You think Ghana is useless like Nigeria where every week, there is fuel shortage

grin grin grin grin grin grin

how dumb can you be

when was the last time you heard of fuel shortage in Ghana?

we produce 80% to 90 % of our own diesel and petrol oo
Nigeria has not had a fuel shortage in three years. And we pay the equivalent of 2.17 GHS per litre, not like the crazy 5.35 or 5.4GHS per litre that is forcing everyone to use all those tiny 1.0 l capacity engine cars. Be enlightened.

Oga, I'm not a Buhari supporter.. I don't even vote for him, when you see something good.. always acknowledge it, it won't take anything away from you... other neighbouring countries now complaining, our farmers now smiling to banks..Nigeria productions has come to stay kill yourself.

God bless Nigeria.

Another fool talking.

The Ghanaian economy is a highly dollarized one. Why? the currency has become more worthless in the last three years.

100 GHS cannot even buy 20 litres of fuel. Fuel in Ghana is pegged to the US dollar.
How much are hotel rooms in Ghana? You cannot get a hotel in Osu area for anything less than $100 (540 GHS) a night. This is for a cheap hotel. The high end ones are far more expensive. In the hotel, they will even tell you to pay in US dollars if you have.

Infrastructure: apart from better electricity and a better educational system, where are the infrastructure? Is it the roads? The roads are narrow and many have craters, not potholes.

Tax: Ghana pays VAT of 13.5% to 17.5%. A bottle of Malta Guiness is on the average, 3.5 GHS. N245 on the average; what we buy N150 here. Very expensive. One egg costs 80 pesewas for a small one and 1 GHS for a big one. That is between N56 to N70 for one, as opposed to N30 for a raw one.

Things are bloody expensive in Ghana and even cost of foodstuff is high. Enter the streets of Ghana and ask the average Ghanaian if their living costs are low. They are all complaining and their standard of living is definitely not higher than in Nigeria.

People like this fellow can talk lies thinking they can deceive everyone. I go to Ghana and stay sometimes a month there and I know what's up.

all that you just mentioned only says one thing
Ghana is an expensive place to live.

we Ghanaians are not complaining because we earn enough to be able to afford this kind of living

standards of living is proportionately higher than in Nigeria
I can easily get electricity to my house
i can easily connect water to my house
i can easily pay my water and electricity bill
i can easily access health care without going far
every community has a school which is easily accessible.
transport services are readily available

80 -90 percent of Ghanaians live above the poverty line

that is prety high standard

do you know the price of Guinness in the UK?
it is 4.25 pounds

do you know the price of Guinness in Sweden?
5 pounds

Any economy with high wages price goods accordingly

My government have removed all subsidizes on fuel
Now no one smuggles fuel again. and every Ghanaian can afford it without complaining

because we know what the money will be used for

zuchyblink:
As Nigeria’s land border closure bites West African countries, the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has called for a total boycott of all Nigerian products imported by Ghana.
The move, the traders union believes, will force the Nigerian government to open up its land borders for foreign goods. Nigeria partially shut its borders since August.
According to Ghanaweb.com, Greater Accra Regional Secretary of GUTA, David Kwadwo Amoateng on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Friday said the Nigerian government has not been fair to foreign traders.
In return, he expects the Ghana government to prevent Nigerian traders from bringing goods into Ghana, but that plea has fallen on deaf ears.
“Either somebody’s bread has been buttered or we are cowards. Government is not being fair to us,” he fumed.
Mr Amoateng cited how Dangote cement had taken over the market while local ones from GHACEM are suffering.
“Let’s boycott Nigerian products as payback to their government’s action. How can we be slaves in our own country?” he said.
Mr Amoateng argued that the issue, if not checked, could hamper the Continental Free Trade Area.
Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has appealed to Ghanaian traders to remain calm as it works with the Nigerian authorities to ease its ban on the exportation of Non-traditional products.

Nigeria as a country also needs these west African countries market for our industries to keep running n continued employment guaranteed, it's time the government look into their complains n find a middle ground to solve the problem before the gang up against us, let's not decieve ourselves that we don't need them, it's going to be catastrophic if they should gang up against us.

we pay 5.3 because we can afford it
that is the international price without subsidizes

youre too poor and wont be able to pay the same amount we pay for fuel.
it will cause a revolution in nigeria grin grin grin grin grin

that is why your government cant even increase the price of fuel in your country
evn though they know that the subsidizes are making Nigeria bankrupt and causing fuel smuggling.

I'm a staunch critic of Buhari and don't believe he's got the energy to move Nigeria forward. However, on this border closure, I support him. This is the second firm decision in as many months.First ,his diplomatic salvo to recall Nigeria's emissary from xenophobic South Africa ,then this.
The Ghanaian government know they've got to tread with caution regarding this stand-off with Naija,as it could have a collateral damage. How many outsourcing jobs go into the Ghanaian economy? This is the first time Naija is really throwing her weight around like the US.Naija sneezes, all of dem come catch cold! Go on son u,Naija.

Even at cheaper price which it was before, people still prefer foreign to indigenous rice. What the government needs to do is support local farmers to produce quality brand of farm products

This is a great opportunity for us to grow our local productions. For how long should Nigeria be a dumping site? At this 21 century, you have to rely on importation of Rice, Turkey and Pine Apple. How do we develop if we simply can't produce what we want to eat ? How do we reduce unemployment when virtually 100% of our consumptions are imported? My Brother we definitely have to start from somewhere. We have the very reach fertile soil with over 923,990 land mass.
How does land border closure stop the importation of those goods you mentioned up there?

It simply means no room for smuggling of goods into Nigeria. You can't import rice from Thailand and pay Benin the import duty and the same time, the rice ends up in Nigeria through smuggling. If you are importing rice into Nigeria, pass through air or sea and pay Nigeria customs the required import duty. Go to Seme border or Niger/ Katsina border now and see 1000s of their goods on line

This post is fine until you mentioned giant of Africa.. U need to understand that ur country, Nigeria is located in west Africa. The fact u had many likes show how much our people know. That is why our leaders keep playing with our heads. But for people who don't know west Africa is weak in terms of development in africa. If u are using issue that happened in west africa to judge the entire continent, then u have a long way to go. Nigeria is giant of west Africa, yes, but not giant of Africa. Your country wouldnt have gone to South Africa to negotiate even after their people dealt with Nigerians. The giant of Africa is south Africa, followed by Egypt, followed by Morocco. Kenya's and Nigeria may be next. We need to know the truth before our leaders will be washing our heads with such lies like they have told us many times while they struggle with the most basic things of live. Wesr africa is made up useless countries just like Nigeria. How many made in Nigerian goods Ghana wants to ban when Nigeria sef is lacking Made in Nigerian goods. No decent country will shake due to border closure if they were doing business the right way. These west african countries dont do business the right way.

Well said but I disagree with you about Morocco. I would place Nigeria and above Morocco.

No bro, we need to understand that we have very poor purchasing power. The purchasing power of any country is what matters. Not really about population. Bro, Morocco is ahead of Nigeria. They have so many things already fixed that we are struggling with for decades.

Electricity, water, road network, industry, etc. We have none of this working.
