No.

Custom roms work on unlocked bootloader. It will remain unlocked

Check page 77 of this thread for more information on unlocking bootloader, flash TWRP recovery, rooting, camera2api

ADB finally recognized my device , thanks. But after booting into that redwolf stuff it is saying unable to mount device. My phone folder is not even showing in my laptop.

You might need to decrypt. Backup all important stuff to your pc.

I use twrp though.

Good afternoon everyone I have free 4 gig to use In the next two hours, which custom rom I fit download use start my tweaking expedition? Miui pro, aex, pixel experience etc. I really like roms with a whole lot of customizations. Device is redmi note 4x. Thanks in advance

I used twrp that's why I gave the link. If you are oreo, use the oreo version of orangefox

How did you root your note 7? Last time I tried to, all the twrp I could get for my note 7 couldn't decrypt my phone's data. I had to restore back to the phone's default and I lost all my files. Do you have a twrp that doesn't ask for password?

By the way, I rooted my former redmi 5plus without formatting my data using one orange fox twrp like that.

More like Chinese version with EEA ROM. That ROM have been problematic for some people.

Reflash the rom or Look for another stable rom. The issue is not with the phone as you made it sound.

Yes o. I've tried it on my Note 7 and my sis Note 7 Pro and both worked. It requires a bit of patience but the reward is greater. Flexing 64GB fast memory and 2 active SIM cards. It's like shading both A and B and C in a question paper and getting your full marks!!
