Lizz58:The transcript is quite complex .. You have a strong chance of convincing the VO if your work experience is related to what you're pursuing. Since 2016 ..it is 3 yrs. Be very careful how you present your decision to pursue a Masters degree in history. Because most I see in your response is talking about Law. That can confuse the VO or send a wrong signal. When the VO asks what the degree would do for you, they are trying to gauge the ROI ( return on investment) of the degree and weigh it with your COA(cost of attendance). So put this into consideration and reword your responses. Talk more about the prospects a masters degree in history holds for you back here in terms of opportunities creation and employability. la mia opinione |

If you need help in the visa interview, These are the following I can render 1. Don't base your own interview on other past experience, by craming their answers as different interviewer, different question. My advice is have a broad knowledge of their question, but don't copy answers 2. Take charge of the interview, don't leave salient points for later. Put out your positives like type of scholarship you have, friends that introduce you there. Interviewers dislike you saying the school you are going to offers this course well, and the student to teacher ratio talk. You can say you chose the school because of your friend that is there and the positive remark of the school he told you about that is if you don't have a scholarship at all, or you can say the tution is cheapest amongst the school you applied to and still offers quality education at the same time. 4. Slow down your interview, don't rush your answers. If he is rushing, you can tell him to give you a second and definitely he will do. That is if he notices you are not fidgeting. 5. Interact with people at the interview center at this reduces tension, clear it out immediately, keep speaking to your self when you are tensed especially when you are close to your interviewer, think of something that will take your mind away, Mine was just telling myself peace be still and it worked like magic. 6. Confidence confidence, confidence. Be bold. Immediately the interviewer asks you a question like twice, and you can see it in his/her face that you are messing up, change your answer immediately, as that could be your second and last chance to put things aright. If you correct or answer well, they move immediately to next question. Finally, Put God first. Talking from second visa interview experience, which I got the visa. 3. |

Lizz58:Thank you so much for the mention. Sadly, I am STEM inclined and I can't be of great help to you. I care about you enough to draw your attention to this: You didn't "teached" government, you taught Government. I really wish I could do more for you my friend. I wish you the very best. May the force be with you! |

You could have said although am not bothered by not getting a scholarship since I actually delayed in my application to the school, my dad is finally capable to sponsor my education, so there is no issue as regards funding, He might then ask for your bank statement. spaccleinc: |

The current available date in Lagos us consulate is August 29, is it advisable to reapply as i was denied earlier today and how can I get it to reschedule; the first time I applied I wasn't given the option of the calendar untill I pulled a call through to the embassy and i was asked to login in again and the calendar showed and I was allowed to pick the earliest available date of which I had already used the expedited appointment which was denied. And how does expedited appointment work, does it require extra payment? |

Sosao:You should realize that the US government takes every information you provide seriously. If you are honest, you have no reason to be concerned with routine confirmation of information you have provided in your visa application |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by TWoods(m): 5:46am On Jul 24, 2019 |
Novellex:Your best bet is to call the embassy again and explain your situation |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by TWoods(m): 5:51am On Jul 24, 2019 |
Smile4mee01:You can file form I-539 to change your status. However, while this is technically legal, the US state department released a memo in 2017 targeting this very issue. Your application may be denied if you applied within 60 days of entering the US on a B2 visa. Even if it gets approved, you will likely have problems renewing the visa as it would be viewed as misrepresentation of your intent for applying for the B2 visa. Long and short, apply for an F1 visa from here to avoid stories that touch the heart. |

Novellex:You can be lucky for the date to change to an earlier one if you login again or be unlucky and it is a farther one, what I did was chose the one I saw, case I heard it the slot could be filled up, I think they give refusals one month later to apply again, Just pick that date, prepare vigorously as you have time to know reason for your previous rejections, then work on it.They feel your status might not change under a week, so they give a longer date. |
