If you have nothing to say, then shut it..

To and fro empty flight..
Plane registration for a route it does not fly..
Costly hours at airport for delays..
Hanger for wait period..
Scheduled 3 trips..
Maintenance and running cost for non paying fliers..

A whole govt could not even cater for its citizens in the heat of time, despite killings and murders. yet someone volunteered and here you are criticizing as if you own a plane...
People with poor attitude and communication skills are a big turn off to me.

lol This is impossible.

South Africa to Lagos is between N120k and N150k. For 200 passengers, it would have been N30 Million (N150k x 200) and the Airline would still have made a profit.

What did he spend N280M on?

Are you for real 400 to 500 dollars for Southy , please check online before commenting on this figure.

I hope he's not beating his chest so early?

Anyway how much is a trip from SA to Nigeria? I feel he exaggerated.

If its free, why bore us with figures or is he expecting something in return? Concessions, future political position, patronage of the airline, compensation

He should state it categorically.

your president could not do it. Neither could your father. Learn to appreciate. i know u searching for clout but dont be stvpid

The problem with most people is that they are so eager to please the world and get accepted into the bandwagon that they are afraid to speak their minds. It's a good thing that he volunteered to help evacuate our brothers in south Africa, without collecting money (as far as we know). And the beneficiaries were particularly grateful. If he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart and doesn't truly expect payment as he said I the beginning, why gloat about it when the job is not even completed? Except he's expecting some form of remuneration or acknowledgement from the government, in which case it will not be out of place to truly question his absurd claim of transporting less than 200 people from South Africa to Nigeria in just a trip with 280 million naira.

Let's learn to be objective instead of being sentimental all the time. If you buy me a 5000 naira lunch at a regular restaurant and while I'm still eating you're already telling the world that you spent over 20,000 naira to feel me, should I just remain quiet in the spirit of being grateful?

You're very dull.

It is not going to be just one trip.

He would go other rounds.

All that together is up to 280m.

What did he spend N280M on?

Is the calculation for a round trip or single trip? Because even thought nobody was in the plane going to south agrica, he probably had to pay for those empty seats anyway. And the fuel costs for both trips...

You are one of the reasons Nigeria is still backward. Some body volunteered to help stranded Nigerians return home and instead of you to applaud him you are here talking trash. No wonder the country is in a state of comatose.

This comment reeks with stupidity and the impulse to comment unnecessarily as is usually done on Nairaland by overrated idiots who are only privileged because of the generosity of the internet and for the sole reason that Nairaland is not a paid site.
People like are those that ask your parents: " what have you done for me?"

AS IF OTHERS LOVE HUNGER.

YET, AIR PEACE JUST STARTED EVACUATING NIGERIANS FROM SOUTH AFRICA FOR FREE.

THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED IN NIGERIA HISTORY, THAT A COMMERCIAL AIRLINE WILL RUN FREE SERVICE AT SUCH A DISTANCE AND HIGH COST OF AVIATION FUEL.

How many gallons of aviation fuel was burnt taking that plane to SA and back?

How much was paid in parking fees every day the plane was parked on the tarmac?

Some of you have no brains!

Your father or you cant afford public bus but you a here criticising a man for using his own private plane, his money, his time to bring people back and government not compensatting him. I hope in your time of need nobody comes to your aid

C'mon man! Give the man some credit. It isn't about the flight ticket alone but the octane fuel cost as well. And they stayed longer than expected. Whether or not he exaggerated isn't the point but his act is rare and the fact that he did what the Nigerian government couldn't do says a lot.
