Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive. Here are a few things you need to know before you pop ‘the morning after pill.’ IT IS AN EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE This means it should not be used as a regular method of contraception. IT DOESN’T PROTECT You FROM STDS This drug doesn’t protect you from sexually transmitted diseases, so it is not an alternative to condoms. DON’T TAKE BOTH PILLS AT ONCE You should take one tablet as soon as possible after unprotected sex, and take the second one exactly after 12 hours. IT HAS SIDE EFFECTS Common side effects are nausea, stomach pain and vagina bleeding. It can also disrupt your menstrual cycle. CAN’T BE USED FOR ABORTION Postinor 2 cannot be used to abort a pregnancy. |
