What time of the day do you update the daily rates on your website?

It will do more good if it can be gotten around 1pm everyday. It would drive more traffic to your website while you save investors of the daily hassle of jumping from one bank to the other...looking for the best rate.
Thanks for taking an interest, sir! That's the ideal we are working towards.

However, consider this; rates vary but the bank giving the best rate in a week typically remains the same. So, whilst the site currently does not tell you which tenor will work best for you today, it can usually reduce your trip or call to one bank.

For now, we update it on the day, ready for investors with multiple accounts to look up which bank is currently giving the best rates the next day. For example, this week it is Stanbic. Some weeks it is UBA, or GTB, or Union, or FCMB, or Fidelity, or Wema or the Sterling partnered I-Invest app etc. Maybe even inspire some to open new accounts.

The site also gives you details new folks ask here aplenty:
minimum amount each bank allows for Tbills primary/secondary market
Deductions from your upfront interest
Channels allowed to place a request
Early termination notice required and costs

It is also more than Tbills. For investors who dabble into Fixed Deposits and Money Market Funds affiliated with commercial banks, we track rates & some features. We compare these, noting that rates can be better with Treasury Bills, but MMFs can be better for those with less than N100k to start.

One day we may have these rates before 1pm, one day realtime. Before then...Nigerians work really really hard, and are time poor. Any time we can save will be its own reward: https://comparedbest.com/ng/

Oga ITK epele sir......U shouldn't have mentioned me na,haba! Someone has answered my question already, besides, I didn't direct d question to you. Eku ise oluwa, so how much have u invested in tbills since u av all d info and u don't want to share wt others to benefit from..... U don't av time to help out bt u av time to write long boring epistle #yinmu#

RealityShot:
this is WHY I no longer answer newbie questions here.

Why can you not take 1 day and read 10 pages on a thread
About the investment business you want to embark on?

Will you be asking questions that have been answered a thousand times and expect a fresh answer?

The business that gave you that money, is this how you learnt and started it?

READ MAN. THEN GO TO YOUR BANK(S) AND CONFIRM THE INFORMATION.

Then ask questions if you find anything different.

Tbills is too easy for all these questions!

If you encounter a problem that's what you should bring here.

Nough said.

Most are increasing by 1-3%pts from just 2weeks ago, before the last Primary Market Auction. They seem to believe the rates will rise.

A more informed financial analyst than us might know if there has been more activity in the Equity market or if Foreign Investment has been leaving our shores seeking safer havens with all this talk of global recession looming.

Foreign Investors are reducing their exposures to the Frontier markets...

They are selling down their Tbills and Bonds after they have finished selling down their equities....

Emefiele will have no other option but to increase the discount rates for Tbills in the coming days to keep them back...

seems like the happy days are back again for Tbills Investors!

IJ that name reminds me alot how far what can you suggest for I haveike 900k I dont need now until January should I for fixed deposit or secondary market of TB
Ijeoma660:

Any rates for the money or capital market are annualized.

in simple terms whatever rate you are offered must be divided by 364 days and multiplied by the number of days you intend to invest your funds.

Your decision to choose a longer duration is precedent on whether you need your funds back soon for other purposes. However you can liquidate at any point in time but will loose the unearned interest days left to your maturity.

I am sorry if I have not used the proper terms I am not an expert

The 9 billion dollars seizure, selling off by foreign investors and loss of confidence in Nigeria economy by foreign investors is driving rate up. Well it is well

Yes good old days maybe coming back but why will the big boys with insider info... be dumping their positions.

Why are foreign investors leaving. It's good we discuss that and the possible implications.

One implications I know is that right now, it's putting pressure on the naira and this will in turn lead to price increase due to naira to dollar conversion.
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by TotoNaRubber: 9:13am On Aug 21, 2019
It is even better the rate stay up, Nigeria is an inflation driven economy, the economy has never gotten better since 1960, when the price of goods go up in Nigeria it stays up even when the government says there is a drop in Inflation.

A typical example is this; it costs on average $92 per day to survive in Ontario, London, Chicago but it costs $333 to have the same quality of life in Nigeria,

The reason companies are leaving is due to costs of running businesses in Nigeria is out of control, instability in accessing forex, corruption by the people from the people and for the people.

last time they left a devalution was imminent ...this normally wipe out the imaginary gain in real term for mugus caught napping ...they rather covert back to dollars...example fdi is having 3.6m in t.b he covert it to 10k dollars plus 1200 profit made total 11200 and wait for naira to move 400 now invest 4.5m (new capital ) while mugus will invest 3.6 +360 k 3.960m and boom devaluation he now having 8750 dollars while the white man is having 11200 dollars

Money is about it purchasing ability not on figures printed on it by cbn ...example close up family was 200 naira (1 dollar) now 300 naira (0.8 dollars ) in real term it cheaper but your have to give more naira to get it

Given the current trend in the Tbills market and the local and global economy,

I have decided to take to investing in 91days or less tenors.

Apart from the possibility of higher yields in the near future,
I also choose to adapt this strategy because as you all know;

My portfolio is below 500k and I want to steadily add to it quarterly.

This way, I will be keeping the small interests in MMF account and
add to it till the next Tbills investment date.
Then add all to tbills, till it reaches 1M when it can then automatically rollover and invest interests for compound interest effect.

Also, I will avoid having multiple 100k Tbills which I have to wait 360+ days to add to.

I hope this strategy works better than the long haul strategy...

My Ogas here, please Let me know you thoughts
