I personally feel it's not relevant.the essence of brideprice in the first place was so that the family of the bride can be sure that the groom can take good care of the bride,but now most women can take care of themselves comfortably.

But when I told my mum the same thing I just typed up,let's just say she wasn't too happy with me for sometime .asking me why am I cursing myself

Y not just get pregnant and move in with the man, if he want to share accomodation with u?


Then again, your both Yoruba women, in your culture the bride shoulder the marriage expenses. That is y u say that.

In other culture, it is the Groom, that shoulder the cost of his marriage.
