Nwa teacher,, it is thunder that strikes.. lightning is the light that shines before thunder sound fires

My guy, if the lightening hits you, you wouldn't even be standing or alive to hear the thunder.

Lightening is the "bullet". Thunder is the shot or sound that comes after the bullet (lightening) has left the gun.

Lightening kills! Thunder tells the story.

I feel the pain of the Fulani herdsman.

To me the Ondo state government has to compensate the Fulani man, they could have either barricaded the area or put up a caveat emptor sign.

what is this one saying, I'm from that town and if you know the havoc these people have wrecked in that community you won't be saying this.

My dad's farm about 10hectares of cassava plantation was destroyed last year, we were helpless as even the town helmsman was powerless (the king I mean so to say was incapacitated) as a result of warning from higher authorities to deal with him I learnt he was warned from army barracks in the state capital.

This was my dad's last resort as business was not bringing in much money again.imagine what was done to him if not for encouragement from mum and we children what do you think will happen, the herdsmen even threatened him that if he doesn't want problem he should forget the damages mind you in his hometown o. His own is one of many cases of such. When you go beyond your boundaries in places belonging not to you then be ready to dance to the music.

Attrocities these people have committed in the land cannot be measured and I think this will be a serious warning to them to desist from going near the land

My Brother!

Wetin we no go see for Naija!

People don't know that thunder is just a report of the actions of lighting.

All Naija people know is "thunder this, thunder that"! Thunder cannot fire anything.

If anyone has ever been close to a lighting strike, he will know it's awesome power. It's also merged with the sound it makes which is the thunder people fear so much.

I've been really close to a lightning strike before. It's more like a shotgun blast or a bomb going off.

This is a strange occurence. The electric current from lightning will usually go into the ground via one path (the shortest) and not like 36 cows (multiple paths) at the same time. Could be the cows were poisoned.

Really?

Do you know that lightning can discharge as much as 6,000,000 volts? That's SIX MILLION VOLTS!

A lightning strike can kill 300 cattle if they're in the strike zone.

It's called lighting...not thunder. Thunder is just a sound.
And the lightning needs a medium to propagate just like thunder. They could have close effect.

No fewer than thirty six (36) cows were reportedly struck to death on Saturday by a mysterious thunderstorm on Oke Owa in Ijare community of Ifedore local government area of Ondo state.

Nigerian Cable News reliably gathered that the cows were struck by thunderstorm in the late hours of Saturday without any of them surviving.

The cows were said to have died for desecrating the mountain where sacrifice is made every year by the town’s monarch.

It was learnt that the herders reported the case to the monarch of the town after the unfortunate incident.

The monarch of the town, the Olujare of Ijare, Oba Adebamigbe is always accompanied by chiefs to carry out the yearly sacrifice.

The mountain is said to be a secluded place for the monarch.

This is the only language the fulaniherdsmen will understand very well I know that this community might have been warning them earlier to stay away from that sacred mountain but they vehemently refused see their lives now. Who is now going to pay for all this loses the community or the ondo state govt? How I wish that other communities in Nigeria that have been suffering from this destructive herdsmen do also have this kind of thunder.

The god's are angry with the Fulani herdsmen for their atrocities especially this Buhari government.

They went OVERBOARD taking laws into their hand killing farmers, raping women, claiming community all with the support of the political leaders at the federal level.

is it just me, or this event bears a spiritual meaning, here is how I'll simply put it; the 36 cows symbolizes the 36 states of Nigeria, lightning striking the 36 cows, symbolizes the wrath of God coming upon the whole nation, coming down hard on these wicked souls called politicians.
And another way we can see it is, since we all know that Buhari is a cow in the guise of a human being, is this another way of the universe telling us that the head of the 36 states of Nigeria is going meet his end soon, ? I mean this cannot be a coincidence, i am just saying, work with me on this phenomenon, will you? If you the with me hit on the "likes" grin if you don't well, , , ........fvxk off angry

This guy best explains the concept. Because the bullet travel faster than the sound of the gun, the bullet would have hit the target before a sound is made. The sound is harmless (well, unless you are the one shot at, then you need to worry). The bullet is what harms, same with lightning, the lightning is what harms, thunder only tells the story.
