For the ones asking why I'd take retroviral drugs when am not HIV+ should know that there a procedure called Post exposure Prophylaxis(PEP) which anybody can undertake when they have cause to believe they were in a risky position. The drugs will prevent you from becoming positive even when the virus enters your blood stream.

There is 0.00099 chance that you contracted the virus through a dry razor blade.
Hepatitis ... definitely , because it can live three or four days outside the body .
HIV ...no way in hell .

If HIV was that easy to contract , family members of people with the virus will all be positive.
Do you know how many times family members try to cut onions or pepper and accidentally cut their hands ?
Do you think HIV can be transferred through such ?

HIV does not live long outside the body of its host and it does not thrive on dried blood .

Think of the no of times u ere walking on ur own n u got cut by an iron.. Did u get scared of HIV or did u take pep? The highest u took was tetanus.

If we take pep for every iron cut, I wonder what would v become of us all or if HIV could be spread that easily.

Oga talk true. I don't think any pharmacist will administer PEP to you because you were cut by a razor blade lying idle in a bag. If you had unprotected sex, then you should the drugs diligently and go for test 4 weeks later. If you were only cut by a razor, chances of being infected are slim to none.

HIV virus takes a minimum of 3 months before it could reflect in your test. However, you might be having some symptoms but that doesn't mean you've contacted the virus. Go for a test, it's free in all general hospitals. Early detection is the key to surviving the virus. However, don't stop the usage of the drugs. Use as recommended and you'll be fine and healthy. I repeat, don't stop the usage of the drugs once you're sure you are positive. From experience, that kills people more, because they actually think they are okay and stop the drugs, if you do, it will affect the your kidney and the rest nah story... pls go for a test first. MAY GOD HEAL ALL THOSE AFFECTED

Threebear am only replying cos you r Team Mike. I never said I went to a pharmacy, I said I went to Military Hospital down at Ikoyi. The doctor determined the wound was quite substantial and the girl is a known positive and since we had cause to believe she may have used the blade recently, it was necessary to take PEP.

Someone commented that he got his through soda. That his friend put blood n semen in his soda when they quarrelled and when they went on hold, the friend messaged him n told him.

I doubt the authenticity but atleast his friend infected him. If I ere u , I will be careful. Don't leave for him , tell him ur family member is coming so it wont be like u r stigmatising him.

And please stay away from that friend of yours because I am yet to reconcile how the blade of the infected girl got into your own laptop bag when you don’t share the bag with your friend. It seems deliberate to me because if he had the intention of disposing it like he claimed, that razor would be in the bin and not your own laptop bag, how many minutes does it take to thrash something? Your friend has an ulterior motive, but I may be wrong. Stay away not because I want him stigmatized but because his main aim may be to see you infected if he kept the blade with malicious intent. But be there for him, if you can, assist him in getting an apartment and advice him to get tested as your story doesn’t say if he got himself tested or not.
