I did not ban Lexusgs430 and i'm sure that the offense was not committed in this section..maybe i'm wrong.

Lastly..the money transaction was not the reason.

I never thought you did, likewise did I think the forex deal was the causative factor....

But the truth be told, rule 19 should be repealed... Majority of Nairalanders at one point or another, have had an alternate account...

At the point of Mods implementing rule 19, the person/people banned, would simply open another account.

So what has the so called ban achieved? Nobody gets paid for historic content on Nairaland......

Justwise, kindly use your wise position to convey a message to seun about updating certain rules....

Thank you.

What you are doing now is exactly why rule number 19 is important, the super mod banned you for using alternative account then you created another account to keep posting.

You were not banned for having two accounts, you were banned for creating another account while serving a ban.

I suggest you deactivate this current account and sort the issue out with super mod.

The money exchange was not the reason for the ban..maybe there is something in missing here?

If you keep posting with this current ID then it will be banned again as it goes against rule number 19

I am not in full agreement with your position, but rather than argue ......

Super mod it is ......

I was not banned for creating an account while I was on a ban ..... Both Lexus accounts have been in existence for between 8/10 years ........

But super mod it is .......

You people, help o!

I’ve done this damn practice test 5 times already. No minors o, only majors! I’m tired. Honestly. And I need to start driving because of work. Nawa!

I’m considering going to do my test in Scotland. Any thoughts/opinions on this?

Sorry o.
I think the best tip is to look for a postcode that has a higher success rate of passing the test. I saw an article on bbc some months ago about it.
These areas are usually some distance away from city centres and have less traffic. Also pick a time that avoids rush hour (eg between 11am - 2pm)

I'm in scotland and passed on my 3rd attempt, despite doing it in an area close to traffic.

To all the drivers here, I'm about to pay for car insurance.

Admiral LittleBox is offering me £810.
And £942 for another quote (that covers Europe and gives a courtesy car)

Are they good? Is it advisable to use the box monitiring dashboard?

Also, I wonder why their policy lasts for just 10 months instead of one year. Isn't that suspicious?

I used admiral for years until I had an accident and they doubled my payment so I left and went to direct .lol

While I was with them I found them very reasonably priced and had no issues.also the 10 months is for accelerated one year no claims. If the price is right u can take it so that in 10months u have 1 year no claim .... although I think it's like 5 years u noticed you have 6 years no claim instead of 5 if you had been doing 10 months versus 1 year .so not bad. I don't have other experiences apart from direct and admiral so cant compare to others

As for box.... I personally have never used one so don't know anything about it . Never really bothered to research because they came after

What were your major errors? And how often did you practice driving before your test?

If you've been in the UK less than a year, one option might be to just go ahead and start driving with your Nigerian Licence, that'd give you way more practice and help you get used to the routes, it's cheaper than spending more money with an instructor since you'd eventually get a car anyway.

Then she will have to study and practise the new area which might cost more.

Instructor ideally should have advised. I remember there were 2 areas. One had hills and the other was flat. Even though the hilly area was close, instructor told me to go for the flat area

Sorry for this, what was your majors? Were you aware of the errors during the test or you discovered about the errors once the test was over.

I passed on second attempt and on my first attempt I was aware of my errors as I drove so it helped me in preparing for the second attempt.

And try watching YouTube videos of driving test analysis and also driving fault analysis ( I recommend Ashley Neal and dgn driving school)

Plus I will recommend you get a new instructor some instructors aren't honest with there students. I know someone who was block booking monthly for more than a year and when she failed the instructor asked her to block book again.(when ideally you just need couple of lessons to rectify the mistakes.

And on your next test try to be calm especially towards the ending, as I learnt a lot of people fail the test in the ending part of the assessment.

Good luck

Thanks my love. My problem is not even busy areas or not. Just little mistakes. Like yesterday, I missed a right turn (I didn’t know I was meant to pull into the service lane), so I got shocked when I noticed my mistake and just stepped in the brakes. No minor. Just that I stepped on my brakes without looking at my mirror.

I tried to explain to the instructor that it was nerves that I panicked, but no use. I know it’s a mistake but haba. Small mercy now.

