One question I'd like to put to you.
How do people survive and manage to stay out of law enforcement agents when they are abroad unlawfully, that is, without their papers?

Nice question.

Just make sure you abide by the laws and if you must work without p then do it wisely without forging any document.

Leaving Nigeria has been the best decision I ever made. I only wish I left earlier.
I never get papers, but I'm balling hard. Making nothing less than 4000$ every month. I work 12 hours (6 times a week )My expenses every month isn't more than 1200$. This amount isn't near what I hope to be making once my papers land. It's almost here. Definitely going back to school...

If you want to hussle in the states, you must be hardworking and willing to do overtime .Start exercising before you come, that way the job won't be hard on your muscles lol. I don't see my job as hard though. Choose the right state. Forget the big states for a start. JOBS plenty where I dey.. Question is;you get the energy to work?

Nice one. Which state u dey?

There is no “abroad”. Every country is different and even cities within countries are different. Also depends on how u enter the country - someone who entered Italy as a student is very different from someone who entered through Libya. So your question is too broad. Maybe narrow it to those who enter legally.
Why not give categorise and give answer based on each category?

The funny twist is that even after tax they make in one month what many employees in naija will make in a year.

Just that it is not easy until you have a work permit.

But are the expenses the same? No, so why use that as a comparison?

Simply say that public infrastructure is better.

Two things this thread will be full of:

1. Convert the pay off a van driver/mortician/busser/whatever to the salary of a politician in Nigeria blah blah crew.

Please, tell us how they have the same expenses or is this just a shallow comparison of figures meant to intimidate your locals onto traveling to become morticians etc? Do you have the same expenses? No . So, what are you comparing? Why not just post your submission without sounding so bitter and ridiculous? Oh well, Nigerians and baseless pride are inseparable.

2. I will become a billionaire in Nigeria crew

If so, why is only Dangote your Nigerian billionaire? Do you think he did so with pointless hubris? Why didn't your ancestors become billionaires in their homelands?
Because it's not so easy as you think. Not everyone out there is a mortician. From their weak gloating points they want to make you insecure, but why must you lie to yourselves?

Unlisted: The reasonable ones who don't have to mention either of the two points above because they are not so pained that they are morticians and not billionaires after all. Even those without permits are here fuming and acting haughty. You can smell the bitterness of the two factions, arrogance leaking with each pointless post.

But the big jobs are in healthcare and In IT. You see a lot of Nigerians in that.
I agree. Opportunities boku well well. Just makes u go crazy wondering why u didn't leave much earlier than u did.

That’s the point. He didn’t ask for that. His question is:
“What Do Nigerians Do For A Living When They Travel Abroad?”. He could have asked what u yourself did, in what city, how u entered, and how u did it

Why is it so hard for you guys t get it? What expenses are you talking about?

Don't you make expenses in naija too? Go and read my subsequent posts to understand better.

Even after expenses most people who hustle well abroad still have savings that is far more than what an average naija employee will earn in months.

I repeat, are your cost of services the same? Are your expenses the same?

Stop being upset at the question.

There's no point in calling sums that are not subject to the same use.

Some of the "you guys" have seen the both sides to the coin, so they are not noobs making assumptions.

Deep. Thanks. Your second point is one of funniest opinion I have ever heard. How many people have become billionaires in recent times?

The average black man just wants to get paid. He wants to earn money.. Nothing but getting paid.

Sadly, this is the major reason blacks are mainly not into creation but consumption. This is the bane of under development among blacks.
.

Now I see a comment from a user I can engage with.

You see people talking about “buying cars, building big mansions and marrying most beautiful girls as achievements”. So sad that way too many black folks are just damn too individualistic in their perspective as to what amounts to quality “life”. Serial consumers and null-creators abounds in the black community and countries and we wonder why these folks are shutting their borders in numbers!

Lol, if I'm the President of any of these advanced countries. I could have done worse. Majority of blacks are pure parasites. Consumers of products. U wonder why whites create open source platforms just to share knowledge.

Lots of responses have suggested nursing and IT. They are both decent choices but in my experience, some of the top candidates for ageism. Nursing ranks very high as one of the professions where you get burnt out quickly. The best way out is to go back to school and become either a PA or nurse practitioner. IT requires continuous learning which gets more difficult as you age grin. It is really a "younger persons" game.
It is very easy to work in the U.S. and make good money, but don't forget to plan for your retirement. All those illegal folks earning $4k per month are not paying into soc sec and will have no benefits...financial or healthcare. They had better be saving like crazy or else have a backup plan to move back to Nigeria when they can't work for a living anymore.
