Contract staff would be Considered (depending on the type ),they were also interviewed. But no special consideration for support o and they cannot strike ,they dont have a union .
The GGM HR (who else should be in charge of the process ) is a yoruba woman .

To buttress what this local man just said, I met a course mate of mine in the Towers during the just concluded interview who is a contract staff... He congratulated me with amazement when I told him I applied for EH position. Reason being that he couldn't apply as a result of his age. He is older than me. He told me equivocally when I probed that all the contract staff in NNPC were asked to apply like every other Nigerian. Those who were qualified, passed through the same process like you and I. No preferential treatment of any kind.

I think nervousness and desperation is letting a lot of us come up with conspiracy theories.

The only thing i can assure you is that;
If any ‘community slot’ receivers of letters really did collect letters today, then it should be out before the end of the day.

Theres no way some will get APL before some. It discredits the transparency. If at all, side runs will be done ‘after’ for APL Letter to drop for those who did not get it on merit.

Anything is easy to believe at this point but LasLas, the thing will still come out at its time.

Even if there are community slots, those slots shouldn't be given APL ahead of the general release of APLs nau...I believe those who will get APLs via influence will get it same time that the general ones will be released.. Don’t believe everything you are told about this recruitment. A presidency source has once told me that interviews will continue till the end of August. I didn’t believe him and never contacted him again for any update. Yesterday, one of the heads of a federal parastatal told me that this recruitment will be canceled. When I probed further, he couldn’t provide details. The truth is that anyone helping you to secure a slot will always look for an excuse to absorb him/herself the blame of not being able to help. For me, don’t expect 100% transparency. This is still NIGERIA. There are guys here with more credible sources than even people in the Tower but some of us here just need to be more matured and stop unnecessary insults/attack

I beg to differ on this. The fact that the GMD's son went through the recruitment process does not substantiate the transparency of the process. For starters, i could guess you have no concrete evidence of the parameters that were used to select candidates for the CBT exam other than the ones published. For all you know, all the influences had all been in the process from the start. Sometime on this thread, someone stated that even before the recruitment was advertised, a friend of his was told to submit his CV by his uncle. That guy may have done his interview in the towers as well and would also probably be given his APL. In that light can you say the recruitment had no external influences?
There may probably be some persons reading this thread and having a good laugh because their APLs are already secured.

I just don't think you can assert it is a transparent process when you don't even know what criteria was used for selection. Heck, no one can even explain the erratic reimbursement of candidates who attended the interview.

I am not a pessimist by the way. i have gone through several federal government recruitment processes to understand that it is hardly transparent.

If only you had gone through my post after this particular post, you could have seen where I clarify my stance.

See guys, this is just like some of us believing that you having a bro or uncle as a lecturer in a university definitetly assures your admission. And being your uncle or brother, whatever he tells you, you believe strongly. As if he works in the admissions office of the university.
It was until i got in to the system as an Undergraduate that i understood better.
I would be in a lecturer's office and he would recieve calls from different persons, asking for his help for admission. He would have to speak to them softly that he would do something about it, asking them to send thier details and documents.
This was someone that was barely recognized within the faculty, let alone at the admission office ...and again, we all can attest to this kind of "class" between the academics and non academics in the university.
But someone calling this lecturer from home time to time would trust and believe him hook line and sinker, as if he was the VC.
And even if you know anyone in the admission office, it does not still really guarantee that what they tell you is truly what it is.
And each time my lecturer hung his calls, he would just laugh and explain to me what the caller wanted and he would be like " since i am a lecturer here, all they think is that i am also in charge of admission here. And this is even admission in to another faculty/department"

In a Nut shell, it is indisputable that many people have friends, Uncles, brothers, relatives, senators, governors, ministers, etc and in fact some have the GMD as their "sauce" /"source" .....but one thing is certain, especially in this country that even when your "sure man" knows that your chance of securing a position is very slim or close to zero, he would still assure you to be hopeful and give you the info that you like to hear and "give him peace". Each time he sees your call, he thinks of what to fabricate to make you feel good. The person would want to remain a good man for you and would never tell you he can't help again since he wants to maintain his "integrity". But trust me, he is ready to come up with some "professional terminologies and jargons" when the whole process is over, to tell you why you didnt make it(if you didnt make it) and you would have to believe him , and even thank him for helping.....and also, if peradventure, you are successful, he would stilll want to maintain that he made it happen. This he gets by either checking your name on the final list by chance or you call to tell him about your success.

So, you choose to believe whatever your friend/uncle/governor/minister/chairman/HOD/GMD/HR/etc tells you, but by no logic should you consider everyone to believe you.
