospital you used and the doctor sef (not like there’s anything I was going to do with those details though, do note that we used them a couple of years ago), unless you had a change of plan after you deleted those posts.

I will not tolerate you talking to me anyhow. I don’t know who you think you are, honestly. Am glad you claim to know my hospital and doctor. At least you can ask them whether my bills were paid or not to answer your last years post(since you’re so concerned). I know better now, hence why I came here to ask for steps forward concerning visa application. Ultimately this forum can serve as an advice but it’s up to anyone to carry out what they think is best for them at any given time. FYI Canada will give whomever they choose to visa based on each persons application. We all learn and I honestly don’t know what you’re problem is. Saying “you and your likes”. What are your own likes if I may ask? Let me guess honest and upright citizen of Nigeria. If I didn’t pay all my bills, why will I be willing to take the medical route?