My dear this was my biggest mistake. If I had known earlier I wouldn’t have applied for my provisional license as soon as I came here. I would have just started driving on my Nigerian licence to familiarise myself with the roads and rules.

But now it’s too late.

My majors are just silly things: you failed because you stepped on your brakes without looking behind, you sped past a non-obvious roundabout, you didn’t see the car behind you when you were pulling out of the roundabout, you didn’t look back a second time before pulling into the road.

So frustrating.

Actually nothing is wrong with my driving. My instructor is always shocked when I fail. He advised that I don’t need lessons at all but that he is happy to train me if I think I need more. I no that one of my faults is that I spend so much time looking all around me (left mirror, rear mirror, right mirror, speed limit, accelerator, navigator... all at once) so I don’t even focus on my front.

I’m just tired.

I used cruise control to help with the maintaining speeds.

And use MSM

Mirror signal manoeuvre

Always mirror before signal or breaking.

Trying doing test routes with instructor to know the road and speed limit. General rule of thumb.

If there are speed bumps 20.
If it's not dual carriageway 30
Dual carriageway 40+ except for certain exceptions

Thanks.

One of the times I failed, it was because I slammed my brakes at a red light. The red light was in a roundabout so I only saw it on approach, then just slammed on the brakes.

Instructor said that I should have checked mirror! A split second decision and he was expecting me to check mirror?

Yes ma, you have to always use mirrors when changing speeds or directions. even if it was after breaking you should have just glanced at the mirrors.

I think you should try to improve on planning and anticipation.

always lift your leg from accelator while approaching a green light, and be prepared to stop.

Ok I get it now, pele don't worry you will conquer it next time.
Maybe this might help: every test centre has, I think, about 10 possible routes that the examiner can choose to take you on so here's what I'd suggest - search online for driving test routes and find the ones for your centre, then arrange with your instructor to only do mock tests from now on, particularly on the driving routes. Try to drive on all the routes at least once, it will help you get familiar with the roads.
When I was practising for mine, I used this website to download the test routes and it really helped. http://driving2pass.com/driving-test-routes/ Although I had a car, so was able to drive the routes multiple times.
If you don't find your centre there, you can just go a general search on google.

Additionally, are you more comfortable driving in traffic or when the road is not busy? You might want to factor that in when booking your test time. For example, I get stressed when driving in traffic so I booked for 10am on a weekday when people will be at work/school. My friend, on the other hand, booked 8am, there was heavy traffic and they didn't even drive more than 2km before the test time was up and they had to head back to the centre.

Dont worry you will soon scale through. If you are not familiar with the roads, maybe you need to change your instructor or take more lessons. Each test route have more than 20 test route but some common grounds amongst all and during your lessons he should teach you at least 5 of those routes.

You can also check pass rate of test centres near you because some can just be mean in some months, will share a link for the most recent one for November 2018 to March 2019. All in all be calm, concentrate on the road fully to plan and anticipate early.

If you can also be a named driver on an existing policy, that would be beneficial it allows you practise your driving at a reduced cost. Lastly, you arrange frequent lessons towards the exam date. All the best

There are many videos on youtube. You can watch them to boost your confidence on the road and also learn from what the instructors say, maybe there's something you are doing wrong.....Also, i dunno about 10months insurance, you don't get a 1year No claims bonus, so it's probably their way of preventing you from going to other customers. Personally, i hate admiral and their stupid black box. Hope you don't do many miles or they will increase ur premium Pay as you go nd nothing you can do about it...In future, avoid black box....and if you can still cancel, i think you have up to 14days.....Go to Aviva direct and check their own cost too, They even do monthly-interest free premiums. Driving test....hardest thing. All the best on the next one

Just to correct one minor thing: From personal experience, Admiral will give you one-year no claims certificate for their 10 months policy. Although I left them after the 10 months policy expired and have been with Aviva since then (way cheaper imo).

How come Aviva rejected my application because I havent been in the country for up to 3yrs and a credit check? Or is it better to call them directly for a quote.

Looking to port to a cheaper policy
