Why should I take a bullet for a girl?





Why should she even involve herself in anything that involves spraying bullets??

Altruism as an attribute of any human, whether male or female, is golden. A selfless person has no flaws in my eyes. Their benevolence detects and influences the way they treat other people. Sadly though, humans are becoming increasingly selfish, self-centred and greedy, most especially in this country.

The girl child growing up in a Nigerian family is not trained to imbibe and practice altruism. She grows up seeing a model, a blueprint that moulds her idea of relationship, from her parents. She sees a wife(her mom) who is dependent on her dad a lot. A wife who always takes but never spoils her man. A weak woman who is helpless when her man's finances take a dip.

She goes out into the society; Perhaps she might find a model of a strong woman to emulate. But sadly society fccks her up the more. Older experienced friends, music, movies, all tell her she is the queen bee that must be cared for, she is not supposed to care for her partner in any way(most definitely not in the financial way ). This is the making of an egocentric, self-absorbed, entitled weak woman who has adopted the slogan of 'my man must take care of ME' not realizing her man is a HUMAN who craves care too.

She therefore fails to stand by, support, and encourage her man when he's down because she's not learned the art. She instead, grows bitter, and because she worships at the altar of selfishness, she absconds, leaving the man to his fate. Or she stays and gets the man depressed by her constant nagging, scorn and emasculation.

Thankfully though, we still have a small percentage of those superwomen who were raised by strong mothers to be able to care for their own. Those mothers themselves are from a bloodline of independent, brave and hardworking women who did everything they could for their men and kids. They are the superwomen who never let their man's weaknesses show. These are the ones I'd catch a grenade for. Too bad they don't make them that way anymore.

Why do people feel someone must reach a standard before he/she can be loved unconditionally to the point of receiving a bullet for that special one?
You have to be yourself, am not saying you should have an appalling character but be human ...love is unconditional!

Why does a woman have to reach a standard before a bullet can be taken for her?? Why is the issue of "taking bullet for someone" focused mostly on the male? A male can take for a female,a female can take for a male, a female can take for her fellow female,and a male for his fellow male UNCONDITIONALLY!

It's not me it's self preservation

Although this scenario has actually happened to me before but it didn't involve guns

We were mugged by dogs

Me and a gf of mine went for a walk one day and this two big enraged dogs came out of nowhere and started charging towards us,barking and clearly mad

So the dogs charged at me and I quickly use my gf as shield

Hehehehe

It wasn't pretty but she got over it

You are right. I am a female and I created the thread for the ladies so men aren't my target audience.
Unconditional love is the goal but we should first work from the ground up... You seem to hold cutting edge beliefs but others are riding lower than that. I am struggling with unconditional love so I can't be a hypocrite and preach it to others, if you can (minus hypocrisy) then thats some leading edge stuff... Well done.

Taking a bullet can be figurative and it can be literal depending on where you have placed this person in your priorities and ranks. In our reality, right now, we have to earn that position sadly because not everyone is equal in their spiritual evolution (for lack of a better word) and therefore we need to display our worth in terms of sacrifice and struggle.

You can't do zero inner work and demand unconditional love... I'm confusing myself, let me stop before I add you join.
