Hello,

I am about starting the application as you suggested. Is it 2019-2020 fall?
No, this one is for this September (which is late). The portal for next fall is not yet open but you can check the school's website to know when the portal for next fall will be opened. it should be Fall 2020-2021

Bro some of thoes fanshawe agents are saying i should waste my money applying there that my chance of getting a visa is very low because i don't have a traveling history

There are people without travel history that have gotten Visa's from Nigeria.

Maybe, Just maybe these agents get better commission rates with Humber college.

P.s not all schools use agents International admissions. I only know of Fanshawe College.

Visa processing should be done by you and you alone

All the best bro.

Hi Everyone,

I want to start by sincerely apologizing for going MIA since I got here. Life happened so fast and it didn't help that I didn't have a laptop. I have only just started settling down after all the hassle.

Landing gist...
It was pretty straightforward and didn't take time. The only question I remember the border official asking me was which school I was going to and what program. Then, of course, I was asked to show my correspondence letter and CAQ.

Canada...
I am currently attending McGill University so I'm quite comfortable speaking about Montreal.
1. French everywhere! I was so surprised - even my youtube ads changed to french! Better to start learning french to optimize your experience but if you don't speak French, it's still fine because most people are bilingual.
2. Beautiful city... people say its the best city to jaiye in Canada because things are always happening! I think last week was about Real Madrid (they are in Canada for a tour), then the week before that was jazz festival week... Needless to say, its a really fun city!

Myths people have about Canada
1. People tend to believe that once they leave Naija, they'll begin to live their best lives... It's not really true - especially if you don't have money. Since I got here, I've actually battled depression because my school work is so tedious, i don't even think I'll be able to work part-time to cover my living expenses. If you are doing a one-year program, it's possible that your schedule would be as rigorous because for most masters in Canada, its usually two years so you can imagine the "rushing" they do for one-year programs. So with no time to work, and with steady expenses, you can imagine the stress I've been going through just merely thinking about my situation. Here's my advice to those planning to come to Canada, if you cannot afford living expenses and you plan to work part-time to cover your living costs, please do a two-year program. That way, you'll have more time to spare to work and it'll be reasonable for you to work and still have enough time to commit to your academics.
2. Taxes here in Montreal are a freaking 15%! I bought my laptop and paid taxes of $114! Needless to say, buy your laptop before coming.

Things i'm grateful i did before coming here
1. I'm grateful I packed garri, indomie, etc because when you come here, expenses and bills would hit you like a hurricane - especially in the first few weeks where you have to start paying for a phone plan, rent, bus pass, feeding, etc. Im grateful for the many things i didn't have to buy because i already brought them from Nigeria - I even carried toothpaste, cream, perfume, etc. Once you come here, you'll have a lot of expenses to make that you'd be super grateful if you already have some little things sorted out.

I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has for me. smiley

Hello my people, I seriously need your help the guru in the house. I got my refusal mail on 9th of july 2019. I applied for Bsc Health programme at university of Regina. But intend to reapply for a masters programme in Agric my major undergraduate focused area.

However I'm yet to receive a mail to go pick up my passport at vfs in lagos since I got my rejection mail because I applied through paper route. Please I need the gurus advice on how I can get back my international passport and how I can also repackage my application. I will appreciate all gurus contributions on my case.

Bellow is the my refusal mail. I look forward to your prompt reply. Thank you all.!

After careful review of your student permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.

I am very sad right now.

I was looking through the application procedure for MUN. I discovered that MUN requires recommendation to be submitted via email and using an institution email address.

My issue is that most of my lecturers are not techy and they are not good with using emails and d rest. They find it stressful.

Secondly, my school's lecturers don't have institution emails. They have yahoomail and gmail. I am confused as to how i can make my application successful.

send the graduate admissions an email and explain this to them. Then ask them if you can get physical letters with your school's letterhead, stamped & signed, to scan & upload as replacement instead.

cheers.

Hello everyone, am still in the early process of getting an admission in a university located in Canada, but I met a few stumbling blocks

Please, is there a list of UNIVERSITIES that waive off the regular admission fees of around $100?

Since it's non-refundable and one could still get rejected, I think the best approach is trying out a University that waives the fee.

I would be glad if anyone helps out with this, the two I came across online still asked me to pay $100 at the last page of my undergraduate application.

Thanks

Most top Canadian Universities require an application fee. That way they know you're actually committed and serious about the application. You could check these ones. N/B: Might be private and lowly ranked
- Royal Roads University - Mount Allison University Read - Fairleigh Dickinson University - Quest University -Booth University College - Redeemer University
