While I support citizens' rights to peaceful assembly, I do not entirely agree with the listed demands.

While they're vague at best, the articulators are clearly socialists.

I don't believe in socialism.

Lying through your teeth has always been what you igbos do best.

If Sowore had found a cure for cancer now, you will still be the first to say he's not Yoruba, what exactly is you igbo's problem?

Sowore said he's not Yoruba and you know it, so why do you keep shouting Yoruba? Don't tell me you are seeing Yoruba in your dreams again.

This is not Yoruba revolution but Nigerian. Adeyinka Grandson is the one doing Yoruba's revolution and it's about leaving Nigeria or atleast go back to regional govt.

We omly support Sowore because we need anything to tilt Nigeria toward the cliff.

If after waiting for hours to get on the bus going to Ibadan, you would want to get on Abeokuta bus with the hope of finding Ibadan bus there. This is why I support Sowore not that he's doing anything for Yoruba. All the demands he listed won't help Yoruba in anyway, we want out of Nigeria or a return to regional govt.
chiagozien:
Yoruba revolution, let see how it goes,

NO be yoruba people again.

If you are an Igbo man dont join them in their so called revolution,

remember 1966 coup how they tag it igbo coup.if something bad happen on the process these same yorubas will tag it igbo revolution.

Also Remember that to the northerns and most yorubas, the only people against this government is Igbo.
Go to sahara reporter facebook page and read yoruba muslims comments then you will understand what am
saying.

Some of them have
already start denying sowore even when nothing have happen, telling you that he is ijaw man from ondo.

When we keep saying that igbos are the same as Fulani, they want the same thing, other people's land and one Nigeria. Anyone who hate the way things are going in Nigeria will be supporting Sowore and hoping it leads us to what we really want, regional govt or secession. But because igbos want the same thing as Fulani but pretending to hate them in order to shift all the blame to the Fulani.

Honestly, the organisers of this movement or rally just lost the plot with the massive demands.

Some of the demands are beyond government.

Even though I agree that we need a revolution in Nigeria, my study of these demands give me the feeling that this movement is handled by charlatans and unstrategic persons.
nna some folks are still thinking the line of Marxism in a globalized world...cancel tuition in public schools...universities when schools need money...fabricate a new constitution is at the door post of nass and state assemblies...moreover we don't need any more conference to chat a course....a new one

And also, no politician should run for more than 2 terms either as president, governor , senator or house of reps.
even in America there are senators who have stayed for years..john McCain was in us senate from 1982 till death... in some state in United States legislators have term limits some like Washington has no term...national assembly of US has no term limits..

maybe Nigeria need to have a country what's each state their laws a restructured country
Re: RevolutionNow Organizer Releases List Of Demands, Vows To Go Ahead With Protest by wowcatty: 12:22am On Aug 04, 2019
This is not really about Buhari, the unitary system is the problem, Abuja breeds corruption. Even the best brains can't fix Nigeria, we need to go back to regional system of govt. I don't know why this is missing in their demands. I really hope no Yoruba dies to force Nigeria together. The demand is just not strong enough, all Nigeria needs is total devolution of power to the regions.

I'm following.

Problem with many of these so-called activists is that they usually have hidden agenda. By the time their followers discover it's usually too late.

I remember how student Union used to mobilize students against the school authority. Only to hear later that they held a closed door meeting later and case has been solved. After his graduation the DSA will be the ones to get him job. The DSA that they told us are devils.

So whether you're with PMB or #revolutionnow ensure that you proceed with caution.

*edit*
After reading through the requirements I can say that these people are unrealistic and hypocritic.

God bless your thought. so aptly.

