I am a graduate of electrical engineering with a 2:2 grade and some years professional experience in my field. I have tried applying for a masters degree in Canada in the past but could not succeed and I think it was because of my grade. And right now I have gone through some colleges like humber, centennial but the programs I saw there were advance diploma, diploma and certificate programs. And I desire to go for a postgraduate diploma based on my grade as 2:2 in same electrical or electromechanical or related course. Please can anyone give me any suggestion or advice on this or other colleges that I can search. Though, someone suggested SAIT

Thank you very much

Frankrobbn1:

From my recent findings, I have come to learn that applicants who have an active EE profile and now applying for a study Visa are usually denied of their Visas on the basis of their ties back home, because the visa officer is not convinced about their intent to study in Canada and depart. Although, it was stated that on IRCC official website that having dual intent is legitimate but the visa officer's at the embassy choose to go contrary to the law and reject study permit Applications with EE profile. Also, when applying to any Visa be it temporary or permanent residency to Canada, your UCI - is your unique number and must be entered in all of your applications. You can't be issued a new one.

My best suggestion is that you delete the active EE profile and face the study permit application proper since you've a very low CRS score and doesn't qualify you to migrate through the EE pool unless with the aid of a PNP which in most cases is very difficult to get.

I intend to continue my ICSAN upon my return. I have written two courses already.

My SOP was properly headed and my list of documents were in a tabular form, I tried to arrange it properly.

I wish all June/July applicants speedy processing especially my heartrob Ayodeji.

Congrats blema. I hope for a day like this.

Frank, first off I want to commend the amazing job u do here and may God continue to bless and enrich you. I got denied on the 21st of August based on purpose of visit, finance and family ties both in Nigeria and Canada, even though I had $10k in scholarship and my moms SOA had 11millie, 4 properties and my course was human rights (studied International relation for undergraduate degree) I’ve moved past it can’t stay sad forever. My school (U of M) gave me a scholarship but when I informed them of current situation they said they’d defer till next September but my scholarship is gone although next year I’ll be consider when they are considering fresh applicants. Honestly I was really sad but again I’m staying strong, my intention is to reapply for study permit as early as April 2020 but I’ll need your help, if it’s not too much I’ll need your help in reviewing my sop for when I intend to reapply, I’m just informing u ahead of time and also I’m thinking of applying to other schools that could grant me scholarships so all my eggs aren’t in one basket if U of M doesn’t come through and oh I’m going to order for my gcms note while I wait, September is sha a long time undecided
What do you think? Frank and all the plenty gurus in the house
Frankrobbn1:

At the bolded, that's not the right time to apply for a study permit to canada for a fall term. Though few might be lucky to receive their PPR but majority doesn't turn out well. It's a trend for IRCC. I strongly advise those that were rejected to quickly defer their admission to Winter and start preparing an airtight application that will demonstrate that their present situation has substantively changed to merit a study permit using their SOP and LOE to pin point the previous reasons for refusal.

It shall end in praises

Then that's a different case cos I think most discussion here is for postgraduate. You could check online for the undergraduate procedures though.

Thanks so much for your response. My mum will be the one to transfer the money to my account. Can this be explained in the SOP without her submitting any document of hers

It can be explained, but she'll also need to present her financial portfolio regardless.
