Right now naija is undergoing total destruction

(boko haram,ritual,kidnapping,police vs soldier killing,bandits,ruga,coza,jamb no score,hospital no drug,bsc no job,el zaky zaky,sowore,senate chop all the money)
Maybe after the total destruction we will start rebuilding but for now all road lead to better pali.

Children born on US soil are still US citizens as long as their parents are not foreign diplomats.

Poor Americans are US citizens who don’t require a visa. It’s not their responsibility to make sure you know the rules. The hospitals are not permitted to ask about your citizenship when offering you care. It’s not their fault that you’ve been exploiting a loophole all along. Besides, it isn’t punishment to deny you a visa, you can have your baby anywhere, your choice.

TWOODS I ACTUALLY SENT A MAIL STATING I WAS COMING IN FROM NIGERIA TO HAVE MY KIDS HENCE I NEEDED A QUOTE FROM THE HOSPITAL.

QUOTE WAS SENT WITH A DISCOUNT. IF THEY ARENT MEANT TO ASK MY NATIONALITY BEFORE ATTENDING TO ME AS YOU STATED WHY DIDNT THEY JUST SEND IN THE EXACT BILL FOR A FORIEGNER .

There is no part of the document that talks about 6 weeks . The document only tries to differentiate "physical presence" from "residence". and in the examples cited , even a 6 months stay or property ownership in the US does not mean one is resident there.

i dont think this will be automatic after oct 29.

I am not a lawyer but simple logic suggest that this is targeted at those that travel to the US just to give birth.

The 14th Amendment says : All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.

so what this amendment is trying to clarify is that someone on a temporary visit does not reside in the US hence has failed to meet one of the preconditions for citizenship .

See some highlights of the document below :

• Clarifies that temporary visits to the United States do not establish U.S. residence and explains the distinction between residence and physical presence in the United States.

• Explains that USCIS no longer considers children of U.S. government employees and U.S. armed forces members residing outside the United States as “residing in the United States” for purposes of acquiring citizenship under INA 320.3


A U.S. citizen who was born in the United States generally meets the residence requirement as long as he or she can present evidence to demonstrate that his or her mother was not merely transiting through or visiting the United States at the time of his or her birth.9 For example, a long form birth certificate is sufficient evidence if it shows a U.S. address listed as the mother’s residence at the time of the U.S. citizen’s birth.

This is a first step to modyfying the rules but as of this new drama it does not affect birthright citezenship,it affects ur grand kids if they are not born in the us or if your kids never lived in the usa for 5years of which 2 of those 5 years must be after age 14.

Go to their website and read the head of the organization did an interview and said it does not affect birthright citizenship

To abolish birthright citizenship an amendment or wxecutive order is needed

The new rules affect ur grand kids if they are born outside usa,ur kids didnt school in usa and ao dint live up to 5yra here hope this clarifies d tension!

In fact if you ever get a green card or citizenship you can transfer to your grandkids if ur kids dont meet the criteria ,as long as you have lived in the usa for 5 years

All correct except the bolded.

From a legal position, only an amendment/change passed by Congress can affect the 14th amendment provision on birthright citizenship. It is legally impossible for an executive order to change statutory/constitutional law passed by Congress.

Think about it well, do you think Trump would not have changed birthright citizenship sinceeeeee if he COULD really do so by the simple stroke of his pen? If he did, it would be an exercise in futility as there would be litigation galore and the courts will eventually overrule him.

Even the US Supreme Court (the highest court of the land) has upheld the sanctity of the 14th amendment in the past. If you have time, see and read the locus classicus case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark to understand the sanctity of birthright citizenship in the US.

POE remains the same. Just prepare for why you are there with evidence e.g hosp, doc , how long and your financial evidence. etc

Well I feel all these should be addressed to the hospitals, because. I was told how much it all cost, before birth and before they even got my address. Like I paid before I gave birth.

The VO was right. If the average American paid $6400 for childbirth, healthcare costs would not be the massive problem it is today. My wife got a less than 30 minute non invasive procedure that did not require her to be anaesthesized two weeks ago, it cost us over $2100.

The truth is you’re paying costs usually reserved for the poor US citizens. That’s why she asked for the contact address you claimed when your son was born.

I just got off the phone with Nigerian immigration at 2.37pm
VOA for infants is still in place you can call also to confirm by calling their official line 08119753844

But when I tried to apply on the website I got this see attached screenshot

Non-African applicants
under the age of 18 years
are not allowed for
visa on arrival under the business category.

Get birth cert preferably 2 copies
Snap babys passport photo with white background
Fill ds-11 form leave notarized spaces free
Calculate the cost of passport some passport offices take postal order some u can pay with card
You will have the form notarized by a notary public in the presence of u,hubby and baby and it costs about $20-$50
Take it with ur passport datapages,pix,birth cert of social security is out fill on ds11 form if not fill 000000
Go to passport agency and apply i prefer to expedite d passport application and expedite the return mail service

If dad is not available

Follow d link for lagos or abuja its notary seevices not passsport services

Dad should fill ds3053 form and leave relevant pages blank
Book appointment at usa consulate for natary service
Take $50 in naira along
His and ur data page and front of passport
(Am not sure if dad needs a birthcert to do this one which is where am confused cos it states on d birth cert you cant photocopy it)
He will dhl this form take with other requirements to passport agency usually a library or post office.

I only know process for naija passport not visa
Fill form online
Preregister your atm card with innovate 1(1 month bank statement scanned on same page with atm card block the middle 8 digits also scan your data page to them ,they reply is 24hrs)
And then pay
You will get interview date ,appear on that day with letter of consent cosigned by both parents ,hubby can do it and send then you sign ur part
They will tell you to come back anoda day for pick up,atlanta does same day pick up

Pls i need more info on documents req for notary appt if you find out

I didn't pay a dime for notary public

There is no such US Immigration law for a grand parent to petition for grand kids.