Sowore shouldn’t have run for presidency if he truly want to fight for Revolution as an activist and not Power hungry strategist After loosing presidential election. Went to seek the supports of the aggrieved Kanu and Shiite, probably some support from Atiku to form mega protest against the government. #whyNOW that you loose an election and very unwise of him to use his Political Party logo “AAC”........ #ignoreoppositionprotest

We truly need a revolution but politicians can’t lead the protests because of there political interest. NO NO NO
There is nothing wrong with Sowore contesting that election and there is bothing wrong with him leading this protest. Contesting in that elction was already part of the protest against the useless system.

I can get behind this movement if the exception clause in the abolishment of the death penalty is removed. Making exceptions is a stupid slippery slope that then allows argument for any number of arbitrary exceptions that will take us back to where we are.

Abolish the death penalty once and for all, and I'll get behind this movement.
Everything else is a pretty reasonable ask.

I've not seen one Nigerian sympathise or hold a public concern about the alarming fall in price of crude comparing 1999 and now.

I see our brothers shamefully applauding and encouraging Crude theft and pipeline vandals for no reason but hatred..

Obasanjo ruled this country for quite a few tenure, same as Yaradua and GEJ, will it be right to say most of these self inclined social and economical activists never had a true concern about progress of this nation on check as at those past tenure?

However they paint this, it will always flag an indication to treason and disruption of peace and order which is ofcourse an international crime.

I want to believe some of these agitators and organisers has critically weighed the consequences of these unguarded actions..

When the rule of law sets in, same Nigerians will clamour over refusal of the presidency to secure a release of someone standing a trial of international crime..

My humble opinion..

Regardless of this long list of demands, this was just a bad time to start this revolutionary movement, Not when we RELATIVELY peaceful with a stable economy. Sowore picked a wrong schedule for this movement.

Let's take a look at a recent mass protest (still on going by the way) in Hong Kong against the proposed extradition bill. That protest was quick to spiral out of control from mere protest into a revolutionary movement, this is why people are still on the streets of Hong Kong even after the suspension of the proposed Bill

Another scenario is that of France, where Macron hike the price for fuel, The protest turned to a yellow vest movement that kept occuring every weekend till the hike was reverted but the people still clamouring for Macron removal

Conclusion
Sowore could have concealed his revolutionary plans till a little uprising like fuel hike or workers strike or even End Sars protest to further take advantage of the situation turning it into his proposed revolutionary movement. Revolution just don't happen when peace and economic stability is thriving. He could be charged in court for Treason or even disturbing public peace.

Did u just say peaceful? Where is the peace?

You missed out where it concerns youth the most, refusal to employed youth into government offices because all the slots belongs to the politicians, senior military officers, the rich and concubines children's. Take the case of DPR where they have refused to employ the children of the poor because they don't have big politicians at the top. Rather than employ those on merit list they are selling their slots to the highest bidders. A very big shame to DPR we thought they belong to the group who pride themselves to have the best practises. Even the foreign companies we thought had now sold their best practice to politicians for contracts. The leaders always keep the jobs for their children to finish NYSC, pass or fail the jobs are waiting for them. If this Revolution group are serious with this course they should DPR why they refused employ the youth with nobody the top. Someone says he called his constituency senator as he was advised to do, when he called he picked the call and he heard him chat away with loud laugh later came his response of who is this one disturbing me and he abort the call. Those are the people we vote for, constituency senators.

This is not too big to ask, let the people in power look into this demand and at least fulfill 80% of it, it will make Nigeria a better place. The Economy is not smiling at all. We need a change.

Try being a realist for once, how can you expect 80% , please take time .
If this government can fulfill 5%or less then there is hope for this country.

You don't have issue with Buhari? You know nothing bro. Sowere has been speaking up and bold enough for decades you can Google up. Besides I'm not doing this because of Sowere or hate for Buhari, I'm simply tired of the situation of Nigerian and a change is obviously and urgently needed.

My question is.... Aren't you tired?
Are you afraid to pay sacrifices with your life to give the future generation a better life?

How sure are you that the future will better for the next generation if you sacrifice your life now?How sure are you that those who will be in charge will create a better future should the revolution happen? These are the questions your need to ask yourself.
